  1. Tiger Rookies opened their season today with a 3-1 win, as they try to defend their Florida Complex League title.
  2. first time I ever saw a pitcher try to leave the mound and have the manager say, nope I've no one up throwing so you're staying in
  3. ESPN ranks Pistons future draft pick assets as 7th best. https://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/44938717/nba-draft-asset-rankings-stacking-all-30-teams-pick-collections
  4. Clark has a .467 OBP in 105 PAs. not bad!
  5. Stewart is so underpaid, all teams in cap hell will be eyeing him. Don't get pick swaps below; Lakers and Pistons will have comparable regular season records over the next 3 years. https://sports.yahoo.com/nba/article/lakers-need-to-overhaul-roster-around-luka-doncic-and-lebron-james-5-trade-targets-for-la-054728537.html The proposal- Lakers receive: Stewart, Lindy Waters III Pistons receive: Dalton Knecht, Gabe Vincent, Shake Milton and two pick swaps in 2026 and 2028 Beef Stew and LeBron James may have some, well, beef dating back to the 2021 tussle in which both were suspended, but if James wants an elite rim protector, it’ll be harder to find one better than Detroit’s 23-year-old center. Stewart took a backseat to rising star Jalen Duren in 2024-25, but with a near 7-foot-5 wingspan, Stewart remains a monster in the paint. This past season, Stewart led all players in defensive field-goal percentage at the rim, allowing just 46% shooting by the basket while nearby, according to NBA.com player-tracking data (min. over 200 shots defended). As for the Pistons, they acquire much-needed backcourt depth (Dennis Schröder, Tim Hardaway Jr. and Malik Beasley are all free agents) and one of the most promising young shooters in Knecht to flank Cade Cunningham. I could see the Pistons demanding a first-round pick if they were to part with Stewart, but Knecht’s upside as a sharpshooter could be enough.
  6. Dan might know very well that TEs are fungible.
  7. Next year’s team, still very young: C – Duren (21), Stewart (24) PF – Harris (33) SF – Thompson (22), Holland (20) SG – Ivey (23) PG – Cunningham (24) 6 of top 7 have their best ball ahead of them. IMO Sasser (25), Fontecchio (29), Klintman (22) are not current or even future rotation guys, happy to be proven wrong. Needs: 1. Better 3-point shooting from every position. 2. PF of the future. 3. Continued growth: Ivey, Thompson and even Duren IMO have pretty high ceilings. 4. G who can allow Cade to rest, occasionally play off ball; could be Ivey? Picks - They traded their 1st and 2nd round picks; they have Toronto’s 2nd (37), and lots of 2nd round picks '28 to '31 to move up Trade - Sasser, Fontecchio, Klintman combined only make $13M Cap space -If they renounce everyone they have ~$28M Either Schoeder or Beasley returning might make sense if $ and years are logical. But neither of them would be my 1st choice to fill their roles.
  8. reiterating what others said, its been a long time since they were relevant. so very glad to emerge from the wasteland! keep it moving forward Langdon.
  9. really feels like Pistons lost this series, rather than Knicks winning it
  10. Trump appointed federal judge rules Trump cannot use wartime statute to disappear brown people to slave prisons.
  11. the Tigers will make a legit offer (some may even call it a serious offer) but they can and likely will be outbid by other teams, like the Mets.
  12. I am still boggled by the asymmetry of it all Biden was constantly dinged for completely made-up slights of Americans consumers hit by inflation, and Harris paid the price for that. Trump actually tells Americans they need to suffer and have less due to his policies, and - so far - he and MAGA are pretty much unscathed.
  13. I cannot wait for the public school madrasa in Dearborn to be opened!
  14. shocking how you can now trust the Tiger's staff to actually develop players, so to me, HS or College, arm or bat, whatever. They seem to have found a successful formula after decades and decades of failure. IMO there is still a strong correlation between volume of high picks and success rate, meaning give yourself as many turns as you can to find a legit ML player. Keep the CB pick every year. Acquire more CB picks if you can. Spend and grab a falling player in later rounds who is actually not going to college. 2020 draft picks:
  15. getting Rodman-esque vibes from Ausar's defense. the guy has only played 1.5 years and is pretty good right now.
  16. the message will be "a shrinking economy is good for you! it only hurts libtards!" - MAGA will eat it up I doubt the media will bother to explain it is all Trump's fault, so MAGA message will continue to dominate
  17. Brunson cannot get by Ausar with a healthy ankle; if he's slowed down from the ankle .....
  18. SSS all around, but 1 month in, hitters generally producing - Cark, Briceno, Rainer, Liranzo, Franyerber. Callahan, Anderson, Peck, Stephenson are pleasant surprises. Maybe Bigbee too. Lee and Rucker are scuffling. McGonigle injured. If you squint really hard you can see a ML player in Campos - but no HRs in Erie so far. Gold, Serretti, Payton Graham, Izzac Pecheco - yikes.
