Cade is looking more and more comfortable. Could be a fun second half of the season seeing him develop. Need some better defense though. Phoenix is making scoring look too easy. -

While I would like another top 3 pick, is it as crucial this year as last year? I would say no. We have a lot riding on Cade now and free agency is an option to get him some help as well. -

Diallo really started to shine when Cade was out and now he is continuing to find a role with Cade back. I would say that is the basis of my comments. I was never concerned about Bey. As far as positions go, I do find it interesting that the Pistons still list Cade as a starting guard and Diallo as a starting forward. It doesn't really matter who is listed where but I do prefer Cade defending bigger/ slower guys than smaller/quicker guys. And I do think the easiest path to project success forward at this point is some kind of lineup that includes Cade and Bey next to two other wing players (including a point guard). Similar to what they are doing now. But I am more a seller than buyer on Hayes at this point. Not that I don't think he can't carve out a productive career but I am just not sure I want it to be as a starter with the Pistons. -

Looks like Cade, Bey, and Diallo all had nice games. That's encouraging. I think Diallo is getting close to the point now where you feel like he is part of your future. He has fit in as a role player next to Cade better than I expected given that he is not really a shooter. But he does a good job of blending in, picking his spots, and scoring efficiently. -

I'd like to see more usage for Diallo. The efficiency has been there for the most part this year. -

Another reason to trade Jerami Grant...I think it helps Cade on defense. He doesn't have to chase around a guard that is quicker than him. -
Does anybody else have any interest in Collin Sexton besides me? Seems like a great chance to buy low on a player because Cleveland has Garland and is looking for more playoff help.
-
I don't know that Stewart is the long term answer but I don't think he hinders the starters near to the extent that Hayes does. Hayes needs to go to the bench for his own good because he is basically not getting developed out there with Cade running the offense.
-
I agree and would add there are varying levels of 3 and d guys and he should be near the top because he needs so little space to get a good shot up. There was one play last night Cade kicked it out to Saddiq and it was a bad pass that allowed the defense to recover but Saddiq was still able to get the shot up and knock it down.
-
Hopefully Cade can finish this one strong. Nice to finally see some of that #1 pick potential. I love Saddiq but man he is so much better shooting any kind of jump shot than he is going to the rim and shooting some kind of wild runner/layup. He is a big time weapon though I think with the right players around him. Another non impactul game for Hayes. Let him come off the bench where he can play less of a supporting role. He just disappears out there next to Cade. Diallo continues to play well though. Low volume since Cade came back but he's at least efficient.

I know I am in the minority but spending a high draft pick on a receiver is not my first choice. They do need another guy but I think this team needs to be great on defense with the quarterback situation what it is. They are on their way to having a great offensive line. They should be spending their capital and resources in the offseason on defense as much as possible. I don't know what Chris Godwin would cost but I would love to get him on a 1 year deal at a reasonable deal.

Goff was getting another year no matter what happened this year The problem the Lions have is that they are going to take 2 or 3 years to figure out what most people already know...you are up against it if Goff your #1 quarterback. Almost everything else will have to fall in place perfectly to win a Super Bowl. And then they will be scrambling to find their next quarterback once they realize this.

His mechanics seem fine to me. I am hoping it is just taking a year to adjust to the deeper line. Next year will be telling. -

Cade and Diallo showing some nice chemistry tonight. It would be nice for that to continue to grow. Diallo has been quiet since Cade came back. Cade continues to struggle with poor shooting nights but I thought this was a solid all around game for him. I'd like to see this team with another good wing next to Bey, Cunningham, and Diallo. Killian is just giving us nothing right now. -

It's hard not to be at least a little bit disappointed. I was convinced before the season that at the very least, we could make him our main facilitator on offense. Now I am wondering if it would help him long term to play next to a more traditional point. He is a really good passer but so far, I just don't think the offense functions well when he is the primary ball handler. -
People who think this is a weak quarterback draft are deluded to the fact they think they can predict how a quarterback is going to adjust to the NFL. Relative to other quarterback drafts, it is pretty much impossible to predict how this qb draft will turn out. Especially when you consider there is no obvious number 1 who is a relatively safe bet.

It is really starting to feel like the Greg Oden/Kevin Durant draft. -

Diallo and Frank Jackson both showed enough last season that I was mildly excited about them going into this year. Jackson was the guy I was actually higher on but Diallo appears to be the guy breaking out. I'd feel a little better about him if he was a good free throw shooter. He's probably never going to be much of a three point shooter so he needs to make hay in the paint and at the line. Crossing my fingers at least some of this sustainable and he becomes our next Christian Wood like find. -
4 weeks ago there was nobody in the state of Michigan who thought Goff was our quarterback of the future. Then he has a few good games and now all the sudden everybody has got their hopes up. Big mistake.
-
Unfortunately the NFL is a league where it's nearly impossible to win big and have sustained success without a good to great qb. I don't think the Lions have a choice. And it's such a crapshoot that I don't think it's even that bad of a bet. Take one every year until you find one. Otherwise, enjoy NFL purgatory.
-
And that team disposed of him because they thought he was the main thing holding them back.
-
I mean...I guess anything could happen. Everything would have to come together just perfect though for this to happen. Not a smart way to build your future.
-
I can't believe some fans are coming around on Goff after a few good games. I may need to root for Goff to be awful the last two games so the Lions don't have any delusions that he is their quarterback of the future. I get we are stuck with him another year and that is fine. But they have to draft a quarterback in this draft sometime in the first 3 or 4 rounds. Then you just cross your fingers and hope for the best. It's not easy to find a quarterback but you have to at least try.

Man, how many threes would Houstan take in today's game? He could average 25 points per game. I loved Lindsey Hunter today but he was never a great fit as a point guard. My recollection is the Pistons always tried to fit him into the traditional point guard role even though Grant Hill could handle the role just fine. Today, I think people are much more accepting of non traditional basketball roles, especially in the NBA.
