  1. Has there been an analysis done on the 2024 election to see who voted, who didnt, who switched, etc.? That's where we will find our answers. Did people switch from Biden to Trump? Did people vote for Biden in '20 then not vote? Did people who didn't vote in '20 come out for Trump? That kind of thing.
  2. And was there grief between the Catholic and Greek Orthodox? I believe about 20 year ago they removed their "excommunications" from each other. It was one of hte Orthodox sects.
  3. Taken from the Meteosat-12 satellite the momente of the vernal equinox. That's when the sun is directly over the equator, entering the northern hemisphere and the line runs through the North and South poles, shown here.
  4. I want to know. Seems like a double whammy. You lose 2 home games and they get priority on merchandising.
  5. Among space fans there's a lot of arguing about the whole "stranded" and "rescue" operation regarding Butch and Suni yesterday. For those who don't pay attention to those things, they were not stranded and not rescued. They flew a Boeing Starliner in a Crewed Test Flight, one of the final, if not final, steps to certify Boeing in the Commercial Crew Program. They didn't like something on the service module so rather than take an unnecessary risk, they kept them on the ISS and they became part of Crew 9 which was coming up to the ISS a few months later, minus 2 astronauts. THis was all done in the summer of 2024. Now we have Musk and Trump trying to take credit for things already decided and Musk saying things like "We offered Biden a chance to go get them but he turned it down". That would have been a dumb decision, wasteful, and not really practical as it's not like driving a car.
  6. Not sure where we left this but as expected the "JFK Files" dump was a turd.
  7. Because of the ages of my kids I went through a period where I missed out on some great shows. Just didn't have time. From around 2006-2013. Always had stuff going on in the evenings and by the time we finished it all, it was 9 pm and we were tired. When Better Call Saul was announced we decided to binge BB to be on target. Mad Men and The Wire are two shows I really want to get into but there's too much stuff now to stay on top of. We started The Leftovers and also want to go back to that and finish off, especially after watching Severance and White Lotus. And White Lotus... damn. Started slow but this last week was legendary. I like that show because it's easy to watch. I love severance but it works the mind. That's good. But I like the Sunday night vibe of White Lotus, you can chill and enjoy the troubles of the uber rich without having to concentrate and pay attention to every detail. There's a place for style.
  8. I'm still getting emails from the Tigers about their new Home Plate Club. That tells me.... they ain't selling that well. I'm a nobody. A partial ticket holder not affiliated with a company or anything like that.
  9. https://www.crainsdetroit.com/hospitality-tourism/dearborn-inn-reopens-after-extensive-renovations?share-code=17423861381165070-195ae8c164a&utm_id=gfta-ur-250319&fbclid=IwY2xjawJHmZJleHRuA2FlbQIxMQABHYY1ffCUeUIDj5BSmdyGAYqqLxQcN28BGwGUvlyB92tpuQNB7A358f5ecA_aem_LLmCbyDDnLk6dUzMkL0S7A This is a gift article. The Dearborn Inn will be reopening after 2 years of renovations. That Vagabond cocktail bar looks amazing.
  10. I thjnk Emmy voters suffer from a serious case of groupthink. Zero creativity. The flip side to BCS’s goose egg is when others get the awards repeatedly.
  11. yesterday was St Patrick’s Day and I’m stunned I never saw this footage. Durum this scene in the Fugitive they used the real parade. In one shot you can see the reactions of the people. That was not scripted. I also think when Harrison Ford grabs a hat that wasn’t either.
  12. Yes. It was very good. in fact it's probably worth reading again.
  13. I always viewed the Olympia thing as related to Little Ceasar's for some reason. But Olympia arena makes sense.
  14. Following up… if he cares so much about Gibby why would he air his dirty laundry and jeopardize what he’s trying to do with his foundation? Are we to believe Gibby or someone close to him griped and Shep found out? Crappy friends if true. Everyone knows how vindictive the Ilitch family can be. That’s why I think he’s lying. Those around him wouldn’t do that. But Shep has to play “look what I know and you don’t” in his search for relevance.
  15. But they could have had those conversations 3 weeks ago. That’s why sheps tweet is bull****. 2 weeks ago everyone was ok with his “limited” schedule. Now we are to believe the Tigers weren’t?
  16. Reading up on this again in the News has me ticked off even more at the Shepard tweet. Guess the dude has to get his podcast going. He’s starting **** that doesn’t need starting.
  17. I mean are people going to forget where they are at? I wonder if they've replaced the handful of Comerica Bank signes around the stadium?
  18. I just went with the idea it had to be a younger person and "Why would they make a movie about a relatively young person" and death is what I came up with. All the President's Men is a great call. I love 70's movies. They were so tight. I watched that for the first time a few years ago. I peeked into Moneyball some more b/c I had a feeling the guy who played Justice might be close.... but 4 years off.
  19. I don't know if I believe it was on the Tigers. If it were why did they announce what they did a few weeks ago? I'm not yet buying into anything cynical about this.
  20. Jennifer Lopez, born 1969, played Selena in the movie about her. She was born in 1971. is that a major motion picture? I don't know. But it's what I could come up with after a few minutes.
  21. blasphemous is too strong a word for a stadium 25 years old but it stinks nontheless. No personality.
  22. March 16 is a good date for “firsts” in the space program. Gemini VIIII launched on this day in 1966. It had two notable firsts involving a crew that performed their own “firsts” later on. Neil Armstrong and Dave Scott performed the first space docking. This was after Gemini 6 failed to do it because the target agent rocket had issues and blew up. Docking was a huge objective in going to the moon. Both in terms of physically being able to connect but in learning about trajectories and orbital mechanics and proving that the math and computers were spot on. Shortly after docking their combined craft became to roll. They undocked the agena and that made it worse. Almost a revolution a second. They had to activate the reentry control system to stabilize as nothing else worked. The problem was a stuck thruster kept moving them. This was the first in flight space emergency. It happened during a communication blackout and the crew themselves almost blacked out. They wouldn’t have survived. The flight lasted 10 hours and 6 orbits. The astronauts involved later had their own firsts. Neil obviously was the first to walk on the moon. Dave Scott was the first person to drive on the moon and also the first person to dock to a lunar module on Apollo 9. The egos of the astronauts led to rumors that some thought Neil “screwed the pooch” but obviously NASA management disagreed. Both guys were put into early Apollo assignments that led to commands of lunar missions and Dave Scott is one of 4 to fly in two Apollo missions. There would have been more if not for cancellation
