  1. agreed. I think politically it's a wash probably. But I also think it aligns with them doing something that they think is right for the most part regardless of the politics. If they wanted it to be political they would have had different thresholds I think.
  2. people actually answer their phones when it's a number they don't recognize? I just hit the button. If I do answer as soon as I hear a delay or unfamiliair voice I just hang up. I get a text every few days from a number that just says "Hi". I reply back with a photo of a drunk shirtless guy I took at the Def Leppard/Crue concert.
  3. I like it. It was nice seeing the Giants and Padres this year in person.
  4. last night at the game someone in front of me was betting the whole game.
  5. Women are going to save the country and that's what drives the right wingers crazy. We have our 3 MI gals leading our state.
  6. there is a boomerang looming back to more traditional beer. The craft beer craze got out of hand. Just because you can doesn't mean you should. It's b/c the craft demand was driven by the pokemon generation. The chase was the fun. I got that analogy from an article a few years ago. They talked to a brewer who sent a barrel to a restaurant and when he called back the guy said "Yeah they loved it!" When he asked if they wanted another he said "No, my customers don't want the same thing twice". Craft brewers were caught in a war where everything had to be new and different and when everything is different then it's all the same. Find a formula, do it well, and repeat it. I don't need hazelnut cinnamon bourbon barreled stouts with a touch of basil. Just give me a good stout. It became about the labels and beer name. Not what's inside.
  7. Give Donnie boy credit... he was right about Marco and Ted.
  8. Robbie with an other Ofer last night. Wonder if Hinch and Coolbaugh snicker at that shit?
  9. Yes it was. And the later starts didn’t help. We partied with some nice SF fans who flew in that day once they win game 3 and ticket prices plummeted. They were nice people. “We are all baseball fans.” It was weird. I got excited when they were winning and Peralta almost won it in the 9th. But I didn’t want them to win because it meant my tickets for game 5 would activate and cost me $190. I knew they were not going to win the series.
  10. I remember losing games 2 and 3 2-0 and game 4 in extra innings. I remember game 3 having the bases loaded and then came Quentin Berry and Miguel... zip.
  11. Other one guilty on both charged counts as well.
  12. I think we discussed gas prices in here before, if not my apologies. I keep seeing stories about them going down by my stations dipped to 3.89 a few weeks ago but went back to 3.99 recently and stayed there. However I did get gas in Flint on Sunday for $3.63. Quite a few in that area that we passed by in that range.
  13. He came into camp in '84 complaining about his low pay. He even said something like "These bums are making more than me". So we traded him for the 1984 Cy Young winner. But who's to say that deal wouldn't have happened anyway. Legend is that Sparky tagged Willie as a potential target while doing TV work in the playoffs in '83.
  14. Right it was never considered that a major party would be so compromised to actually nominate someone convicted for that.
  15. and the GOP will blame the Democrat Mayor of NYC.
  16. That's all true. But as long as people like Rubio, Cruz, McCarthy, Tucker, Hannity, etc. see nothing wrong with it then so will 40% of the public and another 8% will say "Yeah that's bad but we can't have 'socialism' so we still have to vote for the GOP". If Trump is convicted he'll get pardoned by Pres. DeSantis.
  17. “They always do better when they leave” is a constant sports fan radio trope. people still going on about eesock
  18. Why I have no issue with what Hinch said. He has nothing to gain by going further than he did.
  19. Since his last homer to spark that story he's at a .154/.214/.154 slash line.... I'm not saying the coaching staff is great but when going on about a team's analytics it's not a good data point to use a 3 game stretch as an obvious example from the outside of an organization's inner workings.
  20. With regard to public narrative it could be like what they say in Spring Training with a new manager and how "everything feels different now. Guys are hustling. Throws are crisper. More engaged". Just BS nonsense that looks good on paper.
  21. As a 10 year old when he got traded we all had a lot of immature fun at his name. Seeing him at the closing ceremonies of Tiger Stadium was a highlight. He got a lot of applause.
  22. I remember that.
