    I'd have to go back and read the article, but it isn't even clear that Skubal's name was included in any direct quotes as well. Just wonder if there's less there than the typical due diligence that you see from a GM in a selling posture

    It says they are "willing to trade just about everyone", not "trying". It doesn't change my feelings about trading Skubal, but being willing to trade and trying to trade aren't the same thing

    I do think there's ways to see how a halfway competent GM could utilize a move like this to accelerate or speed up a rebuild, but again, it comes down to the guy shopping for groceries. As far as I'm concerned, this should be his last time at the grocery store, and his budget should be set accordingly. Unfortunately, Pizza Jr may not agree lol

    The guy doing the shopping is an issue.... but other than that, just about everybody should have a price. FWIW, I'll take the under on Skubal actually being traded.

    RandyMarsh's post referenced the Justin Wilson, Nick Castellanos and Daniel Norris trades. Chas commented that if Al just limited his trades to the Cubs, he'd be OK. I mentioned the Brewers because that was the other party in one of the trades RandyMarsh mentioned. It wasn't meant to be that serious a post or to be taken this literally.

    Missed this, but MLB Pipeline must have recently added Carpenter to the Tigers Top 30, clocking in at 23. Defense seems to be the biggest criticism, which kinda matches what is generally known about him. https://www.mlb.com/prospects/tigers

    This is all correct. Speculation is obviously going to happen in a situation like this. But again, despite whatever PR ramifications exist, fans and the media aren't necessarily entitled to learn anything about this. I mostly disagree with the attitude that we all deserve to learn more, but that's OK. This is a message board, and people are allowed to disagree with other people on message boards.
