Right before they came back from commercial before the final half inning they showed the final out in ‘87 against Toronto. I actually got choked up. I was in high school. I started to think about how I was now (in 2006) married with 2 kids and a job and a house…. 19 years can be a small amount of years, like 2006 to now feels, or pretty much a lifetime, as 87 to 06 felt to me then.

They clinched the playoff spot in KC and celebrated. It was a Sunday. It was the first time in the playoffs in 19 years. Then they came home and lost the final 5 in a 6 game home stand to finish a game out of first. In that scenario it’s backwards from today. They lost the division after winning a playoff spot. But the division lead then wasn’t as large.

I am trying to be philosophical about it. You play 162. During that time you have hot stretches and cold stretches. Some come in May or June or July or the last 2 weeks of September.

Vasteras? That was Nick Lidstrom's hometown. He was a huge fan of his. I am friends with him on FB but he doesn't appear to be active. He gets tagged by family though so he's around still.

If somehow they win the division, they will. But if they keep losing and end up a WC team this weekend in Boston because others lost... I don't think they will. But who knows... I'm sure I'll be wrong again.

We only watch if we are interested. I’d say half the time I just delete without watching. And a sure sign of getting older is we often have idea who the guests are.

The funny thing is everybody I’ve seen say they should fire him also admit they don’t like him and don’t want watch him. I record all 3 of them and skim them for guests and music. I typically avoid the monologues and bits.

I would trust them more if the argument was simply "It's wrong" and not the qualifier of "They'll do it to us...." I say that with regard to Cruz. I don't know much of what the others have said yet.
