  1. I was under the impression we would have to shed a bad contract to get Forsberg and stay under the cap. It appears we could afford him without having to shed one of our bigger, awful contracts. So I was mistaken in thinking we'd have to shed a Chairot, Compher, Copp contract to afford Forsberg. I guess not. Nashville though would want a bad contract for the same reason San Jose wanted Wallman. You attach extra picks or a prospect in order for them to agree take on a bad contract. But given that we apparently don't need to clear cap space to afford Forsberg, that point is moot. I think a Forsberg deal I'd be comfortable with would look something like Forsberg for Danielson, Buium, a 1st and a 2nd. If it took a second 1st to get it done I might be ok with that. Is it a given that if we acquired Forsberg he would be behind Raymond on the depth chart? The guy did have 94 points a season ago.
  2. This is sad to learn that he passed away. I remember Lloyd wanting DeBord to take over the program from him when he retired. Thankfully that didn't happen and we got Rich Rod instead. Could DeBord have been worse than Rich Rod or Hoke were?
  3. I wouldn't put it past Holmes to draft Campbell and then let Rodriguez and/or Anzalone walk in the future. I would be mildly surprised if Campbell was drafted, but not shocked given that we love going BPA.
  4. I read that Wink Martindale died but then realized it was the game show host and not our defensive coordinator.
  5. If Nashville is in a full scale rebuild why not go after the big fish and try to trade for Filip Forsberg instead of 35 year old O'Reilly. If Nashville is going to tare it down and rebuild then I would presume they want top prospects and picks for a top guy like Forsberg. Both of which we can offer them. According to Spotrac it looks like the Preds will be $21 million under the cap next season, so they have room to take on a bad contract or two as well. We have bad contracts to give them along with picks and prospects.
  6. Trump or Musk? I'd say both.
  7. I don't know what type of player Danielson will end up being in the long run. I don't know what type of player Zach Benson will end up being in the long run. I do know that I wanted Benson at the time in the draft. Through two seasons of play Benson has logged 144 NHL games played with 21 goals and 58 points total in those games. It's nothing that lights the world on fire by any means but he is up contributing on the big league roster. We'll see if Danielson works out out to be the better choice or not.
  8. The symbolism of JD Vance breaking Ohio State's CFB National Championship trophy is amazing.
  9. This. Most everything with Trump is either to feed his own ego or transactional where he gets something out of it in the end. Either his ego was being fed by this Whitmer visit, which meant she almost certainly had to grovel to do so or she outright made a deal of some kind with him so that he would be perceived to benefit in some way.
  10. New country music from a new artist named William Beckmann. This is a simple, straight forward, twangy 90s-style country song. The stuff corporate radio radio won't touch anymore because it sounds too real and too authentic.
  11. Hopefully someone serves Trump his three eyed fish on a platter.
  12. Maybe I'm wrong about this, but I get major Josh Paschal vibes from Shemar Stewart. A guy that has tools to be a good all around player, but nothing special as a pass rushing, QB terrorizing guy on the edge. Like Paschal, Stewart has high athletic upside and as RAS score above 9. Like Paschal though, I don't see an Edge that can really get at the QB and disrupt plays. The production as a pass rushing Edge/DE just wasn't there in college and I get that there is more than just pure sack numbers to being a good pass rusher. I guess he had a 12% pressure rate at Texas A&M but he never logged more than 1.5 sacks in any season. He was a combine warrior, but the production simply wasn't there and I'm concerned as to why.
  13. Barack Obama ain't a fascist. Governors like JB Pritzker and Tim Walz have been fighting back hard against Trump, Whitmer is capitulating so she can try to get votes for her 2028 Presidential run in a state Trump won twice. She's no better than a John Fetterman at this point.
  14. WOW, screw this. What is she doing here? She's submarining her 2028 Presidential campaign for sure.
  15. Are we sure Yzerman won't pull a Kenny and bring Petry back? We all thought Dan Clearly would be gone and Kenny resigned him three times.
  16. 125% LOL. The writers, producers, and actors put all that work into creating VEEP when they could have just followed Trump around with a camera and gotten funnier footage.
  17. Well fudge, that's the season. Missed opportunities with open nets defined the game tonight and missed opportunities defined the season. Another year in the Yzerman regime where we fail to make the playoffs.
  18. Where is DOGE to call out the waste, fraud, and abuse of Trump's alleged $92 million military parade???
  19. Maybe this will work, but my hopes aren't high for this as a remake. The Naked Gun is the Naked Gun without Leslie Nielsen as Lieutenant Detective Frank Drebin. Nielsen is what made the Naked Gun work so well. This has always been one of my favorite scenes in the series.
  20. The same folks who think that Drag Queens harm children while allowing their children to sit alone with members of clergy.
  21. Everyone ought treat Talbot for dinner at whatever restaurant he wants after the game. Grey Ghost, Selden Standard, The Whitney, Joe Muers. That dude saved their ass again tonight.
  22. I don't understand this team at all. They can go out and beat two of the best teams in the East back to back. But they can also go entire games in a row without a single point after coming back from the 4 Nations. Will the real Detroit Red Wings please stand up.
  23. I was up in Lansing today exercising my 1st Amendment right and protesting. There were probably around 3,000 or so people there. Lt. Governor Garlin Gilchrist spoke, as did Attorney General Dana Nessel, and a few of the State Representatives.
  24. Brand is a Grade A piece of **** human being if these allegations are true, which I believe them to be. He is yet another online podcaster/political hack who completed his grift from left to right when it suited him.
  25. Do you feel this team would be more successful without Hendrickson on it then? If the goal is to win a Super Bowl, doesn't Hendrickson on this team in the immediate here and now for next season help get us closer to achieving that goal? Howie Roseman and the Eagles went out and made two big moves when they signed Saquon Barkley and Bryce Huff and that certainly worked out in their favor and helped get them to a Super Bowl. The year before the 49'ers made a big move and added Javon Hargrave, who was a big part of their defense that got them to a Super Bowl.
