I saw Miggy hit a HR last year and immediately got a little goose bumpy thinking "This could be his last HR here" or "I might have seen him hit the last HR in person".... things like that. If the team were in contention and winning games mattered to get into the playoffs, then yes, you could argue it's better to put a less crappy guy in the lineup. But he's not going to block anybody good with his at bats this season. Miggy is the best position player many of us have ever see in a Tiger uniform.

I think Mitch is in a good position. He did his job. He got 3 lifetime appointments to the SC. That was all him. The rest of his career is gravy. He doesn’t need the crazies anymore. He can play the high road now and attempt to protect his legacy.

and I realized the GOP wasn't really fiscally responsible. To them that means tax cuts for the wealthy and corporations. The spending stayed the same. Just a matter of who gets it. In that scenario I'd rather it be those who need it. The GOP wants a world where you either make a half million or more a year, or you are stuck in service/gig jobs struggling to get to $50K a year. You are easier to control that way.

are you questioning that his milestone chase didn't drive up attendance for certain games? They drew 65K fans for a double header on a Saturday in April. Without 3000 hits that wouldn't have happened. I'm guessing if they do a "Miggy" day here, before school starts in September, that will draw well. But obviously attendance potential is not going to be a factor in what the team decides to do.

If the issue is simply paid sick days that seems like small potatoes to cause such a disruption.

I’m not complaining that it gets dark so early per se… but after working at home then getting dinner going immediately and cleaned up so early on Mondays due to a commitment why wife has…. I often like to take a quick Power Nap to chill. Just lay back and close my eyes for 10 minutes. But with it being dark out it feels weird. So I turn the light on in our hallway so it’s half lit in the room.

which is interesting because John Cleese in particular is against cancel culture. Not saying he's a right winger at all but when it comes to going after comedians for jokes he's not a fan. He discussed this on a Marc Maron WTF podcast. He said they have Polish jokes but it's about the Irish. He told one of a rabbi walking on the beach with his grandson. A big wave comes in and snatches the boy away. He gets on his knees and pleas to God to bring his grandson back and offers up a bunch of promises. A wave comes back and his grandson washes ashore, shaken up but ok. Then the rabbi yells out "When he went in he had a hat on" (think of it told in a British accent)
