  1. I have tickets but not sure whether we go. Was a long night for my little fella. He says he wants to go but we will see. I’m fine either way. We are going tomorrow anyway. We might just go and walk around and sit wherever. I will be interested in how many actually show up. Tickets are all sold. The play might be uninspiring although the pitchers and a few position guys have something to play for. Postseason rosters. these kids are young though. Their bodies can handle partying all night and showing up for work in the morning.
  2. One side kills civilians as a matter of strategy and terror. The other side now responds to target the soldiers and fighters without regard to civilian loss because the civilians are either complicit or the soldiers/leaders purposefully hide among them thinking Israel won’t go after them. Israel sees the civilian casualties as the fault and victims of Hamas and Hezbollah.
  3. Reading comments from local Arabs and Muslims is interesting. Most are lamenting the killing of a “martyr” but then a Syrian jumps in and is like “WTF?”
  4. Talk radio is the daytime TV of sports. Idiots appealing to the lowest common denominator.
  5. Tomorrow’s game will be interesting. Hinch didn’t do “Sunday lineups”. These guys may just sleep in the clubhouse. 12 hours until BP!
  6. I love that it’s a bunch of kids. No bloated vets hanging around because of a contract. They’re too dumb to know they have to wait. Tonight was an amazing night at the park. The teams prior, even2006, had stress involved. This team just took it and didn’t care. They don’t know you have to wait. **** it. We take.
  7. My wife watched that Rom Com she made and afterwards said “I gotta admit…. Her boobs are pretty awesome “
  8. And the Tigers “collapse” earlier this year is just as crucial to those teams runs until recently. By saying what he says he’s implying it’s due to some strange event instead of just a team playing just over .500 over 162 games. Maybe MN and KC aren’t as good as their records indicated 10 days ago. Teams that win 83-88 games will have stretches like that. Some come in April and others come in September. This is Valenti just being a blowhard trying to sound smarter than others because a bunch of new baseball fans showed up.
  9. Would that make me gay? Not that there’s anything wro…..
  10. interesting. I've been disappointed with season 3. I lost the urgency to watch it and now we have 2 episodes left and will finish probably tomorrow night. It didn't draw me in this time. The episodes reminded of what TV shows were doing during COVID when restrictions on production meant they often had isolated storylines in order to reduce exposure. I want more action in the restaurant. In the one episode when they flashed back to earlier days and you saw them all yelling at each other, that was fun. It got to the point where I would welcome a commercial on Hulu so I could play on my phone.
  11. This kind of logic is ignorant. Yes, the Twins going 3-7 helped the Tigers. Yes the Royals losing 7 in a row recently helped the Tigers. But the Tigers have gone 9-1. And on the flip side, the Tigers going 3-7 helped the Twins and the Royals. The Tigers going 3-9 in early August helped the Twins and Royals. Why don't people discredit them for only getting a lead at another team's expense? Why is it the team charging at the end get dinged because someone else is losing? I know it's news to talk radio knobs that baseball goes for 162 games. Teams go to the playoffs because other teams lose. That's how sports works. It doesn't matter when they lose.
  12. Saturday's weather is looking kinda crummy so they better finish this off tonight.
  13. If Florida goes blue, in a close manner, and there's an opportunity to muck it up.... would DeSantis be like "screw you... I told y'all it was bad news to nominate this guy and look what happened..."
  14. And Trevor Plouffe.... his name became a verb, as in "We got plouffed"
  15. that's a damn shame
  16. This is the biggest game in Comerica Park since the 2013 ALCS. This is a team with zero ****s to give. They dont care if they lost yesterday or if they won yesterday or last week or who they are playing or what pitcher they are facing or when their last home run was or whether they were in Toledo this year I've spent a few thousand dollars a year on the Tigers. I've done that since I was 23 years old and in college. During the lean years when I had to make choices. Some years I questioned if I was being a fool. But I stuck with it not because I think I'm special but because I love being at the stadium during a random mid week summer night and unless I buy the tickets then something else will come up and I won't go. I go with family, friends, or by myself (Did that 3 times this year and it's a great experience). I thought of that this week when that part of the season is already over for me. It reminds me of being a kid. When I am at the games I have no problems to figure out. It's just joy. But now the stadium wil be packed. Tonight's game is another reminder of why I do it because I'll be with people I've sat near for 15 years at least. We've sat through cold April games and sweltering August games when the stadium was near empty. The last time we were there we saw Montero put down 27 batters and then the team nearly pitch a perfect game. Playoff talk was polite but under our breath was "Are you kidding.... come on?".
  17. I have a 5 am wake up call, followed by a 6:30 am 3 mile run... so I also went to bed when they loaded the bases, Twas a nice suprrise when I checked twitter and someone said "The magic # is 1". If I didn't need my energy for the run this morning and going to the game tonight I would have stayed up for sure.
  18. When I was in Florida this summer we went to a place that had the Miami game on and there he was.... it was kind of refreshing to hear his voice again. Like seeing a former co worker outside the office. Different perspective.
  19. I’m going to bed. and I don’t think this is in the bag by any means. I wouldn’t say I’m nervous but I’m anxious. MN isn’t rolling over. Tigers need to win.
  20. I think it’s bull**** what they are doing. It’s a sad day.
  21. Where’s all those people who only posted when the team didn’t do well?
  22. Standing room only tickets are all that’s left on the Tiger site for this weekend.
  23. He jumped on Stoney who asked him if they were surprised at Sweeney’s play. “We knew the player. We’re not idiots. We seek out good talent”.
  24. TIE GAME
