  1. simply hover over someone's avatar, and click "Ignore"; try it; it is both fun and easy!
  2. people see what they want to see yes, he extended Schoop; spent on Baez, ERod and Chafin last winter; splurged on Barnhart and brought in Meadows late. he made the biggest offer to Correa (but people tell me that's proof he is cheap as he knew Correa would reject it) Avila brought in new tech and new people and that cost money. but no one really knows if Chris thwarted Avila's master plan by saying no to a signing or a trade or a tech or a hire. I suspect the fact that Avila's low payroll helped get the Tigers into the black made Chris happy
  3. Chris would probably give Harris a raise if Miggy's $8M buyout was the biggest contract for 2024.
  4. churn (low K; high BB for Diego)
  5. agree. i have seen some people posting that they hope both Baez and ERod opt out; if healthy, they both should easily match their current deals, so no risk in opting out. another thing Harris needs to deal with
  6. Malloy is probably now the best (only?) RH batting OF across 4 levels Det-Tol-Erie-WMI. Braves fans do not appear to be too happy with deal which is a good sign
  7. improving this horrible team should be as easy as falling out of a row boat
  8. ugh. no trades and no signings, but really busy? when you are in a boat with a myriad of holes, just start by patching one; any one
  9. he could still be average or above average, but if he carries one of the worst bats in MLB again, it won't matter anyway
  10. Jansen, Quintana, Taillon gone.
  11. rare to see teams with biggest offer not land a player, but Judge and Turner took less. Yankees paid almost $150M more than their last/best spring training offer. SF has to sign Correa now? And Atl probably cannot let Swanson go considering Phillies and NYM spend. LAD have holes and money still. 6 big names to go: Correa, Swanson, Contreras, Xander, Rodon and Nimmo
  12. $1.55M was difference last year between slots 3 and 6
  13. going to be painful to wait a few more weeks, but after most free agents have signed, then Lange, Soto, Jimenez, and even Haase and ERod might look a lot better than they do now, in terms of talent, control and $$$
  14. no trades; a handful of big deals; mostly these guys are just banging hookers and doing blow?
  15. Competitive Balance Pick currently at 36
  16. lottery is 830 tonight difference between 1 and 9 is about $4m to play with Tigers will have 3 of the top 50 picks regardless
  17. don't mind them passing on the draft, but I doubt they have not discussed
  18. after he wins a WS, then you can fire him for not being efficient
  19. Kyle Gibson's contract with Baltimore is 1/10M; rather have Boyd
  20. new reports are 2/86.66, so exactly equal to Max? plus a $35M player option if JV hits 140 innings in 2024
  21. JV to Mets 2/86.8 Just beats Max's 43.3 AAV.
  22. hopefully this will become an irrelevant exercise to the organization sooner rather than later looking at https://www.fangraphs.com/players/gabriel-martinez/sa3008865/stats?position=OF https://www.fangraphs.com/players/andres-chaparro/sa916976/stats?position=3B https://www.fangraphs.com/players/ryan-noda/sa873960/stats?position=1B/OF https://www.fangraphs.com/players/thad-ward/sa3008098/stats?position=P https://www.fangraphs.com/players/jayden-murray/sa1170405/stats?position=P https://www.fangraphs.com/players/tj-sikkema/sa3011191/stats?position=P https://www.fangraphs.com/players/erik-miller/sa3011336/stats?position=P might lose https://www.fangraphs.com/players/elvis-alvarado/sa919291/stats?position=P/OF
  23. not franchise altering, but holding onto Chafin because he misread the market and Chafin's decision, perfectly demonstrates the failures of Avila The Tigers’ situation with Chafin was particularly difficult. Detroit shopped him as a reliever contenders could have for a season and a half thanks to the two-year contract he signed as a free agent last March. However, many teams viewed him as a rental due to the opt-out clause in his contract. Detroit decided to keep Chafin at the Deadline, believing they could hold onto him for 2023. Instead, Chafin opted out, hoping to take advantage of a thin free-agent relief market, leaving the Tigers with nothing in return.
  24. Boyd's contract will look quite normal soon
