  1. Possibly. I wasn't commenting on the merits of it, just summarizing the article for Romad. But independent of that I think my point is true about what minorities have experienced the last 35-40 years even after all the progress we've made.
  2. After a poor survey of MLB clubs on facilities, he was fired in Oct 21 by Sam Menzin. He's suing for racial and age discrimination. He'd been with the team since the 80's. They reference the Chris Bosio situation where another attendant made the claims and sued but no record of the lawsuit can be found by the reporter(s). I'm sure a black person who has been with the same org for 33 years will have some juicy examples over that time.
  3. I'm kind of sad b/c Billy is going to keep moving up and I'm afraid the intimacy will be gone. Very happy for him obviously. I saw him at The Strand in Pontiac around Christmas probably 6 years ago? Just a few hundred people.
  4. DFW is bad when it comes to rental car location. I remember being in the shuttle a long time. Florida's Southwest Airport (Ft Myers area) was the best but it's also a small airport. The car rental apps have really improved the last few years with regard to not having to talk to anybody or wait in lines. Just show up and my car is ready and show the person the QR code on the way out.
  5. What help did she need to be able to wear her hijab? In other words under what possible circumstance couldn’t she?
  6. Chris Ilitch doesn’t know who Jeimer Candelario is. And I am fine with that
  7. Ever since my last iOS update any twitter link opens up in a browser without me being logged in. I’ve done some searching and can’t figure out how to fix that. I have the app open and using it when I click the links.
  8. Is the only way he can do that is to have a vote of the full house? Otherwise the parties control who they put on the standing committees.
  9. They won’t get all of them. Question is how many “I didn’t vote for trump but will vote for Ron” people there are.
  10. I liked Jeimer for a while. He looked like a player to me but performance matters. I like the moves for the simple reason it shows some boldness.
  11. The Tigers have announced the following roster moves: *Agreed to terms with LHP Tyler Alexander on a 1-year contract for the 2023 season, thus avoiding arbitration. *Claimed OF Bligh Madris off waivers from Tampa Bay *Declined to tender contracts for the 2023 season to the following players: RHPs Miguel Diaz and Kyle Funkhouser, C Michael Papierski, INFs Jeimer Candelario and Brendon Davis and UTILs Harold Castro and Willi Castro
  12. I saw a tweet that said oil has gone down $10 since Election Day. My station is about 50 cents cheaper.
  13. I see the special council as a direct result of his announcement. Until that they wouldn’t appoint one otherwise then they claim they’re being too mean.
  14. I believe Musk is in a “break it then fix it” mode. Meaning find out what is really useful. You can easily discover what that is by breaking it. You might have a team of engineers supporting a feature nobody uses.
  15. Yep. Same here in Detroit. And from what I hear it's very cheap quality. Everything's empty but they keep building shit. Some guy bought the old Hyatt building in Dearborn and says it's going to be "mixed use". Condos/retail, etc. Fairlane Mall can't keep occupancy. Another local developer bought a Ford building nearby and that's also his plan. Who am I to tell someone who spent $20M on something that they don't know what they are doing but.... I'd bet $50 it's not a success.
  16. I know it's anecdotal and not the same thing but there's a new house being built on nearly every residential street in Dearborn. Certain cultures have no qualms about throwing up a 4,000 square foot home in a block of 1000 sq foot homes. Not sure where they are getting the workers. They move fast.
  17. They are so out of touch. I hope they do this. They learned nothing.
  18. Can they just sue Angel Hernandez?
  19. Precisely. When I see a GOP Pol and I think "I'd be ok with that I think...." I realize that's a lost cause.
  20. History is ripe with inevitable candidates 2 years away that peetered out. The only ones in recent history I can think of are Dubya/Gore in 2000 and Hillary.
  21. a friend and I go back and forth on Musk. I wondered what would happen if every employee declilned, and suddenly he has 0 employees but has 3 months severence to pay. He thinks oddly enough that Musk has planned for that.
  22. I've been listening to that lately. I like it. The one on Detroit Style Pizza was the most concise answer I've seen yet on who gets credit. It's messy but he lines it up really nice.
  23. From 3 miles away. With headphones it's awesome. You can feel the sound waves approaching and enveloping. Keep in mind this is at 1:30 am local time. I tried to stay up. Been waiting for this.
  24. David Cross is a good example of how subjective and unpredictable comedy can be in terms of what someone thinks is funny. I just don't get him. I've tried. I like to think I have good taste. I'm not criticizing him at all or saying he's not funny because obviously a lot of people think he is and who am I to argue? I don't like to do that. Maybe there's something I'm not getting.
  25. He's flailing. Making it up as he goes along.
