Dude, you were posting mock drafters an hour ago. You were posting stuff from a site I've never heard of, that has information inconsistent with better known sources, that has no sources inside the team, that does not have writers who travel with the team. The beat writers have covered the team every day for 13 years (Birkett) and 7 years (Rogers). If you think you and your random internet site know better than guys who have been covering the team for a combined 20 years, good for you.
-
It only maybe made sense if they cut Vaitai and/or before re-signing Glasgow. They still need more depth at RG since both Vaitai and Ragnow have health concerns and Glasgow is the backup for both of them.
-
The beat writers from the News and the Free Press both had him at 6 in their mock drafts. If you think it's a bad idea you could write a letter to the editor.
-
He fits the bill. His ceiling is not as high as Chark's but he will be more reliable and cheaper. They need depth at DT, CB, RG, RB, WR, TE, LB. But they can only address five of these positions in the early rounds. It will be interesting to see what positions get left out.

Yes, this is why the beat writers put Skoronski at 6. RAS of 9.26 as a Tackle. His Northwestern teammate Slater was at 9.71 and went to the Pro Bowl as a rookie. Sewell seems to have been scored 9.32. Skoronski is a really athletic guy. This pick doesn’t make as much sense now that Vaitai is restructured and apparently healthy. But Skoronski’s floor is probably as a top five player at his position for 8-10 seasons. His ceiling is multi-year Pro Bowl right tackle. A GM might regret not being able to trade back a few slots to take him, but I doubt the GM who takes him will regret it. I agree that 6 is too high for a guard on a team that already has two high quality starting guards. And a team that still needs CBs and has the chance to get a physical freak like Gonzalez. But Skoronski will probably get picked at 9 by Chicago and if not then probably at 11 by Tennessee. So Skoronski at 6 would not nearly be the over-draft that some are making it out to be.

This is good to hear, though this time of year you take it with a grain of salt. It has not been clear where he slots in next to the two blue chip defenders. Many mocks go in many different directions after pick 5, indicating question marks. When you read about him more you see things like “not fully polished” and that he will start as a “rotational player.” PFF has his best graded game against Murray State but with a pedestrian rating against Oklahoma State. Is that worth a 6?

But how much did Lamar save on agent fees?
-
Yeah he wasn’t recovered from the first surgery until like week 10 last season, now another. Too bad for him.
-
Apparently this is what Holmes knew that we didn’t.
-
Good. They should meet with him and ask him all sorts of tough and uncomfortable questions.
-
Honestly it wouldn’t surprise me if they told Goff they will take Stroud if he falls to them. But he won’t fall that far and Detroit won’t go get him.
-
I love it.
-
“But then you have your QB in a box, and man that guy might actually turn out to be as good as Goff. That’s what makes it so hard.”
-
Trading to 12 is nothing like trading to 3, especially when you will be competing with multiple teams desperate for a QB lottery ticket, and also competing with Arizona’s interest in the draft’s blue chip defensive prospect. Throw the draft chart out the window. This is an auction with an exorbitantly high reserve.
-
Their suggestion is more realistic than the 6 and a second rounder. Arizona is open for business and probably has multiple trade offers on the table that they will play against one another.
-
Don’t be surprised if his agent releases a statement saying that he is being treated for depression related to grief about the accident. I am not making a claim that he is or isn’t, just that it wouldn’t surprise me to hear a report like this.
-
Yes, I see your point. The questions for Detroit are, do you project him to become a starting tackle for 8-10 years after Decker’s contract is up, and does this represent “positional value”?
-
Welcome. Good to have you. Jaymo will eventually take Chark’s place as the second receiving option but they could still use a big guy who can work the sideline and open up space for ASB and Jaymo. As a payroll matter it seems Holmes is planning to commit money to ASB and probably to Jaymo. So it seems they will look for an X in the draft. I doubt it will be in the first round though. And probably not in the second.
-
He’s projected so high because his closest comp is his former teammate Rashawn Slater who became a Pro Bowl left tackle as a rookie. He’s being mocked to Detroit now by two beat writers (Birkett and Rogers) because the defensive talent question has been unclear after Anderson and Carter, and is especially murky with Carter’s red flags. Again, I don’t love it at 6, but I don’t hate it and would understand it. Would still rather them trade back, and if they can’t would rather see Gonzalez.
-
The fact that they would pay him $15 million a year without a competent QB throwing to him — and then look to get rid of him when they get a pro bowl QB — says a lot about the shape the Broncos are in.
-
I think it means they were trying to hold a fire sale then realized buyers expected the price to be low. But Sutton makes too much money for a guy ESPN analytics has as the #62 receiver in the NFL (tied with TJ Hockenson, incidentally). https://projects.fivethirtyeight.com/nfl-receiver-rankings/

It sounds good as a slogan but he has had two drafts in which arguably the top prospect in each draft fell in his lap. We don’t know what he will do in this draft where there are so many question marks at his draft slot.
-
I don’t know the details of the case beyond the fact that the jury believed Cephus over his (two?) accusers. And it wasn’t even close. So I don’t know if it was a gross miscarriage of justice that he was acquitted, an indication that he was falsely accused, or something in between. I don’t think Carter’s legal troubles are disqualifying, necessarily. And I don’t even think his workout performance is necessarily disqualifying. But he is clearly immature. That’s an alarming prospect if you are considering paying a guy $30 million.
-
I doubt Anderson falls but if he does that’s great. Gonzalez has the athletic profile, tape, and upside to take at 6. Carter… if they think he can find his footing under their watchful eyes, then fingers crossed. Wilson… he seems like one of several lesser DL who are interchangeably mocked to us. I just don’t know. Skoronski arguably has the highest floor of any player in the draft.

He was acquitted in a jury trial. Unanimously. After just 45 minutes of deliberation. Maybe he's really guilty, but that jury didn't think so. https://www.sheboyganpress.com/story/opinion/2019/08/09/quintez-cephus-acquittal-shows-dangers-presuming-guilt-former-wisconsin-badgers-football-player/1966113001/ As far as I'm concerned, the only thing he is guilty of is being slow and fragile. But maybe this year he puts it all together.
