Line of storms coming thru could impact things.

I’m going by myself tonight. Nobody in my family wants to go, don’t blame them, so I exchanged my other ticket for Friday. (There’s a an orphan seat behind me in between two groups of ST holders). I’d like to see them with a winning record and I haven’t left the house, except for walks around the block since Sunday afternoon.

According to the replies on twitter, it was something the deceased soldier did a lot so it was a tribte to her. I wondered the same thing. Maybe she was a Dio fan.

Maybe instead of a starter having a throwing session in the bullpen in between starts (not a game, practice), they start a game intead and pitch an inning or two.

I also notice they're doing smaller events.... just standing in front of cops in a strip mall or whatever. I don't know whether what Hinch is doing is the result of injuries or part of a plan, or a combo of both, but it's working so far and it's innovative and the league should encourage that. Maybe they exploited an inefficiency. Or exploited an effiency, whatever. But baseball is like the Catholic Church or other large conglomerate that moves at the pace of a glacier. Don't rock the boat. Play the game "like it's supposed to be played!"

I don't like it for the same reason I don't like banning the shift. You are dictating play. I don't buy a pace of game argument because you've already introduced the pitch clock and other things to get the game moving along, it shouldn't be an issue anymore. A solution in search of a problem.

I think for many who are involved with fall sports school starts in August anyway.... with practices and all that. It leaves less time in the summer to plan vacations. And with younger kids parents are like "Ok, go back already... I love you but I'm also kind of sick of you...."

One of the few times you will see Dickerson get riled up is when he starts in on the lack of a league rule that getaway days are day games. Especially a monday night one at the end of a 4 game series.
