  1. I wonder if we were watching the same thing because yesterday or the day before I had it in my head to come here to peeve this very thing. Same with the word “button”. We had a lady in her mid 20s giving us instructions for something at work and she kept saying “buh-en”. “Click this buh-en”.
  2. I delivered a pizza to Vina at the Hyatt when he was with the Brewers. They wouldn’t let us up to the rooms so we had to call them to come down. He was with Bob Wickman. He was very short but stocky. Looked like a college wrestler. Wickman looked like a gas station attendant who sometimes would be allowed to work on the cars.
  3. My visual take on Tork from being at the games is he has no range. He makes picks that look good but that isn’t enough. He’s a liability on the field.
  4. I think it explains the Obama/Trump vote phenomenon. Their politics and policies were irrelevant. They were outsiders. Even as a sitting US Senator Obama wasn’t seen as part of the system.
  5. I also think a large part of it is they know all of this but are fine with it because it pisses the right people off.
  6. Leyland’s HOF plaque will have no logo. no surprise and the right move.
  7. It was. Values gave them the cover to ignore some pretty centrist policies of Clinton. They just couldn't stomach a baby boomer draft dodger becoming President. It was almost as bad as... a black guy named Hussein. The baby boomers were broadly defined by the Vietnam War and the first Boomer POTUS should have been a decorated veteran, not some hippie with an independent wife. Naturally Kerry didn't count in 2004.
  8. Trump likes to frame things in a binary fashion, "Them vs me". When he complained about Amazon he'd set it up as Bezos vs Trump. "He's charging me a lot of money to deliver his packages on Sunday" It is done that way to emulate a TV show's programming. Hero vs Villain. He does it with China. The only ones he won't do it with are Putin and the Saudis.
  9. another one for today: Municpal payment services that are still set in 2001 in terms of technology. Like... is it necessary to lock our account? If someone wants to come in here and pay my taxes and water bill... have at it. Nobody writes checks anymore. Nobody wants to drive up and use a kiosk in February. I'm trying to give you money. Why make it harder?
  10. Pizza makers that leave a lot of crust. I don't get it. Who wants to be left holding a hard piece of bread? I understand you want to leave some bit of a crust to hold on to. But some places go too far. What is your limit? For me it's under an inch. About as much as my fingertips can touch without getting stuff on them.
  11. Rocket later killed himself. Went out into a field and cut his own throat. Gruesome. Wonder what his deal was because I think he had the chops to succeed. That group had no chance. But I think the worst season was Lornes first one back… with Anthony Michael Hall and Downey Jr. there was also the last year in th mid 90s of that crew, before Ferrell and Co came in. I think 94-95.
  12. These are people who think Hamas are the good guys. It's not about Palestinian genocide to them. That's just the cover story.
  13. The mayor of my city, and a large majority of it, have said they are done with Biden and the democrats. Of course that won't stop him from staging photo ops with programs that come from funding from Biden and democrats. If these clowns want to play foreign policy then resign your municipal positions and go work in those areas.
  14. If it were the 70's... nobody would have noticed or cared.
  15. My intent was to create a scenario where people are there just to do the work and not caring who gets the credit or whatever... yeah I know it's a pipe dream as the whole point of a politician is to get credit for the work. Chris Mathews used to always tell the anecdote about him going to work for Tip O Neil and he suggested "Why not just index Social Security to inflation so that you don't have to go through the exercise of the fight every few years" "Then we can't take credit for giving the people the raises" I'm sure it's not true but it's true in the sense of their motivation.
  16. Yes. Ferndale.
  17. Something similar for me. I call it my coma playlist. If I am ever in a coma I want this played. I also call it my “I don’t do drugs but if you turn the lights off and have a good set of headphones this could simulate it” playlist.
  18. I think McCanns wife followed me at one point. She was probably trolling for fans. I’m nobody special. Or it wasnt her. As long as we steer clear of the father of Casper Wells it should be safe.
  19. I was just thinking along those lines. We have open meetings acts to protect the public. I think it's time to make them mandatory closed door. Don't broadcast them. Publish transcripts with speaker names redacted. I'm serious. You learn who people are when nobody's looking.
  20. ane once people reach their 80s they tend to do that... the internal filter stops working.
  21. Even if they are correct I don't trust their motives. They aren't doing it to protect people or children.
  22. Wonder if he asked him if he knew Karate
  23. I hate it when people make criticisms of him and Tork about not being worth a 1/1 draft status. These aren't Matt Bush/Verlander comparisons. Nott every 1/1 is ARod or Chipper. Lots of Brien Taylor, Phil Nevin, and Paul Wilsons. Your most likely reasonable best hope is a Darin Erstad or Pat Burrell. Franchise players identified at that point are few.
  24. That's why I quit playing fantasy type games. Another reason is I couldn't keep up. You get an email during working hours on a trade and then I have to check around to see if they know something I dont... then you get back to them and they already moved the player. It stopped being fun for me. I do miss it. I got a special kick out of Todd Helton making the HOF because he was someone I drafted in a keeper league before he got really good and he was a star for me for a few seasons.
  25. Endeavor is going on permanent display in the stacked position with the tank and SRB’s attached. They are stacking it first then building the new museum around it. Going to a few years. some friends are going to visit their son tomorrow at USC, which is across the street. Trying to find a way to sneak my way with them.
