It could just be something that's not a priority right now. That's my hope at least... that it's not a case of someone saying "We think they're fine...." or "we won't spend the money" Then again who knows what goes on behind the scenes. Maybe they see the flaws we do and he's working on it. Does he still do other work? I don't listen to the radio anymore.

The occassional scratch offs are fine and make a great birthday/christmas present for adults. I've got like $40 in tickets to redeem and I usually get the $20 ones with those. I go into my local gas station nearly every day on my daily walk. When I go in for that or gas.... it's the same people buyig tickets after ticket. It's sad.

I struggled with Hamilton and it's my own doing I think. I like the subtitles on. Especially with singing I have always struggled with hearing what they say. But for Hamilton it was distracting because after 15 minutes I found myself just reading a very brief history of things I already knew. I was missing the "performance" of it all. So I turned them off and it was better. But.... I don't know. It didn't get me like apparently everybody else in the universe. I was "meh" about it. I'm not a musical guy at all. I think it's because of the aforementioned problem understanding what they are saying in the song. To me it's just noise. I can't pick out the word

Maybe but I detect some smokiness to it too. Perhaps the fine nature of the powder dispersed it more.

A while back I was making my pasta sauce. I always put crushed red pepper in it. I mistakenly grabbed the chili powder instead and didn’t notice. You have to shake hard on the red pepper flakes so I did that with the chili powder. I scooped most of it out and that was that. I also put in garlic powder and other Italian seasonings. I just use store bought sauce. I also water it down some because I don’t like it thick and it helps with acidity. Sue me. last week the same thing happened with the chili powder but this time I left it in. Everyone loved it. Today…. Same thing. I didn’t solicit opinions or tell them what I did. We eat pasta every Tuesday. I didn’t use a lot. Just a shake or two. I usually do 5 or 6 shakes of the other stuff.

We used our China once.... in 25 years. I think it was during the pandemic, the Easter when we were still locked down and it was just us and her mom. Wife wanted something "nice". I forgot we even had it. We also have a quesadilla maker, that came from our uncle who was addicted to the Casinos. He got it "for free". That free item probably ended up costing a family member $25K in inheiritance.

I wonder if the person could even hear you or was listening? I order taco bell every Sunday when I visit my mom. I use their app. "Grab and Go". They even have a nice display on the counter for those orders. Yet every week they don't put it there. I see it sitting by the workers. People busy, making stuff, getting things for the drive thru. I'm standing there. Nobody asks. In situations like this I like to wonder why it is that way and I imagine it's because people take the wrong order. Delivery drivers for the ubereats of the world etc. just grab whatever they see, assuming it's for them. But the apps are amazing. Especially for Chick Fil A by us. Its timed perfect in our situation.

the best and easiest advice I would give any young people starting out with their own place... if ever plan on doing any painting on their own, invest in some high quality heavy tarps. Get several shapes. Get more than you think you'll need so that you can fold them up into any combination of shape you require for that job. It might cost you a few hundred up front. But they will last. Get them as a "shower" gift if you must, much more practical than a bread maker, waffle maker, or fancy china. All that stuff just sits unused in boxes.

If Trump had backed someone other than McCarthy I don't think that person would have had a shot.

Millennials and Zoomers do not watch baseball. The only sports that draw them are football and baseball.

Yes. Always. We basically have a “pile”. Every few months I go thru it. I usually find auto and home insurance policy renewals. Old EOB medical docs. Bank statements unopened from accounts that we don’t touch. Medical bill. All the important things are stored elsewhere in a safe. I still have 2 boxes in my garage from when I cleared my office out after COVID. There were proprietary things in there but not anymore. It is amazing to think I had 2 file cabinets of papers I haven’t looked at in nearly 3 years.

I wonder if someone dug thru previous presidents papers they have what could be found? There’s millions of documents. The individual doesn’t do all of that. It’s staffers. Are they really being diligent? Do you just grab a stack of Manila folders from file cabinet A and shove them in a box without looking through each one? I wouldn’t be surprised if this kind of thing happens all the time but given what Trump did by fighting it then it becomes news now.

https://www.presidency.ucsb.edu/documents/letter-president-eisenhower-upon-signing-bill-restoring-his-military-rank he was restored to “active duty”. A technicality as he had no authority. Just an ego boosting ego thing.

