the need to produce content and to just "say something" leads to having to make assumptions and to over analyze every decision. At the end of the day, it's going to work or not work. That's it. You have a 50% chance of being right. Guessing on a deal "working out" is like guessing whether a baby is going to be a boy or a girl. Some will come up with crazy theories and that 50% chance of being right gives them fake credibility on that theory.

that doesn't mean he is scared or timid. If a blackjack player is following a system and the system says "Don't hit on this", it doesn't mean he's risk averse.

what do the numbers mean for context? Dark blue looks like it's in the middle of the chart of colors so is that "average"? I'm confused by dark blue being in the middle of a chart with lighter blue going on way, followed by dark red, then lighter red. The intensity of the color should match the extreme, no?

Maybe it's different motives but I don't care. I hope this is true. I hope everybody involved in that is held to account. I don't care if it's Trump, Biden, Clinton, Tom Hanks, Ernie Harwell, or Billy Graham, or Mister Rogers.... anybody who is known to have been in that world exploiting children deserve what's coming to them.

what I reject is the baseless charges that he's 'scared' or whatever. it's a fallacy that's been allowed to grow. As someone I follow said.... "Nobody's writing Moneyball 2 about an old guy who has lunch with Lynn Henning twice a year".

I hate to say it because I know many here read them and post about them but the folks from places like Bulwark aren't really accomplishing anything. I'm not suggesting they have a job to do to elect democrats but their readers and viewers have to realize that just talking about things in a way that's framed from a pre trump world will not reach the required people to the degree to win elections. I'm talking about sunday talk shows, nightly talk shows, etc. We can preach all we want about how horrible he is and his admin is but you need a D congress to begin to attack it. As long as they rubber stamp his ideas then they will become laws. The game plan different now. The scoring system is different. It's cricket vs baseball.

groupthink is the right word. A narrative is born and they read it every day and it becomes fact to them. Like conspiracy theories, like religion.... When the professional media do it I always wonder if it's because he and his team don't talk like the old guys do.

In the mid to late 90's there was a vendor at Ned Skelton stadium in Toledo for the Mud Hens. It took is a minute to figure it out but then once we became aware it made sense. He would say things like "Who wants my meat!" Once he said "For the love of god will someone buy this last hot dog, the Red Wings are on tonight and I want to watch them".

thinking of that trip made me sad though because we realized there is a gap between using digital cameras, our phones, and then iphones. I am not sure what happened to our android based photos between around 2012-2015. ONce we both got iphones we have it all. I think one of us assumed a backup was taking place or did take place and.... who knows.

ha ha. THat's where we stayed 10 years ago. Our last vacation where all of us stayed in one room. I remember parking was crazy. If the lot was full we had access to one like 2 blocks inland but I never felt right leaving it there. The drive in was.... horrible.

I hate lefties who nibble to right handers. It looks xtra bad when they can’t throw strikes. Like they never played baseball before.

Dirks said they screwed up bringing it out. Like they were rushing and missed a step.

MGM always has good movies on. I don’t have it though.

I have an atomic clock that shows me the moon phases. It is amazing what our forefathers learned. The dude that used a shadow from a stick to measure the circumference of the earth. It’s about figuring out how to do it with what you have. It’s why I consider the moon landings our greatest tech achievement. Not that we necessarily did it. But it’s the when we did it and with what we did it with. In 1963 they weren’t even sure someone could eat or drink in space. I was amazed when reading the astronauts accounts in learning orbital mechanics and doing a rendezvous. It is backwards in terms of intuition but makes sense now. Yet all these engineers and pilots with advanced degrees didn’T know until they got up there. In an orbit you “slow down” by accelerating. That gets you in a higher orbit and this takes you longer to “move” to another object. To speed up you decelerate to drop to a lower orbit and you get there faster. But you don’t just point and hit the gas. They calculated these things with punch card systems on a system with less computing power than your toothbrush.

That’s what got Jared Weaver all riled up

Yea it was great. I actually watched it in reverse. We were staying at a hotel after a wedding and part 2 was on so we had it on. I love hearing about the creative process.

I don’t care about any of that. I just think it’s a cool picture. It’s all relative isn’t it ? We’re not curing cancer or sending men to Jupiter.

According to Reddit it’s from Amman Jordan and according to another source that’s about as far north from the equator as San Diego.

Daniella on camera doesn’t hurt. And frankly it’s a generational thing. If you have had kids or seen kids in the last 10 years attending proms then you know her outfits are not unusual. “How do they sit down?” Is a common question. Most wear spandex style shorts underneath. I think.

Yes. You ride Skubal and then wish him well and thank the team that’s going to pay him for what he did for you. Imagine the vitriol if the Tigers had traded Scherzer in 2014 then got swept by the Orioles.
-
But you are only looking at it from one teams perspective. If a team gives up a good #2 under control for more years and an everyday bat for Skubal then how much better have they made their team? Especially when they probably only have him for 1 year. Further to that… how many teams are in that position right now to of that?

In what previous scenario would Tork’s HR not count? I legit don’t know. I never bothered to learn that stuff

Why is that? The game was tied after 8 so wouldn’t they just resume it tomorrow ?
