  1. One difference between this season and last season is there were more "shock and awe" options in terms of roster management. Bringing up Jake Rogers and Eric Haase was an easy choice when the alternatives were Wilson Ramos and Grayson Greiner. Or bringing up Hill or Cameron when the alternative is JaCoby Jones. When you look at this roster, there aren't many options besides shuffling the deck chairs on the Titanic with the guys on the 40 man (particularly the outifelders) or DFA'ing a veteran in order to clear space. And I don't see Robbie being DFA'd to give ABs to someone in AAA, for better or worse.
  2. I would add, this is worth a read on the Seth Rich situation: https://www.npr.org/2022/06/15/1104511732/fox-news-seth-rich-murder The world would be better off without Fox News and it's compadres
  3. Fox News, after terrorizing Seth Rich's family for years with lies about his son, is literally involved in multi-billion dollar libel lawsuits with Dominion and Smartmatic. And that's supposed to the "mainstream" conservative option. So yeah, I can't blame anyone for being a little skeptical of the tabloid/Murdoch/daily caller/Washington examiner sources
  4. Just an ordinary tour on an ordinary day in Washington, apparently
  5. Robbie being on the team really complicates the picture on getting Baddoo back, one would think. Especially if/when Greene comes up. I don't see them DFA'ing Grossman, but IDK. Weirder things have happened.
  6. The last couple of nights have been really bad because, instead of being uncompetitive while doing completely nothing offensively, they are instead losing after having gotten men on base. As many times as they have been held to 2 or 3 hits, they have had games where they leave 18, 19, 20+ men on base. Countless times. And have often had little to show for it. They just can't hit for any power or in any sort of situational form, and at this point it's hard to see that changing.
  7. 1 run, 19 LOB. Its incredible...
  8. Same answer. Same for Joey Bart as well.
  9. First off, I didn't compare Kody Clemens to anyone, I'm talking about Torkelson. Second of all, my point was that those two players, like Torkelson, also had pretty anemic starts to their careers as well. I'm not saying that is even his peak, the goal wasn't to compare Tork to either of those players but to illustrate that there are cases where guys who are stars struggle when they first get to the bigs. I just think that declaring Tork to be another Scott Sizemore is kinda ridiculous at this point, after only 175 ABs. At least give it a year before going there.
  10. I'm sort of speechless on this one. Torkelson hasn't had a good start to his career, but it seems a little early to declare that he'll be another Scott Sizemore. Particularly given the age discrepency for when they reached the majors (ie. Tork debuted almost three years younger) and the fact that Sizemore never had the high ceiling and tools that Tork has. I understand that all fanbases do this to an extent, but it's pathetic how fast people appear to be declaring him a bust. Maybe he'll struggle some more, maybe he needs to go down for a spell, but he's a 22 year old kid with a little over a year of professional experience. At least give it some time before going there.
  11. OK, nvm, he's gonna be Scott Sizemore. Might as well just DFA him now. Christ Almighty...
  12. I don't think the team did him any favors by setting expectations really high. Nor does it help that you have Jeremy Pena and Julio Rodriguez (among others) out there performing pretty well as rookies. But at the end of the day, he's still a 22 year old in his 15th month of professional baseball. I expected better of course, but people should have always been open to the possibility that he would struggle or that there would be a learning curve adjusting to big league pitching. And not every kid hits the ground running out of the gate. Aaron Judge and MIke Trout are good examples.
  13. I know you're being facetious, but of the two, Greene looked more ready than Tork did in Spring Training. Even then, Lynn seemed to be swimming against the current as (iirc) he felt the opposite
  14. Get outta here with this kinda positivity 🤚
  15. Hutch would have to be DFA'd for that.
  16. Goddamn... first shrub shot of the year
  17. Doesn't matter how good or bad they are at any given time, White Sox always seem to get a leadoff hit
  18. Like Baez, Willi just a tad under that one
  19. I will say that in that previous AB, Eddings didn't do him any favors calling a ball two ball widths off a strike. But he's still gotta cover the outside better
  20. Pays off...
  21. Bold move by Tony L keeping Sousa out there
  22. McCoskey is out there speculating about a send down, so thats a leading indicator
  23. I will say that if Kody Clemens plays better, it actually helps justify a send down for Tork. But at the moment, who ya replacing him with?
  24. Bad decision there, oof
  25. They'll just suspend this one and pick it up tomorrow