After leaving office JFK restorer Ike’s army status. That’s the cliffs notes version. He did that to soothe the old man and butter him up. It was his preferred title and especially at that moment in time JFK needed Ike’a support to convince the country. He’d have called him Master Ike the Supreme if that would have worked.

Which begs the question… what happens in 10 years? Will my generation that scooped up the McMansions in the 90s and 00s be able to sell them and move down there? (Speaking figuratively, I did not do that and will not consider Florida). Who can we sell them to?

They are pretty tone deaf if they think they can win that battle.

In terms of a franchise icon, Yzerman tops Lidstrom for sure. But as for a player…. Nick is second only to Gordie. Seven Norris trophies. Yzerman has said that himself.
-
I say Cisneros because that to me is more common of a name. Like calling Christin Stewart “Christian”. I didn’t care enough to bother getting it right. Just a casual glance at text. You skip past it. People still refer to Nick Lidstrom as “Lindstrom” and he’s a Hall of Famer and the second greatest Detroit Red Wing of all time. That’s wrong.

From the Apollo 10 transcripts. this flight was a full dress rehearsal for the first moon landing. Young and Cernan late commanded lunar missions and Cernan holds the distinction of being the last man to walk on the moon Young flew the first space shuttle mission along with another. Combined those with his two Gemini and two Apollo missions, plus the launch from the lunar surface, he holds the record for most blast offs (seven). I suspect he’s the culprit for this blast off. Tom Stafford: "Oh... who did it?" John Young: "Who did what?" Eugene Cernan: "Where did that come from!?" Tom Stafford: "Give me a napkin quick, there's a turd floating through the air"

We're planning an anniversary trip to Aruba, probably, and watching those set me up probably for disappointment. Those resorts cost thousands a day. Mine, not so much.

yeah I think I liked season 2 better as well. I really hated the character Aubrey was married to. More so than the douchebag from season 1. I liked how they kept some things for to you speculate on your own. Did she really fool around or just want to make him think she did, with that dude's consent? Make him jealous.

Don't know if this is a paywall article: https://www.freep.com/story/entertainment/music/brian-mccollum/2023/01/13/stevie-wonder-reflects-on-the-late-jeff-beck-a-great-soul/69802076007/ They say that Wonder already had the song but encouraged Beck to record it too. Quoted piece below. They later talk about how Motown insisted on releasing Stevie's version first rather than a B Side, which Stevie didn't prefer. He had it for Jeff to do. Some say it caused a riff between Wonder and Beck but Stevie downplays it. In New York in ’72, Wonder was thrilled with Beck's work on "Pure Love." He and Cecil encouraged the guitarist to record a version of a new, unreleased song Wonder had recently written and tracked: "Superstition." Beck saw it as a gift from Wonder. When it comes to origin stories of songs from that era, details can be cloudy or lost to time. It has often been reported that "Superstition" emerged from an impromptu jam by the two artists, with Beck at a drum kit and Wonder at a clavinet keyboard. But Wonder clarified Wednesday that a rough track of the song was already complete when he first played it for Beck at the studio.

I wonder if Gaetz has that picture of white/Greg Allman Jesus up when he does the sex trafficking?

THye recently changed the format of feeds to "For you" and "following". It is along the top. Mine defaults to "For you". I keep having to change it to "Following". NOt sure if that's the same as the old "Latest Tweets" and "Top Tweet" where they tried to feed you what they think you want.

We had a wooden slat fence in HS. Like the kind they put up in parks during autumn to trap all the leaves. It was removable so the soccer field could also exist. One of the slats was split in two and I ran into it, I caught the ball though. It was a foul ball so I didn't save a HR. Sustained a serious gash on my wrist but I wouldn't get it stitched because I was afraid I wouldn't be able to participate in the postseason. 34 years later this is what's on my wrist still.
