  1. Man, E-Rod has been nasty thus far....
  2. I missed this from earlier, but Belarus invading seems like a shaky proposition for Lukashenko
  3. I get it. I guess my point is that the Senate doesn't have to work this way and, collectively, it's the fault of the people who elect these clowns for how worthless it has become. There's a reason successful and relatively popular politicians like Chris Sununu and Doug Ducey aren't running in an otherwise great year for Republicans... the Senate isn't a place for people who want to actually accomplish things other than expelling hot air
  4. I'd be surprised if Pineda wasn't the fifth starter whenever he's ready. Between Alexander and how the youngsters have looked, the Tigers appear to be in much better shape going into 2022 than they were last year starter depth-wise. You need 2-3 extra guys beyond #5 in this day and age, and they have them in a way they didn't last year.
  5. Is it his job? Or is it just what is expected from craven Senators who are delusional enough to think they can become President? I caught about fifteen minutes of the testimony today, during Tom Cotton's turn at playing out his delusional dreams of the Presidency. All of it is just worthless kabuki theater. Just get the votes over with, let the 50 Dems + Murkowski and Collins vote for her, and stop wasting our time.
  6. NATO spending for Trump was a lot like NATO membership for Ukraine was for Putin... a pretext to follow through on a long-held misguided world view. I think pushing NATO members to spend more on collective defense is good (Vladimir Vladimirovich has accomplished that more successfully than any POTUS has), but Trump, through his own words and actions, never understood that the money that the United States puts in isn't just giving money away... that we actually benefit from spreading our influence. My own view is he would have pulled out. And that, as nature abhors a vacuum, others (ie. China) would have stepped in to fill the void. Because, at best, he's an idiot who doesn't understand how American influence works.
  7. Truly insane...
  8. There definitely is hope, and I think if the stars align right they could make a run at the playoffs as a wild card. But still of the view that the division is the White Sox' to lose at this point
  9. Ruben Amaro now picking the Tigers to win the AL Central (now i know why the Phillies fired him as GM lol)
  10. May just be because Ruben Amaro Jr. has a front office background, but the Philly broadcast has been talking them up pretty good today...
  11. Drew Hutchison, meanwhile, looks like he's in AAA form... lol
  12. Gage Workman sighting...
  13. Watch out, Joe... lol
  14. Hasn't been rewarded, but has put together some really good ABs
  15. Pretty successful outing for Matt Manning....
  16. Gonna go out on a limb and suggest that this Greene guy may make the team.... lol
  17. The way I would characterize The Beatles is that they were very good (and often excelled) at everything they did, often innovating new forms of music along the way (ie. Helter Skelter with hard rock), but ultimately they were never the best at anything they did. Hardcore Beatles fans may think that's disparaging but it really isn't.... their range in sounds is what puts them damn near the top IMO and was something unmatched by any other band. But if I want to hear a bluesy rock song and am given a choice between "Yer Blues" and "Since I've Been Loving You".... it's really no contest, sorry.
  18. This all makes sense. Minnesota definitely has a path toward a playoff spot, but just about everything has to go right pitching wise. And like with the Tigers, whatever path exists is definitely not gonna involve a division title.... the White Sox haven't been as active this offseason, but they are still very lethal offensively and have made some pretty significant improvements in the bullpen (adding Gravemen/Kelly).
  19. His profile (a lot of raw talent + less than great discipline) seems tailor-made for the more analytic lean of the new staff for sure.
  20. Source: "Trust me Bro"
  21. Trump regarded Ukrainian sovereignty so much that he blackmailed Ukraine's current leader with the same Javelins that are currently being used to defend Ukrainian sovereignty. So its safe to say that Trump wouldn't have done shit here.
