Today is leap day. As a kid in Bible school I learned that the reason we have a leap year is because Joshua stopped the earth from moving for 24 hours during a battle. I believed that for a very long time.

We're going to miss Cocaine Mitch. Whoever it is will be far worse. It will be a big loss. Mitch is an asshole and I hate him for what he did regarding the SC picks, granted it showed he had balls of steel. He DGAF. But he also stood up for our Allies globally. This will be one more step towards maga and the makeup of the Senate is not shaping up to be a good thing for our country. If the GOP were in the minority I wouldn't care. But a Majority leader full on MAGA is not good.

If we do have a disputed election and Trump is the winner, then we'll have Harris presiding over it. I'm sure some democrats would object and then we'd have the "both sides" argument going on.

The genocide is actually the policy towards Israel, and it was laid out in this thread. The Arabs don't want them there so their goal is to remove them and wipe them out, by any means necessary. Israel's goal isn't to exterminate Gazans. Hamas's goal, and that of many of the Arabs in that region, is to exterminate Jews. They don't consider them legitimate people.

With binary choices you will be correct enough times to warrant them to keep going. You have a 50/50 chance of being "right" and with only 2 choices available then I don't put stock into the opinion because I had just as much of a chanc eof being right as well. A little of both I think. In some cases I don't blame people. It depends on your goals and who you work for. If it's a corporation that doesn't do much else for you and you are just there to make money so you can live... then I won't care if you do the bare minimum. You don't owe them anything extra. It's not a charity. Don't be a sucker. I"m thinking about service type jobs where you as a worker have choices and options. She's in health care so they have that. In my opinoin in an industry like that the mroal duty to serve is on the entity, not the individual. If the entity wants to be a bunch of bean counters with no soul then it's not fair to expect the employees to pick up the slack because of their own work ethic and sacrifice rather than hire more staff.

If the place has a stage or permanent space for a band then I get it... you have to know going in that is a possibility.
