  1. I didn't listen, just watched, and didn't follow up but man... if you charge someone like that you gotta do better.
  2. I recall when Obama was POTUS, he went to a diner or something and the person helping him was black. Now everybody knows black people talk different with other black people. So when the guy asked Obama if he wanted his change, Obama replied "Naw, we straight". I don't remember if the reporters cleaned it up or not but I remember it being discussed on a page I used to follow, National Review's Corner, which was a running block where their folks would sort of comment on stuff. They definitely didn't want them to clean it up because you know.... you gotta emphasize the guy is black and just like the mag cover of the Oval Office Fist Bump.... decorum in the WH went downhill once the blacks got in there, right? There goes the neighborhood. Pretty soon there'll be cookouts on the WH Lawn.
  3. https://www.baseball-reference.com/boxes/DET/DET198806210.shtml 3 walks in the bottom of the 9th, two were with the bases loaded to make it 6-3. All 3 games that weekend were walk off wins. The night before Brookens hit a walk off. I remember that one more than the Trammell one for some reason. I was out with a friend and his dad picked us up, we asked about the game and he just said "Tommy Brookens!" That stuck with me.
  4. Have you seen the house on Pelham, just N of Outer Dr with the big banner of Trump raising his fist after some glass cut his hear?
  5. The thing about supression is that's where the ground game comes in and from what I see Kamala has a tremendous ground game. In 2020 we were still dealing with covid issues and all of that. I can't help but think turnout on the D side will be very high based on what we see at the rallies. Our local democratic club has burned through 3 batches of signs.
  6. When you are in a situation where a service worker is doing their job and you say “thanks” or “thank you” and they reply “no problem”. like they did you a favor. The Ritz Carlton used to instruct their employees to never say “no problem” or “you’re welcome”. They should say “my pleasure”. Chik Fil A adopted that too.
  7. It’s a variant on these greetings: Hey, there he is they let anybody in here staying out of trouble?
  8. To be fair he was here for leylands jersey retirement.
  9. He's done that before. If you saw that video a year ago you'd think "That's just a dad going into to get some donuts and pies and talking to the staff in a friendly but not patronizing way" If you saw JD's video a year ago you'd think "Why is this guy wearing a suit and buying donuts but acting like he doesn't really want any donuts?"
  10. I got to "meet" him last year the day he signed and they brought him into town. I had to get some tickets from my rep and I was waiting in the Tigers lobby for him to come down. Then Max and his family came in. Felt weird because his parents looked my age and the math works out, I see all the young players now with birth years of 2000-2002. I just said "hi". Didn't want to intrude or whatever. They were waiting for someone to come down too. Everyone who enters Comerica Park goes through the metal detector, players and media too.
  11. It would be great if Clark does well, I'll be happy, but he strikes me as a guy from a travel team who worried too much about all if his "gear". His sliding glove, his glasses, his sweat band, etc. Sure when you can back it up, it's flashy. But it's kind of annoying. Just play.
  12. a cross or bible verse as well.
  13. and maybe the kids live 70 miles from grandma and grandpa or auntie and uncle. I remember once on social media talking about someting similar and a former member of this site said "Well traditionally you would have a family member help out with that rather than make it society's problem". A social worker friend of mine jumped in immediately calling him out for not understanding that many people don't have anybody to help them. My mother in law said something similar to my wife who had to tell her she has a lot of patients who are expected to survive on SS disability with no means to work and nobody to help them. $975 a month doesn't go far. Such narrow minded fools. They have no empathy and that's one reason I quit being a conservative. Not everybody is fortunate enough to come from "good stock".
  14. agree. It comes across as petty. Like something a jealous girlfriend would do when her old boyfriend has a new girlfriend and appears happier, even though the parting was mutual, if not initiated by her. Aren't Lions fans happier now than they were then?
  15. You don't think he'd take a managing job if he got the chance? I don't know the answer to that but if he's got that ambition...? I'm sure his contract states he can leave for a 'promotion' if he wanted it. Seeing how the org has hired front office people the way they have I don't think he'd leave over money. I'm sure he's paid well. A cheap org doesn't hire a Harris and Greenberg and keep the others like Sartori and Mezin the way this org has.
  16. It was supposed to be over when they played Boston It was supposed to be over when they played New York It was supposed to be over when they played Seattle It was supposed to be over when they played Cleveland I'm not suggesting they are in it, I never thought they were. Just enjoy it. I'm suggesting this team is showing us who they have been all season long. A team that with a few breaks could win 87 games or setbacks could lose 87 games. The seaon always has peaks and valleys. That's what .500 teams look like. They don't suck because they have some elements of good pitching to sustain them and get a few guys hot here and there. But they will lose games like this.
  17. There's a lot going on here...
  18. strange how age being an issue in the campaign went away. It's not. Just indicative.
  19. I've been outside of Petco field. Last year we went to SD for vacation and went downtown one night for dinner. They have a "Gaslamp" district with cool restaurants and shops. There was a concert going on and they had streets blocked off for the trucks so I couldn't get too close. San Diego was perfect. Everything was 20 minutes away.
  20. I think his only play is to pretend to be all in on being pro life. He's not going to soften the pro choice vote by pretending to be on their side a little bit. But he does risk losing the hardline pro lifers if he tries it. How much is that risk? I am skeptical but you can't afford to lose very many. But in the end I think they'll still vote for him so who knows.
  21. Me too. I used to go to Mason's a lot when I worked at plymouth and Middlebelt. I've been to Red Coat once... Not a fan of Miller's but I admit it's been 20 years at least. They recently sold to new owners. I think burgers are getting out of hand at some places. But I love a basic bar burger and if done right it's all you need. If you come to Dearborn and want something I think is better than Miller's try Fall's Sports Lounge. That's my go to bar burger now.
  22. Frankly I don't think there's anything in the files that is interesting or revealing as it relates to what happened. I think they are still classified because some people referenced are still alive, or people close to a person, are still alive. Or they could just be salacious or gossipy. There's no smoking gun.
  23. There's one at Starbucks on MI avenue every Saturday when we go in around 10. My wife thought she had it figured out who it belonged to but the last time we went in, that guy wasn't there.
  24. i was just listening to the Love Song last week. I made a playlist of 1989 Power Ballads. That was a good year for those.
