  1. when we were driving home from our yearly trips to TN, we always picked up WJR just south of Lexington. That's when the mountains started to give way. This was only during the night though. When I started driving I would like to leave around 3 pm, but before that the "old people" left in the morning.
  2. My company sends out phishing tests and if you fail, then you are put on a list for potentail training. If you pass, you don't. The way you pass is 1) don't open it, 2) they give us a method to report a phish attempt. It's also a good way to get out of some stuff. A few times I would say "Sorry, didn't see that, I thought it was a phishing attempt"
  3. Pre WDFN I would listen to "Sports Wrap" on WJR, it was in the evening but I don't recall the precise time. 6:30 to 8? Frank Beckman... Paul Chapman... Steve Courtney (He's still around I guess, I saw him in a commercial, haven't listened to WJR in a very very long time). On the weekend ESPN Radio was fun. I delivered pizzas so it was always there for me. Just a couple of guys goofing off in a studio. They made me laugh. There's something about the need to fill air over a few hours in an era when not everything was televised. So you'd hear the updates every 15 minutes and it was like listening to guys live tweet events. Had a morning show vibe to it and a fun way to stay on top of national sports news.
  4. Near Sibley and Allen, Riverview. Next door to Riverview Highlands. They have a couple of very cool looking small buildings on the property.
  5. Unless he plays well. Which I don't expect. The new fences means he will be hitting some bombs!
  6. Imagine a 20 year reunion of the 2012 team and a 350 pound Miggy comes out to the seating area.
  7. During election season there were Karmano people meeting at our civic center, where we work out. This group of people were far out The cars with stickers all over them people with hats and shirts fill or bottoms and other things they looked like clowns
  8. Even the base coaches are better
  9. I was interrogated about them a few weeks ago by someone who didn’t know that JV and Max play for the Mets. When I told him and the contracts he then went on about how they make too much money.
  10. Finley roasts the state GOP.
  11. I never knew any of that until I read a great book about the relationships between presidents. Roosevelt stripped Hoover’s name off the dam. Truman put it back.
  12. I’ll throw out Hoover and Truman as guys who got redemption. Truman just by paying more attention, thanks to the Ambrose book, and Hoover for his post WWII work on saving Europe from famine. Can debate it obviously. Ford just cashed it all in and joined any board that would have him.
  13. I’m sure Howard Kurtz will talk about it too. Right?
  14. Jimmy Carter entering hospice care. 98 years old.
  15. Straight up mafia tactic. “Pay us to not let people steal your stuff”. You are giving them money that they invest. It’s not a storage locker that you are renting for your money.
  16. They raised the price of at bat $10. Last couple of seasons I got it free for being a ticket holder. I love the convenience of not need to find a radio to listen. Mentally $30 is a big difference from $20 though.
  17. Censorship!
  18. Saw Ant Man. Liked it. Tight movie. Didn’t feel bored. Majors was awesome. Sets things up real nice. credit scenes are really good.
  19. Nope. Probably thinking he has some NDA/non-disclosure thing in play.
  20. Camp feels different this year. Throws are crisper. Guys are attentive. Motivated. Asking different questions.
  21. I didn't read it but doesn't the "need" for blackouts still exist due to non Bally networks? It's to protect their local partners ability to charge cable and satellite fees.
  22. Yep, I know. Which speaks volumes. They won't admit on air what's in the text messages. But even if you the answer... make them give it.
  23. Townhall readers think they're past their prime after 23.
  24. I think the Palace was a different situation altogether. They didn't move to LCA because of the Palace facility itself. Tom Gores saw an opportunity at LCA with it being downtown. It was about branding. They merged their entertainment companies into one business unit. He was able to sell/develop the valuable property in Auburn Hills. I think I've been to more Piston games at LCA than games at the Palace (After 1994) to be honest. Hated that place. Hated the drive. Hated the wait to get out of the parking lot. My son and his friends go to Piston games all the time. At the palace it never would have happened. They go to games and do other stuff while in Detroit. What's their to do in Auburn Hills but get lost in a corn field?
