  1. Are there a lot of rainouts in the florida league during the summer. We vacationed there 3 times the last few years and every year we get rained out on plans. I guess double headers are a way of life. A few weeks ago we went to see the Tampa Tarpons, or tried to. $2 tickets so no big loss and we at least got to see the stadium. If I ever do move from the Detroit area I would probably get season tickets to the closest minor league team because watching a game is a great way to spend a summer evening and getting season tickets makes you feel a part of something.
  2. Yet the same people going on and on about Walz deserting his unit by retiring, after 24 years, two months before they got orders to deploy will just gloss over this and pretend it never happened.
  3. Meanwhile in JV Vance world…
  4. get off the couch?
  5. And Harris got to lay low for 5 years, didn't have a primary, and can control how she's perceived. When all the GOP has is coming up with nicknames and screwing up her name and talking about post menopausal women... well, why should she change course? Normal is in.
  6. 5 of 6 against Seatle is pretty good.
  7. I think those work in the context of this election because it's not just traditional name calling. The voting pubilc DO see the GOP ticket as weird and it's obvious Trump is not normal. Reinforcing what everybody deep down really knows to be true. In most elections both candidates are generally normal.
  8. I think they're just lazy and stupid and their voters are robots.
  9. I'm guessing she was apolitical overall but generally leaned liberal. She was a NYC socialite. I'm sure pretty liberal on social issues, if you asked, but she comes from money and married into money so they leaned right when it came to that. Politics was something that she didn't have to think about much because you live a certain life, go to certain schools, etc. where everybody is the same and you have what you need.
  10. and the article itself doesn't say what the problem is other than "some say there's an economic problem". But I can't tell what exactly that should be. I've been told for 2 years now we're in recession or soon will be. Going back to my comment in the Investing thread... nobody knows nothing. Everything can be spun into whatever they want it to say.
  11. he offered to be a "mentor". Why does he assume she needs a mentor. Does he assume she's a crack baby child with no father or other role models in her life? That's what Dubya called "the soft bigotry of low expectations".
  12. I wouldn’t be surprised if that judge and court gets some heat over this. I saw the story when it aired and was half paying attention. I thought she was a defendant. The handcuffs thing is problematic for me. That’s physical restraint. The judge doesn’t know this girls situation. Maybe she is on meds. She didn’t commit any crime.
  13. They are getting roasted on this story.
  14. Nobody knows anything. It's just a circle jerk echo chamber of talk. They can twist anything into good or bad and the "talk" is just like Twitter's "Trending" feature where it's just people talking about the talking but nowhere is the actual words.
  15. Is there a threshold where if Harris does too well then that is just OBVIOUS that the election was rigged and the votes are "AI".
  16. My brief summary of this is simply that there were a lot of previous Biden voters who were not going to vote this year if it were Biden/Trump. There are also previous Trump voters who are not going to vote this year, and still won't. But not as many as the first group. With Harris on the ticket, a lot of those in the first group are now going to vote and she's not lost a statistically significant number of previous Biden voters. This runs counter to my conventional wisdom but the polls and enthusiasm we see show I was wrong. She elevated her base and did nothing to Trump's base. The D's had room to grow, the R's are maxed out. I saw a tweet earlier today that replayed a Nikki Haley quote from February. She said the first ticket to drop their 80 year old candidate would win. The next President will be a female, either her or Harris. She was right.
  17. That's confidential but here is Kerry walking away from me so draw your own conclusions.
  18. You aren’t alone in that observation. One reason, my opinion alone, is he wants to do what he can to raise awareness for Parkinson’s and this job helps him do that, along with doing Bernstein commercials.
  19. So you are saying.... their motives aren't pure?
  20. Hamassholes are at it again. They should all be clubbed like Rodney King was.
  21. I think it's the former and they believe it's the former, which is why they aren't doing it. They aren't doing it to protect democracy or prevent problems during election certification. If they had those principles they would be focusing more on Trump's dementia, etc. They don't think they are valid leaks but propoganda.
  22. This evening I get to view BP from the field. Got to do it last year and got Miggy's autograph. This year can't top that but it's still fun to be down there listening to them all talk and such. They show the launch angle and exit velocity and it's easy to figure out what you need to do for a HR.
