  1. I don’t think the teams can do anything until Ballys ceases doing them. But as I said earlier I do have a friend in the industry, a contractor, who said there is buzz.
  2. But see… I think voters are actually thinking about policy but it’s our overlords in the media who think they still have the power to dictate what people think. And when you push back on them they expose themselves as knowing their livelihood is threatened. But rank and file voters don’t really care about it and know Biden is old and will take the risk. It’s the pundits who have a problem. They need ratings and podcast hits and clicks.
  3. Which makes the jokes about "in this WI diner folks are wondering about…." really satire than jokes.
  4. That’s a good question. Laziness and just going with their echo chamber. I think it’s an element of a group of people realizing their time has passed and they get bitter about it. I saw a meme that explained that older people often bash the tastes of younger people as a reaction to understanding that what’s hip and popular and all of that is not about them anymore. The “grumpy old man” syndrome. I think that’s true with political punditry. They are used to setting the narrative and they can’t do that anymore. I will say it until I am blue in the face. They are not relevant anymore.
  5. I said this in the other thread too but for the vast majority of people nothing has changed. Yes Biden is old and might die or need to resign. That is as true in 2024 as it was in 2020. Voters were ok with that and having a Kamala Harris presidency and they are ok with it now. This is nothing new because in addition to possibly Biden dying, Clarence Thomas, Sam Alito, or Donald Trump might die too within 4 years. Having a President Biden or Harris deal with that is preferable to the only other alternative.
  6. Right! Imagine headlines “Biden won’t have any events until lunchtime”.
  7. The thing is… people are not surprised by Bidens performance and even if he, ahem, passes away or resigns… so what. How are we hurt by that? If someone is inclined to vote for Biden why would that scenario stop them? They already voted for an old feeble guy with Harris as the waiter in wings. I’m supposed to believe that actual voters saw that and said “damn, he is old. I can’t vote for him, he might die and Kamala is president”? That was the choice in 2020 and he won. The post debate reaction are sports fans venting about their favorite team after their closer blew the game in the 9th. They are pissed and angry. But tomorrow they will be back at the game cheering them on. you know who else might die? Clarance Thomas or Sam Alito.
  8. I believe the wording is such that you have to be eligible for POTUS to be VPOTUS. 35, natural citizen, etc. Bill Clinton was reportedly trying to find a way to get on a ticket and since he’s a constitutional scholar decided he’d not win a challenge Such a stipulation doesn’t exist for speaker or other positions in the line of succession. You could be speaker of the house at age 25 since that’s the requirement to be a member of the house.
  9. Axel F is fun. If you liked one and two then I think you would like this one too. It knows what it is supposed to be.
  10. I didn’t interpret it that way. It’s to consolidate rather than play phone tag to decide what they should do or suggest they do. They haven’t decided.
  11. I don’t think so. But maybe I downplay it. I’m more bothered by how baseball handled it. These acts were so bad that management had to be suspended but in order to find out we had to give immunity to those who actually came up with it and did it. The ultimate in cover ups and having it both ways.
  12. Several of those players may make the HOF.
  13. Not all orgs are setup the same way in terms of power structure. There’s formal and informal.
  14. I know someone who rags on him for wearing a sweatshirt over his jersey.
  15. And I have think a lot of the media are butt hurt over access issues. Like they feel entitled becaise, you know, they are The NY Times and the world revolves around them. So they take out revenge.
  16. I came across a tweet years ago that made a case for Lemon for the HOF. He didn't explicitly say he should get in but pointed out when you compare his offensive numbers to his peers at the time and all of that, he compares favorably with HOFers. His defense did a lot for him.
  17. Did I miss something because twitter is acting like he's going to drop out.
  18. When is the Stephanopolous interview? That along with some town halls can do a lot to stop this.
  19. and it's further proof to their irrelevancy and why their only value is not one of advice and guidance, meaning someone you should listen to, but rather "do what they want or they will try to hurt you". They have no moral compass.
  20. afternoon games during the week could cut into Leave it to Beaver at 2:30.
  21. A friend of mine in the industry said he heard rumors that the Ilitchs will move the wings and tigers to channel 20. The Florida panthers made the move to the same company that owns channel 20 today. Comcast isn’t budging in his words. Have no idea if that means now or after the season.
  22. Yes it was Walt. He posted here in 2021 for the last time, best I could tell.
  23. A written cognitive test is entirely reasonable. Give them 3 hours, SAT style. speech and physical limitations being roadblocks to the job is actually discriminatory and ageism.
  24. Like Miggy and his diet. He’d look ok coming out of camp but by August you could see the effect of post game munchies.
