  1. It's the worst one I have ever seen.
  2. that's interesting. I like knowing things like that.
  3. I think the Katie Britt talk needs to transition here.
  4. I just watched a few minutes and wow... I wasn't prepared either. It was like Kristin Wiig on SNL. A hostage video.
  5. Make sure you get a release of lien from the financial institution and keep that with the title. I made the mistake of not doing that back in 2015, I thought the title was good enough, and earlier this year I had to call the bank and wait for the letter to arrive (The electronic version wasn't good enough for the transaction in question). It slowed things down and was annoying.
  6. Thats not in the Bible.
  7. Beautiful. The arrogance of these folks makes it so satisfying
  8. well we know why she got the job
  9. What about others that make plays that a SS with a high FP% doesn't even get to? That is left out of FP% You can't make an error if you don't touch the ball. A SS or 2B with no range means they are fielding balls hit generally right at them. Those are hard to screw up. So they have a high FP%. A SS or 2B with better range still makes those same plays the first guy makes, but also gets to balls outside of the other guy's range. Of those extra chances, he will commit some errors. So his FP% is lower. But he's also converting more outs. The errors made are irrelevant in comparison because in both situations the player is on base. Would you trade less errors for less outs?
  10. Yes. She's running for Senate in the largest state in the country. Who did she think was going to be paying for things? THis is the game she chose to play in. Don't whine because their billionaires spent more than your billionaires. Reminds me of the Right Stuff... "Our Germans are better than their Germans"
  11. Calling it now... Rogan vs Swift 2028.
  12. At a very high level.... I see mixing of philosphies as something akin to card counting in blackjack. The "system" works over the long haul and with consistent implementation of the strategy. Success is measured at the macro level, or over thousands of results. It's not going to help on one individual result. The system isn't broken because one player didn't pan out or even because you lost a 5 game playoff series....just like the card counting failed because you busted on hand that you were "supposed" to win. You measure an org's philosphy over a 5-7 year stretch, accepting that in some years you might have a bust.
  13. Trump’s whole schtick is salesmanship. The silly tweets. The nicknames. He knew how to reach into what a segment of aggrieved people were feeling. He could speak the language they wanted to hear. Nobody else can do that. The folks in rural areas with the trump hats and buttons and car flags are doing it for Donald. Nobody else. the one person I think could pick up this idea and run with it is JD Vance.
  14. They won’t have the same charisma. I think Ivanka is happy where she is with Jared and his Saudi money. The two sons are morons. No charm. Trump will fade fast if he loses. He is 8 years past his peak and the GOP is having to defend banning IVF and forcing middle school girls carrying babies conceived by rape to term.
  15. He has no reason to accept that, as chasfh pointed out. His contract is guaranteed. He's getting $98 million the next 4 years and nobody in MLB can change that. There could be a present value/future value thing negotiated but that would involve a pay it all right now thing and I can't see the team doing that. They can cut him but they still owe him the money.
  16. I went back to my sent items folder for that week. Looks like we went home on the 13th. I have an email to my boss on the 16th, a Monday, asking if we could get into the building b/c I wanted my docking station and I was able to "snag" a couple of monitors. Officially people were allowed 1, but you know...... I remember a few weeks later we were told to go get the office chairs if we wanted them and all of the desks had markings on them to indicate they were "deep cleaned", as if we would be back in a few weeks. Then in July we were told to clear out all of our personal belongings we had left. Now the building is being demolished.
  17. I think there's room post Trump for the likes of Cheney/Kinzinger/Flake/Haley in the GOP. Trump has a hold on the party, as long as he is the top dog. If he loses in 2024 then that's it. He's done. He has the trials to contend it and the GOP can finally move on. The lackeys like Cruz and Graham know it's a fraud. Trump losing will ease the pressure. That's why Haley is smart to take the high road and be the option post Trump. A 2028 without Trump or Biden is a lot different than what we have today. I dont think Haley needs Donald Trump at all. She would beat Biden in my opinion head to head.
  18. I don't know... I think those people being referred to are already in the bag and being counted.
  19. If I were advising her I would tell her to be patient and wait out the 4 years. If Trump wins, she's toast (Aren't we all?) If Biden wins then she's still there as an option in 2028. I don't htink someone who's pulling 30-45% of the primary vote against a former POTUS needs to grovel or "go away". Trump is such a unique thing that you can't use old rules to determine what to do. All these politicians endorsing Trump are doing it out of self preservation and a wink and nod to each other as to the reason why.
  20. General thought: As a kid I stayed home from school one day and my dad and I watched Paris, Texas. A Sam Shepard written film directed by a German that as very American. Harry Dean Stanton as a drifter who comes back and finds his son and ex wife. This movie captivated me then and in the few times I've seen it since, including bits of it a few years ago when I saw it on HBO Max. I saw a reference to it as I guess Beyonce's new country video paid tribute to it. So I watched again. Still holds up. It's pace is slow but the music makes up for it. There's a great sequence between Stanton and Natassja Kinski. The camera hold still on her face for like 5 minutes as the gravity of what she's hearing becomes evident and tears start to come out. They are talking through a one way mirror and Stanton turns around so the camera can stay still on both of them while talking, then that's repeated later on where Kinnski does the same. This negates the use of camera cuts and the viewer is made to feel like they are in the room with them. I love movies that ask the viewer to engage and make an effort and be patient. This does that. Stanton doesn't speak for like 20 minutes at least. Just a great great movie and if you have Max I encoruage you to give it a try. Harry Dean Stanton said it's his favorite movie of his.
  21. Elon will pay off his fines.
  22. Craig mentioned at the outing I went to a few weeks ago that he lives here now, made it sound like he just moved... so he has some skin in the game. I think the others like Petry or Gibby can take it or leave it. Not sure if Monroe has other business to require him to live here. Until they announced the new lineup I didn't realize or pay attention to how many "reporters" they had. Maybe it's to help off set the Wings/Pistons coverage during that time along with summer vacations and all that.
  23. yeah that seemed obvious to me. It was a dig at Trump's lawyers, and possibly some on the SC who might be too clever and book smart to understand the practical ramifications of what they are willing to grant a POTUS over idealogical purity (Not unlike IVF and Dobbs)
  24. I think given the fact Jason works for the Tigers gives him a lot of swagger and "hand" as they said on Seinfeld. Keating is not long for that job in my opinion. He's been around forever. I don't think we have any kind of Harwell/Rizzs/Rathbun situation where the new guy is facing struggles with those already there. Those other people are expendable.
