  1. If we still had 50 games or so, we might be able to come back. But this is like a bullpen coming into an 8th inning tied game and giving up 10 runs. You <could> still win....but you're not gonna. It's over....
  2. Last season when the Tigers were winning at an amazing pace, Jason Benetti said something like "This Tiger bullpen is like riding with someone in a car at 60 MPH who's tailgating." I found that quite funny.

  4. I hear the Lions brought in Quinton Jefferson for a free agent visit. A DE who played for Buffalo and Cleveland.
  5. Rooting for Pittsburgh (Rodgers) against Minnesota and Dallas against Green Bay makes me feel dirty this week.
  6. No letdown on Cleveland. They just beat Green Bay. I'm sure Campbell will have his guys ready. In the NFL, every team is dangerous, this game is a must win. Every game is a must win...😅
  7. Meh...we had a better record than the Yankees but we never had a better team. And losing Olson hurt but it's the lack of scoring runs that hurt us the most. The whole lineup went into a late season slump.
  8. If Boston is locked in at the #2 seed, they may save their pitching..
  9. Lol..yeah. I just take solace in the fact that it's only a marketing artificial divisional race. I mean, I never thought this Tiger team was the best team in the AL and I didn't like people calling them that. They were the team with the best record for a long while but the defending AL champs would be considered the best team until they're defeated. The defending champions. And with so many divisions, and wild card teams, making the playoffs has gotten less glamorous. Winning the pennant is winning a league championship. Cleveland got real hot at the right time and we went ice cold at the wrong time. Historic comeback and historic collapse.
  10. Keep it close? Jason said that too. Acting like the Tigers would be able to score 2 more runs this game to even tie it? Hint....wasn't gonna happen anyway.
  11. Shoulda walked him.
  12. Bases loaded walk Ramirez?
  13. Yeah, football is in full swing. The Tigers kept it interesting all spring and summer before dirtying the bed. I guess we have that to hang our hats on. They....kept it interesting.
  14. That would be great. We need a few more minor league players who are already blocked by an overloaded minor league system who's players are all blocked by players on the MLB roster.
  15. What could (should) have been... Carp hit that 9th inning, game tying home run with 2 outs and the Tigers down a run. In the first of a 3 game series against Cleveland. We then had our closer to get us to the bottom of the 10th tied. He failed and we've lost every game since. Yeah, what coulda been...
  16. A new manager would probably bring in a whole new coaching staff. If Harris and Hinch want to blame the hitting coaches, they would probably replace all of them. But...who knows?
  17. It is what it is. Can't really fix anything with just a handful of games left. The time to build a roster in in the off-season and then add any needed players at the trade deadline. Hopefully, this isn't our new normal. Starting out next season 5-40 would be pretty horrible.
  18. Or just wait for someone to hit a ground ball double play?
  19. Start the runners...hit and run...jump start the offense. You know, manage?
  20. I don't usually agree with negative posts but this one makes sense. If the Tigers slide continues into next season, heads should roll. They prolly won't, but they should.
  21. Pay Boyd $30 million for 2 years instead of Cobb $15 million for one season, for starters. I'm sure there were other starting pitchers available that he didn't go after. (Or couldn't) Be more aggressive with Boras over Bregman. Make an offer in November and give him a week to decide. Turn it down? Find another 3rd baseman. What did we get? Boras dragged his feet and all the other players were signed or already traded. And Harris saying "Oh well, I tried." Look. I get your opinion. Harris was in charge when we started contending. And we all like being in a division race. But I have to agree with others, Harris didn't really do much to build this roster. So all he had to do was to add a few quality players to the roster full of Avlila's players. And at that he's failed miserably. Sure, give him another off-season to acquire the needed players to get us over the hump. I don't have much faith that he'll be able to but he's our best chance.
  22. Yeah, I shoulda said 4 All Star pitchers.
  23. The Tigers will play loose with nothing to lose. Let it all hang out with no worries...uh-huh
  24. Oh...I just heard Leyland repeat it. And Earl had quite a pitching staff, four 20 game winners. Back when complete games were still allowed.
