I don't have a problem with it. Don't add fuel to the "it was rigged" fire. Don't give any election deniers any weapons to try to claim the election was fixed.... these crazy judges won't need much to justify crappy decisions.

Its like the antique (or any kind of speciality) shop that closes after the owners want to retire. It was always there but I can't tell you the last time I listened to one of our equivalent stations (950 AM?). The only time I listen to the radio now is to catch a Tigers score if I am in the car. If it's not the Tigers or Red Wings I have to scramble to find out which staton it's on. I've turned in car leases after 3 years that had no radio presets.

Me too.... (you see what I did there?) But maybe they want to contrast having former POTUS and candidates on board. On the GOP side they are in hiding from today's GOP.

It was a unique situation for us. Our regular family vacation followed up by a cousins trip. A rare occurrance for us. We ain't flashy.

Just a general observation as I have been out of the loop due to back to back vacations and being busy in betwee.... for all this injuries to this team... they are still in every game it seems. I'm not saying they are good but with this roster they should be getting smoked more often.

We were in Florida twice within the last month and could not figure out the weed situation there. We saw the places. I assume a card was required. But then we saw a place that said "No card required". We weren't looking to partake, just curious on the rules because I remembered hearing it was on the ballot this November.

I’m not sure that’s fair to The Henry Ford. The owner of the house, the daughter of the Jacksons, contacted them about relocating it there. The Henry Ford didn’t go in and scoop it up like hawks. The museum and village has many artifacts and exhibits related to civil rights and Justice. I think it will be in good hands and will reach over a million people a year, with many of those visitors coming from out of the country and this history will be somewhat new to them.

Bush and Cheney did not end on the best of terms either over the Scooter Libby affair. Cheney wanted a pardon, not a commutation or whatever it was. Bush said "No, he lied.... I am not pardoning someone who did something wrong".

Another thing about the decency of HW Bush. After Nixon's inauguration LBJ came home to Texas to some fanfare but for a departing president it's anti climactic for sure, especially one who didn't run because he couldn't win, which is the same as losing in practical terms. Who was there to greet him? A young congressman from the other party. That's class.

as do I. HW BUsh was my favorite president. They came from a family that pushed service. They knew they were fortunate in life and their belief system was that they needed to serve others because of that. Bush 41 could have come home after WWII and gotten a cushy job on wall street and led a comfortable life in the north east with no guilt or regrets, after all he was shot down in the war and almost beheaded. But he moved west and lived in self induced poverty for awhile and built up his own company.

It would take something extreme, like a Dem version of a Trump, to get me to go back. I have changed my beliefs in a lot of ways because I realized a lot of the talking points were horse ****. I'm pro choice all the way. I think the rich can pay more taxes and be ok with it. I used to believe in "trickle down" but you have to take care of people at a minimum level. I'm for gun control. I'm also for a strong military and I don't get into the arguments like we should cut defense to spend on something else. We can spend on both. We should help take care of the world. Basically I think it all came down to spending a lot of time on the right wing sites at the time and being in a bubble. National Review, Instapundit, WSJ, etc. I read that stuff all day long.

I was trying to remember the last Republican I voted for... Maybe Rick Snyder in 2014. I don't remember what I did in the GOP primary or whatever Michigan did in 2016.

He looked like a guy off the street would... or to be blunt, a minor leaguer. If you go to enough ML games and then go to a AA game, you notice that stuff. We are used to the crispness and speed. I always wondered what would happen if you took a random Division 1 Outfielder and threw them in an ML outfield. I mean... it's just a fly ball right? All I can share from my experience is getting to be on Comerica Park's field for batting practice (our batting practice, not the Tigers, I got to attend a sponsor event and take some swings and play catch and whatever in the OF) and when you are out there shagging balls... it's a big field. I thought, "Ok, I'm going to pretend to be a player". I played HS baseball, was pretty good if I must say, I played in an adult hardball league after, I played softball after that... but it was different out there. And I can only imagine how different with ML pitchers and hitters doing their thing.

ah, another old girlfriend we go up against. Robbie Ray is like Kim Basinger.... came in hot, had some ups and downs, restarted again and won an Oscar. There's drama there but damn it would have been fun to be on that ride with her.

Not defending him but Al Kaline of all people used to say that line drives/hard hit balls hit right at an OF are the hardest plays. You are like an infielder at that point with little time to react. Do you go in, out, left ,right, dive, smother? In his case he made the right call at that point in the game but was just not athletic or skillful enough to make the play.

I don’t see that happening at all. I’m more worried about shenanigans at the more local levels. Some Fox News absorbing wacko not certifying the election because they “heard something”. But I also think that risk is low. Harris is going to wipe her ass with Trump and he will finally get his punishment. Losing to not only a woman, but a black woman, will be something he thinks about on his death bed.
-
Good. I hope they send him out. Then he will get blamed for losing the election and will be another Trump casualty that sold his soul and ended up in a ditch.
-
Maybe they are thinking they can dump Trump now and when they can’t, that will be “the cheating”.

Someone I worked with wasn't a baseball fan. When Moneyball came out he came up to me to tell me he saw it and liked it. He too didn't know there were two Billy Bean(e)s. But he had heard of Bean from a thing on the news once. So he assumed Moneyball was about him. When I told him the truth he looked puzzled... because if you have seen Moneyball and think of it that way it could make sense. His sense of isolation and being different from the others as a gay man transcended into the front office and the methods to run a team... the story about his ex wife and their daughter and they still had a cordial relationship, like that was the reason they split up and she supported him.

Only posting because despite all of his recent flaws, Nate still has good taste in hats.

Yet I have "Impartial" vets on my feed barking up because Walz retired two months before deployment orders.

I think they are just not very smart or good at this. What worked the previous 2 times isn't working anymore. 2016 was 8 years ago. People are bored with that now. I've said this before but Harris is a great position that's unique. Both an incumbent and a fresh face. The nation was prepped for a boring rematch of two old white guys that showed and spoke their age and regression. Now you have a something else. It's a breath of fresh air to most of the country. That has left Trump's people scrambling as they have to change everything. They are stuck with Vance.

I thought of that last night when watching.... of course that one was a game winning HR. Grady Sizemore was on his way.
