  1. if someone close to the campaign says it, then I think tampons wil become a useful prop. So far it just seems like a twitter thing. As usual on that site whenever I see something is trending, I click on it, and its just a bunch of tweets talking about the fact its trending but I don't see the sources. So I guess I can't get on them... yet. But it certainly sounds like something that side says.
  2. When I watched the video I posted earlier where he signed the law and was with the girls, I had the suspicion that he had daughters. Why? Because of how he interacted with them. I read a thing a few years ago about how we as adults, especially men, need to be careful about things like hugging and picking up girls, even family members. Don't just assume they want to. We need to teach them that physical touch of any kind is not expected behavior from them and they can say no, even if it's an innocent hug from a man you know. If they reach out to hug you, then go ahead. I remember relatives who would practically beg for hugs or someone to 'sit on their lap'. Most of the time it was innocent but it can send a subliminal message to them for later that they don't have total agency on physical touch.
  3. Yeah, he looks like 60 year olds looked when I was a kid. Now that I'm 50, 60 looks like Brad Pitt.
  4. so back on the subject... This will do a lot to get rid of the 'weird' talk, won't it?
  5. You don't make VP campagin videos... but this could be an exception. That is not a transactional law. His joy is because all kids can eat. Like.... who can be against that? (We know who)
  6. Like a lot of communities around here, our garbage contract was under GFL, who got bought out by Priority Waste. It's been kind of a **** show. But that's not my problem. My problem is the compaints. Get over it. I don't care if my can sits out there another day. These workers are doing their best. It's been hot as balls and it's not a glamorous job. I'm sure it's hard to find employees. I just wish that worrying about the garbage pickup was the biggest concern of my day. Life must be great if that's on your mind.
  7. I've seen this contrasted with Gov Suckabee Handers who had kids around her when she signed a law allowing them to work longer.... they looked like they were sold into slavery.
  8. I lean towards Walz too
  9. No it’s not true.
  10. The thing with POC was all the evangelicals going to see it in groups and repeated viewings. And that’s kind of strange because Mel is a unique kind of Catholic and this story isn’t one I recall being celebrated in the evangelical community.
  11. I’m sharing this with y’all right now. I’m in Jeckyll island Georgia for a cousins trip. Recently one of my wife’s cousins was diagnosed with ALS. That prompted them all to plan a trip here for her. There’s 22 of us here. She’s progressed to the point where she’s wheelchair bound. Today we convinced her to let us get her into the pool at the resort. I was one that happened to be thwarted to hang on to her as she got in and to carry her around. She started giggling. I asked if she was ok and she said yes, she’s loving it. I will never ever forget that for the rest of my life and feel honored to be fortunate enough to have been able to give her that joy. Live your live and cherish it every moment.
  12. Rich Eisen has a pretty damn awesome show. I come across so many clips of his that are worth watching. I love long interviews with people.
  13. wow, my feed was full of this from the usual supsects and I'm shocked, shocked I tell ya, that they were once again all full of ****.
  14. This neighbor and I, when we get a snowstorm big enough to warrant it, will alternate who does the block. Once we have me off when he saw me getting ready in my garage. Told me to go back inside and have a beer.
  15. What I don't understand about the "Kamala isn't black" line is... who do they think this is going to affect in terms of voting? Are black people going to say "Welp, she ain't one of us"? I don't think so. They didn't say it about Obama. Are white people going to say "Well, voting for her isn't as noble as I thought, I will only be half woke"? I don't think so. Will racists be more likely to vote against her because a "halife" is worse? Maybe that's it.
  16. A guy by me lives on the corner and has a flag draped on his garage, so that everybody cutting down jackson to avoid the light at the 3 way intersection sees it, along with a yard sign. But he's a pretty good guy overall.
  17. I just saw a good Harris commercial. She used powerful imagery of her as VP. Behind a podium with the seal. Talking to people. Showed a sluggish Trump looking disheveled and old and tired. It hit me what a unique position she is in. Maybe unprecedented, definitely so in modern times. She gets to run an incumbent campaign as VP without baggage. Traditionally if a VP gets a nomination it’s after a bit of a primary fight. Then you have to deal with fatigue, even in the best of situations. Nixon had no help from Ike, in fact Ike hurt him with his “give me some time and I will think of something” like when asked what Nixon contributed. Humphrey had to distance himself. Bush was in the best shape but had a bitter primary. Gore was boring and had Clinton’s scandal to deal with. Harris doesn’t have any of that. This worked out perfectly for her. She can look like a president while campaigning because outside of a few cosmetic differences it’s the same. The big plane. The massive secret service detail. The seal. And we aren’t asking her to continue on with years 9-12 of an existing admin. She is a refresh after 4 years of something that’s been prettt popular. We had a 2007 Ford Focus get us to our vacation spot and now we can exchange that for a 2025 Mustang to get us home.
  18. That came up aft from he made his appearance at ComiCon last week for the new captain America movie.
  19. That's the video. Why does he say "buh-lack"? This guy's racist to the core. It cannot be defended.
