  1. With binary choices you will be correct enough times to warrant them to keep going. You have a 50/50 chance of being "right" and with only 2 choices available then I don't put stock into the opinion because I had just as much of a chanc eof being right as well. Like theories on whether a baby will be a boy or a girl depending on some old wives tale.
  2. The media have been very poor this cycle with their narratives and analysis in this cycle.
  3. Yeah it's just one person but Charlie Langton talked to a black guy yesterday at the polls who basically said "My people were lynched for the right to vote and I'm not messing around with it"
  4. I am pretty sure Israel has made that offer with regard to hostages and a cease fire but Hamas doesn't actually want a cease fire. They don't care if Palestenians die.
  5. A little of both I think. In some cases I don't blame people. It depends on your goals and who you work for. If it's a corporation that doesn't do much else for you and you are just there to make money so you can live... then I won't care if you do the bare minimum. You don't owe them anything extra. It's not a charity. Don't be a sucker. I"m thinking about service type jobs where you as a worker have choices and options. She's in health care so they have that. In my opinoin in an industry like that the mroal duty to serve is on the entity, not the individual. If the entity wants to be a bunch of bean counters with no soul then it's not fair to expect the employees to pick up the slack because of their own work ethic and sacrifice rather than hire more staff.
  6. S'all Good man.... There was a place near me that had a large space with a stage and we loved going there for the music. They sponsored our softball team for 2 seasons. I miss it. If the place has a stage or permanent space for a band then I get it... you have to know going in that is a possibility.
  7. I remember that day well. It rained really hard. They took the girl near the train tracks by southfield fwy and shot her. I drive by the spot all the freaking time and think about it a lot.
  8. All this talk about my hometown means I have to extend an invite now to anyone to come have a drink or sandwich with me. My treat. My brewery doesn’t serve food but we can visit my friend Sam who will give us more food than we can eat.
  9. From having friends run for council I learned that showings in primaries can be misleading in terms of passion. That 5,000 number could be a maximum. For example in a crowded primary for 7 council seats with 17 candidates on the ballot you would see a crowded and mixed field with everyone around 1 to 2 thousand votes. But you can’t assume the top vote getters carry over. Someone like me runs then all my friends and family vote for me. That’s all I got. I tap out. Come the general then the incumbents pick up the non primary voters who know their names. A fifth place finisher in the primary can be the top finisher in the election. The passion behind that uncommitted vote drew them to the polls. Those who care about Gaza voted. That’s their top line number now.
  10. If I were a worker and heard that I would give them the nonpartisan because you don’t announce to the worker who you are voting for. They aren’t there to help you fill out the ballot. I didn’t know there was a nonpartisan ballot. They didn’t ask me. I was aksed Republican or Democrat. Then English or Arabic.
  11. “These people who butcher gays and restrict women don’t like these other people because they live here so we gotta be on their side” I mean… it kind of sounds like what white people were saying when bussing of blacks took place. “What are they doing here? Get them out. We don’t want them around”.
  12. How do you figure Israel is the wealthiest? Where do you rank Saudi Arabia? Turkey? UAE? They have higher GDP.
  13. Yes. I’ve been careful to not respond to his tweets because my son is a city employee under him.
  14. It’s going going to drop about 50 degrees in 30 hours.
  15. I’d bet Russia is behind Hamas. It helps them in Ukraine. Every time we help Ukraine the Arabs go ape ****.
  16. The left hold Israel to a higher standard. Why? Anti Semitism? Fear of getting slaughtered in a terrorist attack? Being patronizing, as in, “well they just don’t know any better. This is how they do things. Don’t judge. Even if it gets you killed” The Palestinians, via their governmen, punched Israel hard. Now they are getting punched back and whining about it. Why is the burden always on Israel to concede and give more? A child hostage is treated equally by the left as a terrorist hostage. It makes no sense and the left loses a lot of its moral high ground in this.
  17. Isn't a sign more about Hamas and Israel more than Biden? What exactly do you people think Biden does in this war? It's not his ****ing war. He didn't start it. He's not fighting it. You act like he's wanting all of this to happen and finally changed his mind because 10,000 people said something to him.
  18. I got my new blower in Dec 2021, when a huge storm was coming and my wife saw a news story about a 50 year old having a heart attack shoveling. So I got the last one at Lowe's. I've used it 4 times and two of those times was just to use it, the snow wasn't heavy or deep. Not once this year. When it did snow for that week here it was followed quickly by an ice storm so I go ahead of it and got the 2 inches or whatever out of the way. After that the ice was too lumpy. I want my $1000 back! I could have went to one of the Lions playoff games for that.
  19. I did. I was going to vote for Haley but then this nonsense came up.
  20. Yes he was.
  21. I was #550 on Friday afternoon, after a week of voting. I assume that means 550 voted before me? It ran until Sunday I believe. We had one central early location. So we will see how things play out here. My son works at the center and said anytime he went near the gym where it was set up he dind't see anybody except workers.
  22. The mayor here is very young. When he ran for the state house in 2016 he ran against the WWE Wrestler, Rino, a local.
  23. I think it has to do with the individual Arabs/Muslims and where they are from and when they got here. It's very tribal and you get people from Iraq going after Yemenis and all the while the Syrians and Lebanese look down on them because they've been here for couple of generations already. Probably the same way non whites look at conflicts in places like the UK between England and Ireland and Northern Ireland and Wales.... "Whats the matter with you people?" A real Hatfields and McCoys situation going on. Reliving old country beefs that go back decades and centuries.
  24. He was the same way when those Russians were in the Oval Office that one time. He looked totally like the beta to their alpha. Like Steve and Edie to their Frank Sinatra.
