it's basically what the conservative movement has always been about. Those at the bottom can screw off and fend for themselves. Let's not help people who require it. Have a disability? **** you. Have autism? **** you. Have an injury or other issue that prevents you from working? **** you. Deaf or blind? **** you. Born to parents who maybe can't read very well or are not tech savy? **** you. Life and society should be tailored to everybody who is at 100% function and **** everybody else, that's too expensive, we can't afford it, i mean we can, but we gotta make sure people get a 18.6% return on their investment instead of 17% and we gotta build all that military equipment.

I never knew that the music for the CBS Special Presentation are spliced elements from Hawaii Five O's Call to Danger.

yet I bet when you try to get help with something you bitch about nobody being around to help and just blame it all in 'incompetence'. But it's different when it's something YOU need. When it's others, they're being lazy because you, Karen, are the epitome of self reliance. Just typical libertarian pie in the sky bull****. Everyone can be one until they need something. This is the kind of thing government should be doing. Providing services.

Today's the anniversary of the JFK assassination so the "common knowledge" around that is proof. Also, too many people think moon landings were fake for me to assume that any kind of volume gives credence to the correctness of something

Wonder what that does to the ethics investigation then? Didn't it stop because he wasn't a member of congress anymore and considered "irrelevant"?

of course FDR was nominated 4 straight times....

I wasn't thinking though in terms of attacks by the dems... just general historical observations. The stain of Trump being Trump clouded some historical things happening that normally would have been fodder for someone like me. First person nominated 3 straight cycles by his party. 2nd person to win non consecutive terms.... that kind of thing. First person born in the 80's nominated for a major ticket (dammit, we skipped the 70s!)... when was the last time we had someone with a beard on a ticket?

Kamala was in a situation that's unheard of in our history. It's also hard for sitting VP's to win. And for the reasons you outlined, Hillary was a pseudo sitting VP given she was a member of the party and a former cabinet official. The only thing the dems could have done better would been for Biden to announce after the 2022 mid terms that he wasn't running again. That proved to be a fatal flaw.

I’m surprised we didn’t get more stories or talk about JD Vance’s lack of experience. You have to go back to Agnew to find a VP with the same lack of government experience. He was only Gov of Maryland for 2 years. Prior to that you could go back to Charles Dawes, under Coolidge. He had some non cabinet level jobs but never Governor or congress.

Will it get to a point where we look down on a person on twitter but not Bluesky? Or look up depending on your POV?

that's right. I forgot. Freedom of speech means a right to be heard.

right. You can make the case for Hinch. And the others. Hinch wasn't robbed, thats my point. People online were acting like he was.

That's news to Trump folks because they don't pay their bills. To think you'd have to pay a bunch of hardworking union folks to set up stages and speakers and platforms and sound and lighting.... Unless they think oprah does all that work herself.

He's a lame duck already. Congress will ditch him as he both ages and his teflon wears off. They have to get re-elected, he doesn't.

I got bumped, for free, on a flight from DTW to Chicago and yeah... it was basically comfort plus. Only time I've been upgraded. We fly to Chicago now rather than drive. By the time you factor in gas and parking fees... it was only like $100 more and that's worth the piece of mind.

and given Trump's celebrity and name recognition before he became a politician it wil remain to be seen whether any movement toward him from these groups is transferrable to other GOP nominees. Traditional rules don't apply when he's involved. Is it him or is it the GOP? I'm skeptical of analysis and monday morning QB before the new term even begins. We don't now what the dems need to do yet. Too early for that.

I'm not bothered HInch only finished third. They were the 3rd wild card. An 8 game improvement. KC was the 2nd WC and had a 30 game improvement and Vogt's team won the division and they had a 16 game improvement. It's not a travesty.

Voting was done before the playoffs

I quit pop about 10 years ago. I first gave up coke then diet. I lost more weight when I quit diet. Was totally addicted. I would get a 20 ounce after lunch and would feel the sensation immediately. More so than any booze or cigarette ever did. the only time now I ever have it would be in a mixed drink at a wedding or whatever.

I’m still using it but I find myself unfollowing accounts each time I go on there. Basically anything political except for certain right leaning people whose opinions I still value as a sanity check. I also still find value in some of the entertainment based people and such. But I’m limiting my engagement. I think I replied once to a post since the election.

Mrs McMahon…. Vince’s wife is in the running for Education. I mean… par for the course.

Week Twelve: Detroit Lions (9-1) @ Indianapolis Colts (5-6)
oblong replied to MichiganCardinal's topic in Detroit Lions
I know this is nothing new to all of you but I wanted to see it for myself... going back to just over 2 years ago in 2022.... 29-6. -
I follow a lot of NASA sites on X, so far only their main account has transitioned to Bluesky, they've only made one post 6 days ago. Will be interesting to see waht they do given how ingrained they are with Elon. For reference on X, there's a NASA history page, a Johnson Space Center page, all the satellite centers like Glenn, Armstrong, Langley.... as well as some of the astronauts themselves. Will they be told not to do that by Elon?

saved them the hassle of signing him to a one day contract.

I turned off full access in my iphone settings for Google Photos to my photo library... but then when i go to google photos, I can't view them with that turned off. They require full access to my photo library on icloud for me to be able to view photos that they are storing?!? Oh, I can view their memories and faces and places and other compilations they've created for me but just not the regular picture roll. One strange thing I noticed which is either neat... or frightening. They do a collection based on faces. One of my lifelong friends is featured and it has the various photos of her and I from the last 10 years... and also a picture I took of our 4th grade class picture, the ones with 30 people in it. It freaking recognized a 51 year old woman from a tiny picture from 1983!
