  1. I don't know whether this is true for the others but for French Connection they didn't get a permit. They didn't block streets. So many of the reactions are legit.
  2. I always take a day off in may and early October to just putz around yard. Move stuff around. Nothing that productive really. Just an excuse to be outside, cheaper than golf, and it makes me feel accomplished. Now I understand what my dad was doing.
  3. I have an old external Western Digital HD that crapped out. My son left it plugged in over the break and I think it burned up. I took it out and got a SATA cable and tried that, didn't work. Ordered another one from Amazon, the kind that looks more like a cartridge, still nothing. No spinning or anything like i hear on another HDD from my laptop that quit working years ago. I ordered that second SATA from Amazon a few weeks ago knowing it probably wouldn't work but they make returns so dang easy I had to do it. TOok it back to staples, she just tossed it in this giant box behind her with other crap. I don't know where that stuff goes, maybe Marhsall's or Big Lots? The drive thing is a pet peeeve for sure. Nothing on there I really need but I know there's some old VHS transfers that I forgot to copy over to my "real" backup drive. I thought I did. So who knows what else is on there I forgot. I can't assume the mantra I tell my wife "If you aren't looking for it then you dont need it". I haven't looked in it in years. My son is autistic like and insists on having it plugged in to look at photos, that are already on the hard drive of his laptop, but what are you gonna do... and yeah, that laptop has had it's hard drive replaced as even he gets frustrated with wait time! Hence the "Don't hit Computer" label on it.
  4. I found a setting in my MLB app that has 30 second delay for scoring change or end of game alerts. Last year I'd my watch buzzes with 2 strikes and 2 outs in the ninth.
  5. Shawn Fain was slobbing all over Trump's nob yesterday
  6. I will miss that while seeing the Wings go up 1-0 early then lose 4-1. Pretty sure twice in the last week I get the alert the other team scored, and when I almost immediately switch over, they've scored another!
  7. But that's just a cover. He needs a W-2 for the Feds.
  8. Fox2 just did a story on it and you could see the seats are in now. Doesn't look too different in my opinion. Just bigger seats.
  9. I’m bummed a little but I also don’t mind missing a 2-0 loss where Skubal gives up 0 runs over 6.
  10. For temps you just “double it and add 30” to convert.
  11. Of course I got Red Wing Tickets tonight 🙂 I think we're allowed to change the channel in the suites.
  12. which the Tigers had nothing to do with. "The Tigers were the last team to do it..." Ony 2 teams did since the advent of color TV. It's not a big deal.
  13. Do I have to guess who the 2 are?
  14. When I did a tour of the Tigers clubhouse, maybe it was during a Tigerfest, on the bulletin board was a flyer for a prayer group or sunday chapel, along those lines, and it had Frank's name and his phone number. For hundreds of people to see that day. Andy Dirks hit on a friend of mine, back in his playing days, outside of a bar in Royal Oak. I know he's pretty religious now so I assume he wouldn't do such a thing now.
  15. on the fringes of the conservative movement are people who think euthanasia will be an acceptable outcome for those who take too much from socieyt.
  16. Like during confirmation hearings they will say some good things but eventually cave.
  17. it wouldn't surprise me if he didn't know about it. He only ran again to stay out of jail. I truly wonder if they never charged him in the election and document cases if he'd have run.
  18. Tony Paul's article said the team wanted a more uniform playing conditions, based on feedback from players and coaches. If that's true then fine. Why have something different than everybody else? If we are being honest it was kind of gimmicky. They put it in Tiger Stadium during the final few weeks and carried it over to Comerica. It's not like it's this grand tradition. This isn't the Green Monster.
  19. yes but it's paywalled
  20. It would expose their previous tributes as nothing more than marketing. I have some problems with what they've been doing regading Jackie Robinson. They haven't done enough to own up to the reason the entire country knows who he is in the first place. By presenting it as HIS accomplishment they are able to frame it in a way that doesn't tell the real story. This wasn't a guy who was just so damn good he worked his way into the leagues and finally a black player could play. MLB kept him and them out. They were all just as good. It was blatant racism. "Jackie broke barriers". No, Jackie had a door opened up for him that a bunch of assholes kept closed. His greatness beyond his play is in how he dealt with the continued racism and blowback. I've always felt MLB took themselves off the hook in how this was presented. and if MLB truly felt sorry about it and had sincere intentions they'd not be reconsidering this, if they are doing that.
  21. I was thinking of that too.... would I have noticed? Yet once I am aware it stands out. I don't want to reflexively bash Chris Ilitch over this. There's plenty of other reasons to as to how this franchise is presented to the fans. Maybe Heather Nabozney told him he wasn't worth the hassle? Maybe the league wanted uniformity? Maybe the players didn't like it? I'm open to a benefit of the doubt here....
  22. Wait, was Massie going along with it?
