  1. You don't think he'd take a managing job if he got the chance? I don't know the answer to that but if he's got that ambition...? I'm sure his contract states he can leave for a 'promotion' if he wanted it. Seeing how the org has hired front office people the way they have I don't think he'd leave over money. I'm sure he's paid well. A cheap org doesn't hire a Harris and Greenberg and keep the others like Sartori and Mezin the way this org has.
  2. It was supposed to be over when they played Boston It was supposed to be over when they played New York It was supposed to be over when they played Seattle It was supposed to be over when they played Cleveland I'm not suggesting they are in it, I never thought they were. Just enjoy it. I'm suggesting this team is showing us who they have been all season long. A team that with a few breaks could win 87 games or setbacks could lose 87 games. The seaon always has peaks and valleys. That's what .500 teams look like. They don't suck because they have some elements of good pitching to sustain them and get a few guys hot here and there. But they will lose games like this.
  3. There's a lot going on here...
  4. strange how age being an issue in the campaign went away. It's not. Just indicative.
  5. I've been outside of Petco field. Last year we went to SD for vacation and went downtown one night for dinner. They have a "Gaslamp" district with cool restaurants and shops. There was a concert going on and they had streets blocked off for the trucks so I couldn't get too close. San Diego was perfect. Everything was 20 minutes away.
  6. I think his only play is to pretend to be all in on being pro life. He's not going to soften the pro choice vote by pretending to be on their side a little bit. But he does risk losing the hardline pro lifers if he tries it. How much is that risk? I am skeptical but you can't afford to lose very many. But in the end I think they'll still vote for him so who knows.
  7. Me too. I used to go to Mason's a lot when I worked at plymouth and Middlebelt. I've been to Red Coat once... Not a fan of Miller's but I admit it's been 20 years at least. They recently sold to new owners. I think burgers are getting out of hand at some places. But I love a basic bar burger and if done right it's all you need. If you come to Dearborn and want something I think is better than Miller's try Fall's Sports Lounge. That's my go to bar burger now.
  8. Frankly I don't think there's anything in the files that is interesting or revealing as it relates to what happened. I think they are still classified because some people referenced are still alive, or people close to a person, are still alive. Or they could just be salacious or gossipy. There's no smoking gun.
  9. There's one at Starbucks on MI avenue every Saturday when we go in around 10. My wife thought she had it figured out who it belonged to but the last time we went in, that guy wasn't there.
  10. i was just listening to the Love Song last week. I made a playlist of 1989 Power Ballads. That was a good year for those.
  11. I think the Aztec was ahead of its time. It spawned the crossover market but my theory is it was just intended as a concept but someone too high up the food chain, like a finance guy rather than a car guy, really liked it and nobody had th guts to explain the situation. Concepts are extreme. They aren’t meant for mass production. Just to show elements.
  12. and if he never played for the Tigers then Chris McCosky has no reason to suck up or kiss his ass.
  13. I mean.... PA is an open carry state. A guy with an AR-15 is probably some patriotic dude looking to be that good guy with a gun. Why should the cops worry about him? You can generaally find a lawyer willin to sue anyone for anything. I'm not suggesting Trump's campaign is responsible because I don't know the rules, the law, etc. None of us really do. Just explaining how it's possible there's a lawsuit. A lawsuit itself is not an indication of guilt and it's not prosecutorial. It's just a lawyer with a pen, which from the Godfather book, is said "A lawyer with a briefcase is more powerful than a hundred men with guns"
  14. "you are not being a team player"
  15. I always learned that good organizations fire people who tell the bosses what they don't want to hear, whether it's valid or not.
  16. I think it's different when it's a sitting President, who is their boss, and "just a protectee" which is now as a former POTUS and candidate. A sitting President being protected isn't just about his own safety, it's the nuclear codes and other sensitive info. That is also their repsonsibility. My other guess at this is that the USSS sets up the perimeter and is responsible for that. They are not responsible for the logistics, where the stage is set up, etc. Areas outside of the perimeter... they can't guarantee anything. But there's enough there for a lawyer to think there's a case. If I got to a Tigers game and get shot by someone.... I can sue the hosts of the event. In this scenario Trump's campaign was the host. I worked security for the beaitifucation mass of Fr. Solanus that was held here about 7 years ago. It was at Ford Field. It was a global ceremony and a huge deal. The biggest security event held in that building since the Super Bowl. The Archdiocese was responsible for security even though the FBI and Homeland Security were involved as well.
  17. yeah I think it's just simply teams get an off day Mon-Thur so they had them play Thursday and didn't want to have an empty Monday. Both teams had been playing for 2 weeks or more. I don't know how much say a home team gets in terms of whether a day off is Monday or Tuesday.
  18. A few years ago our school district had a big thing about "gay books" being in the Library and we saw the convergence of fundamentalist christian and muslims at school board meeings protesting. One resident said "They can be gay when they are 18" This is the mindset we're battling.
  19. .500 on the road, unless it involves the White Sox, is pretty much all you can reasonably expect. That's always been my expectations. Especially when you play a team with a better record.
  20. I always get hateful eight and Django mixed up.
  21. Especially if the game were on MLB network and Costas did the game. He’d spend the whole game talking about it. He doesn’t understand that most of the viewers have been paying attention all year but in his case it’s the first game he’s seen all year.
  22. I don’t think it’s a secret that Sparky and HoJo didn’t get along.
  23. That’s the role the media has taken up and look where it gets them. They are abused drug addicts who stay with the guy who beats them and pimps them out because they still need to get stoned.
  24. It sounds like they are using an AI version of Ernie’s voice and it’s mispronouncing all the names. Cheap.
