  1. It shows the difference of a national writer who looks at from a broader perspective rather than local fans/media who only look at it from one team's perspective.
  2. I start my work day at home and put on Fox 2 News and there's this strange sporting event on involving people from other countries that seemingly never ends. WHen it's finally completed they spend 10 minutes showing me half the participants hugging and crying.
  3. Don’t make me say nice things about him.
  4. If he opts out and his agent calls the Tigers Harris will be like “new phone who dis?’ He is being polite and diplomatic now because he’s on his team and may be for a few more years. The second he’s not then he’s done with him.
  5. I’m not sure he’s worth more than his current deal. I’m fine if it opts out and leaves.
  6. Kind of a gift on strike 3 but whatevs
  7. He's like Nick Adams.... so good I'm not sure it's just a burner account.
  8. You have to gather evidence and it appears all of the evidence came from the GOP sources and that took some time to work though since they wouldn't just volunteer it. If they had arrested him in July 2021 they wouldn't have had a lesser chance at conviction.
  9. and if a little less means the level of crap then why bother? Truth is we simply don't know the teams or the players involved so it's all bull**** speculation.
  10. Those are also risks the obtaining team has to carry and that factors into the value they offer. The Tigers can't force a team to make a deal.
  11. As I said earlier.... there's risks with ERod. The opt out, both taking it and not taking it. You could get a rental. You could get stuck with junk. The fact he left last year for whatever reason. Fans seem to think those risks meant he needed to be moved especially since this year is presumed lost. Fair enough. But those are risks other teams know and would have to assume. Therefore his value is affected. So do you just dump him for a random minor leaguer with little hope? I can't see a team willing to move much to get him for those reasons alone. I said all along Harris didn't have to make trades just to make trades. This isn't 2017. There's no crime in keeping a solid player for the fans this year who already bought tickets.
  12. That reflects the changes over time as leagues have their own programming now. In the past writers and the media would brag that the teams needed them to sell tickets and promote the brand. Now... nobody buys papers. Everything is online. You have MLB Network and deals with ESPN and Fox and Turner. The players aren't hanging around with the writers like they used to. For one they don't live in the same areas like before. They most likely don't drink. They are busy working out and staying healthy. There's nothing really the papers offer us as fans anymore.
  13. The response to this non trade has been remarkable and reveals the worst about instant news and discussion points. Fans were ready to talk about the trade, it didn't happen, now they are pissed because they couldn't talk about it.
  14. Get ready for the drumbeat of “Obama judges” and “Biden’s DOJ”
  15. Tiger twitter knows everything
  16. The more I think about that Henning tweeet I believe it. That’s his way of backtracking his initial criticism once he got more info. I do believe Harris had an agreement from Eduardo then he reneged. Harris won’t admit that because he won’t publicly bash his player so his comments are guarded.
  17. Henning does Henning and suggests that Eduardo agreed to the dodgers deal initially then backed out. Can’t tell if that’s his opinion or a sourced allegation. All the reasons people give for having to trade him are considerations team have to make in receiving him and what that price will be.
  18. These geniuses on twitter are something else. As if they were on the calls and know the offers and parameters….
  19. No. It’s up to the team to see thru the hype. They should be just as knowledgeable as the other guy.
  20. I’m not sure I can handle a Lee on the Tigers. I keep thinking of our Lee.
  21. We've discussed him here too
  22. I was on vacation up north at Michigan Adventure and drained my battery following along. I remember seeing video of Dombrowski in the tunnel to the dugout trying to get their attention to get him off the field. Once the game starts only field personnel are allowed in the dugout. He couldn't go past a certain point. Also.... Suarez at SS... hurts.
  23. I think Heyman is a shill for players and agents. They use him and he plays along.
  24. I worry about turnout. If there's high turnout, then Trump will lose. If there's low turnout then he could win if his supporters are still passionate. But I question that too. Plus I don't overlook the covid death numbers. His margins were so slim that it wouldn't take much. I guess it will come down to AZ, GA,WI, and to a lesser extent PA and NC. Also don't overlook abortion. It's still a hot topic. If Trump isn't the nominee then I think it will be someone like a Kemp or Youngkin who will come in at the last minute. I also have it in my head that Christie could get it. I know that's crazy considering where he is in the polls but I also remember McCain being pretty low in 2008, but that was an entirely different electorate.
  25. His employees will be found guilty of something and he'll cut them out so fast. Nobody except Ivanka is safe and there's only one reason for that. The man still has hope.
