  1. What is their argument?
  2. Gas is highly competitive because it’s the only thing you care about at that facility and the price is displayed outside and you can compare on the spot. But when a business had to hike the price of a hamburger or box of cereal are they in such a position that they have to lower it immediately? Psychologically people will accept prices as they are on certain things.
  3. Retire Bison Dele's number too. That was tragic.
  4. Hey porkchop.... guess what? We've always had some form of a wall along our borders somewhere. TV boy just tried to trademark it as his own intellectual property. He didn't invent it. His "wall" was a metaphor.
  5. relying on goodwill and people to just "figure it out on their own" is a lost cause now. Either go when you can, like if the other car is still at the window, or just alternate like normal human beings would think to do. "Take turns". Remember that in kindegarden?
  6. Billy Strings played at Lollapalooza and it seems like a lot of people discovered him for the first time according to the twitter.... Welcome to the club.
  7. only "democrat" cities though.
  8. Why are people in such a hurry? They act like somebody's going to steal their shit. When I travel I get a kick out people watching. "Hurry up to wait" is the mantra. Gotta run down to the gate so I can sit around. Gotta stand up and near the 'line' even though its not my turn to board yet, the plane might take off without me!" Then plane lands and you gotta jump up and get your bag because someone might take it even though nobody's going anywhere for a few minutes. Run down to the luggage claim so you can stare at an empty conveyor belt before anyone else does. I don't offer much life advice to my 21 year old son but last year I told him "Don't ever be the guy running in the airport".
  9. if those women had 'courage' they'd just suck it up like a man and fight their way through it, right Jim?
  10. I love 3YearLetterman..... a friend and I try to do that kind of thing with each other but that guy nails it. One of my favorite twitter accounts.
  11. But Hillary.... Hunter.... something....
  12. Anyone going to see phish next week? A wednesday will be tough to pull off but I'll be there.
  13. @chasfh was there....
  14. Another group is those in their mid to late 30s. They came of age when the housing collapsed. I have some cousins who had good jobs out of college that have a house worth $500K now that they got for a lot less. Timing.
  15. Just a grifting attempt.
  16. Would anyone still be after him on the drug trade side of things? Is it just the feds he has to worry about? I assume he's still got a big pile of cash to draw from? I'm excited because these writers have never let us down have they?
  17. Regarding the jerseys... I'm 48 and hated them. My son is 21 and he and his friends loved them. He bought one last year and I guess the story is... we're not the demographic they are after anymore. Makes me sad. I'm going out to yell at some clouds now.
  18. It's a pretty good bet that we all know someone going through the same struggles.
  19. Fox News is having a parade over the .9% GDP thing. I didn't want to put that in the investment thread as I know you regulars like to keep the politics out of it.
  20. so that's a confirmation that it's the Walt and Jesse episode since the first time Saul appeared on BB was title was "Better Call Saul". It will not be a cameo. I think it's going to be significant and will lead to a distinct shift of some sort.
  21. that's odd to me b/c I assume Whitmer will win rather easily. By that I mean a few points. Won't be an Engler/Feiger landslide but....
  22. I don't have any opinion of Harbaugh. I don't do football. He's just a name to me. He's presenting an overly simplistic opinion on a narrow situation on a very complicated topic and inferring, as pfife pointed out, that his method is courageous and by default is inferring that if you don't follow his method then you lack courage. He's the one making personal attacks. I think that lady in Texas would disagree. Legislators are focusing on just one small problem and the consequences of that extend a lot further. He's also a public employee (highest paid state employee in MI) making political statements and involving his family so I fail to see how they are not possibly fair game for criticism.
  23. Because the fact he needs to tell us that shows his arrogance. Why do we need to know? His statement on what he would do in a situation is irrelevant and has nothing to do with what public policy should be or what other people should do in their lives and in their situation. He gives off a "I'm better than you" vibe. I'm very happy that people choose to adopt, it makes the world a better place. But you can't force people to do that and our laws should not be based on that option. It's akin to saying we should ban eating meat because someone else went vegan and feels so much better for it.
