  1. based on the story in the News this pretty thin. Slotkin moved to Lansing area due to redistricting. She's renting a condo, at $2K a month, from someone who recently moved to CT. That someone is linked to a company that has does business with the US Gov't for many years. That company has had support from many members of congress from both parties and both they are their competitors have been awarded contracts. A quick check on furnished Condos in Lansing showed that's a normal price. She's not overpaying and he's not under charging.
  2. service can even mean something like coaching a youth sports team or being a scout leader. Heck, even officiating youth sports. That is an industry that will be hurting very soon.
  3. The Bush family in particular had almost a religious zeal to service. Both George and Barbara's families were upper crust and established in the north east and subscribed to the message of Luke 12:48.
  4. It was around the same time. Both happened in spring training 2014 but I don't recall which came first.
  5. I guess I’m naive and fortunate because I don’t care about interest rates. I carry no CC debt. My mortgage is under 4. I’m not moving. I don’t need my investments for another 13-14 years. The only impact potentially is my car leases are up late next year but I have the sale price locked in if I want to buy and am fine doing that. I also get employee pricing.
  6. Love John King. And wolf always seems two steps behind.
  7. I purposefully didn't want it for that reason, I think it will make me too upset. Same reason I don't want to watch Dopesick even though I love Michael Keaton. Plus I still have a beef with Ken Burns over his part in the legacy of Ty Cobb. A smart guy like Burns should have known better and he at minimum owes it to history to create a new "inning".
  8. I still go to CNN for big news, even on election night. I assumed that's just because of how I was ingrained to think of it going back to Ted Turner and the 1980's. I used them for all the Queen stuff.
  9. I don't disagree. But how did society treat people prior to Vick when it comes to those activities? From what I have read it was a common thing to do not just in black communities but generally poorer ones. It's great that it's been shunned properly and all of that. But was it right he took such a big bullet and so many others didn't? And it's not to suggest he didn't deserve it but comparing how outlets like ESPN act right now when we learn what we have about Favre.
  10. I've seen some people bring up Michael Vick and how he was treated vs Favre. Have at it.
  11. The Yankee record is 61 and as usual NY thinks the world revolves around them so whatever they are dealing with then everybody has to deal with it too. It would be a fun local story if anyone challenged Greenberg's 58 HR for the Tigers but I wouldn't expect people anywhere else to care about it. But overall Judge's season is newsworthy as it relates to Ohtani and the MVP race so there's that.
  12. I believe Scherzer was hell bent on becoming a FA just so he could do his job to help raise the bar for others, unless he got a very very good deal from the Tigers before. But Ilitch probably didn't want to pay him more than Verlander, or Cabrera, and as a result got butt hurt when a player dare reject his "goodwill". You don't say no to Mike Ilitch. Doesn't matter if you are future HOFer's like Max Scherzer, Sparky Anderson, or Sergei Fedorov. So Mike made Dombrowski issue a press release to announce that negotiations broke off after they offered Max a huge deal. Before the season. Classy as always, those Ilitches.
  13. that's not sustainable is it?
  14. fixed that
  15. Mallory is going to be Michigan's next US Senator or Governor. If she wants to be.
  16. well he gets paid to figure this all out, not us.... I'm not worrying about it. Just nice to have some direction now.
  17. "fighting back" This will probably be broadcast on Fox News Channel, hosted by Mike Huckabee, with a panel featuring Jon Voigt, Chachi, Rob Schneider, and Randy Quaid.
  18. There was confusion as to why his team would recommend him. The only thing that made sense is he signed the FISA warrant for Carter page that later had some issues. That could mean they thought he had issues with the FBI. These people don’t recognize that perpetual grudges are not something most people carry.
  19. The migrants have filed a lawsuit.
  20. I’m not big on buzzwords but I liked hearing the word innovation a lot. i give the Ilitch family shit but their food empire is known for innovation.
  21. Mike Stone asks about Miggy's contract. Harris basically says it's a fair question but he needs to look at things and talk to Miggy and evaluate the system as a whole as right now it's "The Giants impression of the Tigers farm system"
  22. Judge Dearie was having none of the Trump bullshit..... so look for the Trump Team to whine and claim it's unfair.
  23. Chris Ilitch says Steve Yzerman participated in the process. Also shouted out to Hinch, Garko, Sartori and Mezin.
