  1. Secures a winning homestand against Cleveland and LA. And the two losses could have easily been wins. I admit to not watching after they got down 9-4. I was putzing around the house and took a quick nap. Then I got the alert on the Keith HR.
  2. Yeah that movie didn’t age well at all. That was Bill Paxton but I’m not sure yet if he was famous. Throw in the satirical take on the terrorists. But it was the 90’s.
  3. Check out this article from Detroit Free Press: Songs in the key of (Old English) 😧 Detroit Tigers debut Comerica Park organist vs. Astros https://www.freep.com/story/sports/mlb/tigers/2024/05/11/detroit-tigers-debut-comerica-park-organist-vs-houston-astros/73652257007/
  4. The Tigers do have an organ and organ player this year for some games. There was a story about it not long ago.
  5. She had some good scenes in True Lies too.
  6. I love the jerseys. Very disappointed.
  7. I’m guessing they didn’t or couldn’t make the stars jerseys reflect whatever the new standard is. I read that release as it’s a league rule, not their own.
  8. Will CNN go into hysterics about this? Will unichvoter and Nate silver tweet about it?
  9. Like Leyland said... "it's not who you play but when you play them"
  10. reminded of the old adage, "the most popular athlete in Detroit is the backup QB"
  11. aren't the candidates not official until the convention is over? Is anything signed that indicates either of these two are the nominees officially?
  12. I am warming to the idea, as long is it can play out legally, of an open convention like the old days. The American public has been sitting on this matchup for 2 years. It's already stale to them. Nobody watches conventions but they would watch one where a candidate is truly picked. Then if you get a Harris or whoever to come out of it that's younger then there is a freshness to the campaign that I think the public would want. Not to mention, as said in the Alberta piece already, the Trump campaign has been preparing for a Biden matchup. This throws that into chaos. Of course the public has to go along with this in terms of votes. And Biden does too.
  13. I like the term Professional Democrats.
  14. I think smoking has an effect too.
  15. This is her at the Oscars last year. I dont think she looks like an old hag at all. Her hair is white because that's what most often happens to women as they older and she quit dying it. Yeah she has wrinkles. That happens too to women, and men. Annette Bening is the same age and this is a recent photo. I just think there's a shock when we are used to seeing actresses as younger versions and then suddenly they hit that post 60 phase and things look different.
  16. They are under the impression that there will be a need for another political party after Trump wins. George Clooney will be fine regardless of who wins. Our sons and daughters will not. They will be fighting wars and having their rights taken away.
  17. This whole thing is a perfect example of what is wrong with democrats. They don’t play the same game as republicans and that’s why they lose as often as they do. Maybe in normal circumstances this skepticism is warranted. Like any election before 2016. If something doesn’t look right then take the high road. But republicans would never dream of that. If this were trump they would be rallying and lying while doing if because winning is the only result.
  18. Not everyone born in 1958 can look like Madonna.
  19. Nice send there Cora. Never thought I would see a worse 3B coach for that than Gene Lamont.
  20. I was thinking the same thing.
  21. Especially when they.... age... and don't go the surgery route.
  22. She has totally embraced the aging look and a lot of my wife's peers, those in the early 50's, have done the same. I think she posed nude, while covering up the essentials, in a recent magazine. ANd yes, she was great in The Bear. I didn't recognize her at first. That episode followed by Forks is among the greatest TV 90 minutes in history.
  23. Slightly related.... I heard Roger Daltrey on a podcast say that US Servicemen stationed in England, bringing over records like Elvis and Chuck Berry and those guys, along with the old timer Blues legends feeling safer in Europe than in the South in the US contributed to the heavy influence of music during that time period in that location. Throw in the radio consolidation has made things pretty stale commercially. Do people under 30 listen to the radio?
