What I have learned is the writers are very good and we don’t know what they will do.

They represent “real” Americans though. If you don’t own a truck and take a train to work everyday in an office downtown then you aren’t worthy. Only if you have guns and wear tractor hats should you have more influence.

Are you considering Chris Ilitch the richest owner in sports? I bet he’s not top half.

I think once a suspect is free and running unless they are a threat, by holding a weapon, then you let them go. You don’t shoot them in the back. But in the course of apprehension and they start to fight back then at that point I give the officers the benefit of the doubt. If a person is totally prone and helpless is when I have the problem. I judge each incident on its own merits. This isn’t them shooting the old man in the electric scooter from 10 feet away. When in hand to hand combat… sorry. I need more evidence.

I’m kind of thinking that the struggle there was a bit much so I’m not yet going to judge the officer. Convince me.

Wife’s hospital has more flu cases than covid. Unusual to have that many flus this time of year too.

I gave blood last week and my antibodies came back reactive + which means antibody levels were detected at high enough levels to be used as convalescent plasma. Whether that means it's from an infection or from the vaccine is unknown. I got my second booster about 6 months ago. My friend told us yesterday her son tested postive but she was negative. Then last night she told me she had a sore throat and her other son did too (he already had it in 2020). Then today she says both positive. No word on her husband.

and that was then it seemed like there was a no hitter every week so big deal.... did they confirm there was a change to the ball or something?

A person I was working out next to yesterday for 60 minutes tested positive this morning. I ran a half marathon with her on Saturday too. She had tested negative earlier in the week but now positive. So I'm in a wait and see approach. See how I feel and probably test Saturday or Sunday morning if I have symptoms. I"ve made it this far without being tested and leave it to a doctor to infect me... she feels horrible about it.

another good point. Also it was the 6th inning. The giants scored their runs in 3 innings. No reason the Padres couldn't do the same.

more guns in the hands of the general public... what can go wrong?

I really liked Kapler's explanation on bunting against the Padres up 8 or whatever it was. It's not just about that game. It's about the series. Make their bullpen work. Maybe by extending innings you make a guy unavailable tomorrow. I never heard that as a reason given before but it's totally appropriate.

Obligatory quote any time Oscar is referenced: They don't think it be like it is, but it do

They are a convenient grouping of stats that looks nice... like the Triple Crown. But you can quite easily have a better pitched game with a walk or base hit than a no hitter.

Are perfect games overrated? You don't have to be great to throw one and your legacy doesn't change if you do. Nobody says 'well this guy was better because he pitched a no hitter and the other guy didn't". Nolan Ryan has the record and he's not on any serious lists for best pitcher ever.

I don’t count games like this. Weather games are iffy so to me they are like exhibition games. Right now all I am thinking is growth and evaluation. Hard to do that when the conditions suck.

Florida being invaded by Texas.... have at it boys. It'll be like Iran/Iraq in the 80's. Can't lose.

I just see the whole thing as a bunch of guys in suits and corporate people from the "boojie" suburbs (that's a term my wife and I use) getting rich off the lower income communities. Let those cities get the stigma and we'll get the money. We'll laugh at them. I'm not judging the use of it at all.

Some organizers wanted to do a "Spark in the park" at Hazel Park. Residents fought it and it was squashed. Now I'm not commenting on whether pot is good or bad or whatever.... but good for the residents of Hazel Park. I saw a few of the attorney organizers on TV lamenting the decision and I wanted them to be asked "Why don't you do this where you live? Have it in Northville or Birmingham or Bloomfield Hills.

These are the times I've laughed the hardest... meaning I really thought I was going to pass out. 1) The Naked Gun when he went to the bathroom 2) Dumb and Dumber 3) First time I heard the Jerky Boys, 1993 or so. They were bootlegs floating around 4) Gilbert Gottfried on Norm's podcast. They were discussing Michael Douglas, how he said he got throat cancer, Gottfried throwing out that "it's a small price to pay to *censor* Catherine Zeta Jone's *censor*"... , then adds "I'd *censor* her *censor* for lupus". Then it delved into the Jerry Louis telethons and Tony Orlando and him making one of the kids sing the chorus to Ghostbusters....
