Anyway, James said he was trying to find something in the numbers to figure out why. He was age 26. His prime. He had been great in the years before and after. Won MVP the year before and after. It was his second year back after WWII service. When James met him he asked about that season and Stan said they had just had a kid and he wasn't a good sleeper and kept him up at night. He still had a good year just not a Stan Musial year.
