  1. I didn't think the Biden DOJ went after democrats?
  2. I've seen the Infamous Stringdusters a few times. When I got the alert they were playing at Pine Knob it puzzled me as it seemed a little big time for them, now I see why. Should be a good show. I've seen Bob Weir's solo show too.
  3. Jerry Reed was a good picker too...
  4. Team is 12-7 in Sept. I'd like to see 78 wins. That would be the most since Verlander played on the team.
  5. Car Dealerships.... where everyone gets a trophy. Ever notice how every one of them has all the top awards. I will say this... finding techs is extremely difficult now for the dealers. That affects the ability to service. It's a constant topic of conversation in my line of work. What usually happens is you get a good one then they find a "desk type" job with a supplier putting that real world talent to use upstream after a few years of wrenching and busting their knuckles.
  6. Maybe he didn't think it was fair to hire one over the other.... and it leaves them open to getting a GM job elsewhere if that interests them. In one sense you can say "Hey, you guys got to keep your jobs during a regime change, not many people can say that... now show us something."
  7. That's the new way. In order to get these top baseball guys from other organizations you have to give them top titles. What used to be the GM until the last 15 years or so was what the Presidents of Baseball Ops people do today. Organizations have gotten much larger and roles exist today that didn't back then so you have to give them titles and create a hierarchy. Jim Campbell reported to the owner. He was the equivalent of PBO. Now the GM reports to PBO and scouts and other staff report through him. Scott Harris was always going to be the key baseball person.
  8. Has Tigers twitter started ripping on him yet? We should ask him what he would have done with Jeimer last year.
  9. and Cubs before that Seeing what he did with the Hawks is impressive and the kind of thing a GM does nowadays.
  10. I was in the Newark airport in May. It was a layover before flying to Aruba. On the way down we got breakfast sandwiches and juice. I just looked at my AMEX from that time, $33.04. On the way back we got dinner, just burgers/sandwiches. Don't think I had a real drink. That was $53.25. This was for two people mind you.
  11. google has become increasily irrelevant to me it seems over the last few months. Basic searches return ads and links to videos. I hate watching videos. I want text. Don't trust ChatGPT yet.
  12. Because they are programmed and to think Mexicans and Ukraine gets all the money.
  13. My algorithm for YouTube gives me a ton of Eisen and Pollack clips. The one where he talks about Nicholson is great… referring to Chinatown and Angelica.
  14. Speaking of OnlyFans the other day I drove up to a car with an Onlyfans sticker on it. Tinted windows including the front so I couldn’t see who was driving. It puzzled me. If it’s a performer that seems dangerous. Why would a subscriber do that?
  15. If I were a doctor I would need a cheat sheet posted somewhere.
  16. I like twitter to follow topics I am interested in and I still get useful info and entertainment from certain accounts. For example the last two epsiodes of Ahsoka were really good and I used twitter to see what others were thinking. It has its uses for a news feed if you curate who you follow. I do that every few months. Even if it's something or someone you agree with politically it can still be toxic as it just riles you up and makes you mad. I have to get rid of those people.
  17. I turn 50 in a few weeks and I'm wondering if my doctor will mention it next week.
  18. The save stat is so unique in that it's probably the only stat that dictates, or dictated, personnel moves. You have a designated pitcher who only comes in when nobody's on base and all you need is 3 outs and is expected to only pitch 1 inning. In that scenario a decent pitcher who have success and rack up a good number of saves. So then front offices think you need to build around that. You don't build bullpens. Bullpens happen because of failure and they are fleeting.
  19. I will be getting it next week I’m sure when I get my physical.
  20. Conspiracy theoriests don't require any consistency, logic, or discipline. Any pushback or factual refutation just means the conspiracy runs deeper. It's a convenient tool for idiots.
  21. I suspect a lot of those people on the picket line voted for him and he was the first GOP vote they ever cast. He will play up the "They are taking your jobs and making people buy EV's"
  22. That's a good comp. And the Wings in 2009. But at the same time those teams won the title the previous year. Another comp is the Pistons in 88/89.... if I knew the Tigers would win the WS in 2012 or 2013 then sure I'd take it. But if we're still stuck with only '84 in my lifetime I don't know.... That HR by Freese is one of my favorite non Tiger baseball moments of the last 20 years to be honest.
  23. Regarding the 2011 postseason.... that was the year we lost to the Rangers in the ALCS. They went on to lose to the Cards where they were one strike away from winning the WS. Question for the group. Would you rather the tigers win the ALCS that year but the price is to have the same thing happen to you? One strike away from winning the WS to then lose that game and game 7? I'm not sure I'd make that trade. I couldn't handle the heartbreak.