  19. the 2021, 22, and 23 drafts may literally be the best 3 year run ever. 8 of 23 players drafted (35%) are Allpro. I actually like 25 class over 24 class. this does not include UDFAs. 1 Penei Sewell 7 All world 2 Levi Onwuzurike 41 Part time starter on 2nd contract 3 Alim McNeill 72 All pro 3 Ifeatu Melifonwu 101 Productive player on 2nd contract 4 Amon-Ra St. Brown 112 All pro 4 Derrick Barnes 113 Part time starter on 2nd contract 7 Jermar Jefferson 257 7R hung around roster bubble for years 1 Aidan Hutchinson 2 All pro 1 Jameson Williams 12 Talented, but not altogether 2 Josh Paschal 46 Part time starter on 2nd contract 3 Kerby Joseph 97 All pro 5 James Mitchell 177 Some talent, not a good fit 6 Malcolm Rodriguez 188 Fantastic value for 6R 6 James Houston 217 Some talent, was not a good fit 7 Chase Lucas 237 7R hung around, signed with new team 1 Jahmyr Gibbs 12 All pro 1 Jack Campbell 18 Starter 2 Sam LaPorta 34 Starter all pro 2 Brian Branch 45 Starter all pro 3 Hendon Hooker 68 Unknown, trending sideways as best 3 Brodric Martin 96 Unknown, looks like 1st true miss 5 Colby Sorsdal 152 Not bad for 5R, not going to make '25 roster 7 Antoine Green 219 Hanging around 1 Terrion Arnold 24 Starter, solid but not impactful 2 Ennis Rakestraw 61 Injuries held him back, solid backup? 4 Giovanni Manu 126 Total wildcard - if '26 starter, another HR for Brad, could be nothing 4 Sione Vaki 132 Not sure what Brad was so excited about 6 Mekhi Wingo 189 Fantastic value for 6R 6 Christian Mahogany 210 Fantastic value for 6R, starter in '25 1 Tyleik Williams 28 If he comes close to Alim, then A pick 2 Tate Ratledge 57 Starter in '25? 3 Isaac TeSlaa 70 If starts in '26, then A pick 5 Miles Frazier 171 Fantastic value for 5R? 6 Ahmed Hassanein 196 Perfect culture fit, can he produce in '26? 7 Dan Jackson 230 ST guy, any more than that? 7 Dominic Lovett 244 ST guy, can he make roster?
  20. Tork-Carp-Greene 0-10, Maeda pitches, Tigers win 7-0, first in AL to 18 wins. I'll take that.
  21. Louis Riddick before the draft had TeSlaa as a 2nd round talent Isaac TeSlaa, WR, Arkansas TeSlaa is going to be a problem for opponents as a slot receiver at the next level. His size (6-foot-3, 214 pounds), speed (4.43) and explosive movement traits make him a matchup nightmare in the middle of the field. Despite his bigger frame, he can get off the line with good foot quickness, hits another gear when he gets to the third level and tracks the deep ball well. TeSlaa also shows the body control in the short/intermediate pass game to get separation against man coverage, along with the instincts to uncover when facing zone. He ultimately finished last season with 28 catches for 546 yards and three scores. But with size, speed, hands, after-the-catch upside and the ability to put defenders on the ground as a blocker, the lack of big-time production doesn't phase me. I like his skill set a lot, and I'm watching for TeSlaa to come off the board by the end of Round 2.
  22. the only DTs signed for 2026 are Amil, Williams, and Wingo. I think this pick is going to be much more appreciated 18 months from now.
  23. day 2 mocks: I'd be happy with either PFF: 60. Detroit Lions: EDGE Landon Jackson, Arkansas Jackson is a fundamentally sound player with alluring length and surprising cornering ability for a player of his size. His overall pass-rush win percentage has been low throughout his career, which presents him as a high-floor, versatile defensive end who can be a solid starter for odd or even fronts. CBS: 60. Wyatt Milum OT The Lions select a grinder who knows how to win ugly and can play guard or tackle in the NFL.
  24. PFF; I guess this is a C 28) Detroit Lions: DI Tyleik Williams, Ohio State Pick Grade: Average It was inevitable that the Lions were going defensive line, and they didn’t disappoint with a run-stuffing tackle. Williams’ 88.6 run-defense grade was one of the best of the class, as was his 7.8% run-stop rate. While he doesn’t win as a pass-rusher consistently, he fits the Lions' need for pocket pushers from the interior to let Aidan Hutchinson clean up on the edge. While he has the frame to play 3-technique, he likely fits better as a nose tackle for the Lions.
