he would be a great fit for Tigers; I doubt Tor trades him away as they would become almost exclusively RH with position players; don't know if any Det OF interests Tor, but they clearly want a CF, and LH OF bats Josh Smith and Ezekiel Duran of Tex are blocked by Simien, Seager and Jung; one or both would be a good pick up

That's about $9M saved in salary or about $7M when factoring a minimum salary for a 40 man roster guy. They should absolutely spend this winter, though there seems to be a very small middle class of position players, which makes it complicated.
