I suspect it’s more to do with their management of the properties they’ve owned for 30 years. That’s my issue at least. I have little quibble with their sports management.

A preemptive defense of the pollsters, if necessary. They are based on data and objectivity. If turnout and voting patterns is a lot different from the past then how can they be expected to measure that? It’s a history based science isn’t it?

A former member of this community who had a job writing about politics, a right winger for sure, put it out there on FB that he didn’t vote for either major party candidate as he found both morally unacceptable. A close family member of mine told my wife that while she wouldn’t reveal who she voted for, that it differs from her husband who I am pretty sure voted for him. No this isn’t a situation where she can’t tell him or anything like that. They’re good people. She just wanted to keep it to herself. She’s very religious. Stories like that are probably amplified everywhere.

When Bush got the call in Detroit to visit with Reagan he had no idea what was going on. He was ready to go back to Houston to get into business again.

Isn’t the real questions whether any error on her part is large enough to not mean something anyway? A 5 point error still tells a story doesn’t it? And the follow up question is whether that’s something isolated to Iowa or at least other non industrial Midwest states or does it indicate things in Wisconsin and PA?

Yeah I had a neighbor get an electric a few years ago and I noticed this summer he switched back. I didn’t ask why. Our lots aren’t huge but not small either. 1800 sq ft ranches with attached garages and our parcels go back a bit. Not quite big enough for a riding mower I don’t think. But it takes me probably 90 min to do it all. I usually split it over two days during peak seasons so I can make it tidy. Now? I don’t care about trimming and all that. There’s leaves everywhere and I often just leave the clippings as the wind takes them off. I had a large maple taken down this spring and it’s saved me hours in work already. It was dying and by this point I’d have already spent all that time cleaning up. Now I just cut over what’s on my yard from everywhere else.

Gas powered lawn care equipment should be banned for home use. Anything that requires the use of ear protection by its operator should be permit based, meaning rare. For special projects. I’m sitting in my house and unable to watch TV because my neighbor just has to do it now. It’s damp and raining and the leaves are heavy and they just picked up our leaves last week. But dammit the lawn has to look like a putting green AT ALL TIMES. I took a vacation day today since tomorrow is a holiday for us. Just want to watch The Thing, man….
