  1. Well, the Lions don't play them until after Christmas. The 49'ers will be done by then. And it is payback time....another division the Lions can sweep.
  2. OMG...I've been hearing comments about this so I did some Google "research." Bill's girlfriend is 25 years old!! And notice the look on his face?
  3. I think that penalty (and clipping calls) used to be 15 yards? I think it was changed in the '70's. Edit...it was 1974 "Reducing penalties on offensive players from 15 yards to 10 for holding, illegal use of hands and tripping." https://operations.nfl.com/the-rules/evolution-of-the-nfl-rules/
  4. Short term, it would be nice to face a SF team that's out of the race. But keep an eye on LA, they've looked good the last few weeks, doing just enough to win.
  5. I thought he struggled. I know many of our hitters were cold that kept up into the early part of the season.
  6. Remember that time a bunch of Lion fans at MTS said a loss to Buffalo was OK as long as we beat Green Bay? No, any loss is unacceptable. Just. Keep. Winning.
  7. I remember a Tiger SP who went all spring not walking a single hitter. 1st hitter he faced in the regular season? He walked him...😅😆
  8. If a player shows he's ready to compete against good teams, the stats will come. Tork hitting .100 with no power against spring minor league pitchers proved he wasn't prepared to be in Detroit. So, sometimes stats really do matter.
  9. Ugh...last spring Tork and Meadows stunk up Florida. They both came north. Kept stinking until they were shipped out to Toledo. MTS experts said ST stats don't matter. I always said they DO matter, a good team forces players to actually make the team, not to be handed a spot, undeserved. This spring, with a team that hopes to contend, players should show some fire during ST. Actually preform to make the team.
  10. My original point was ST actually matters, performance wise. And the Tigers sound pretty sure he will only be a SP this season. My opinion is he'll be up early in the season after starting in Toledo but if he pitches lights out in ST, he'll make the roster. As a SP.
  11. I hope Lion fans send him 100's of snow shovels...🤣🤣
  12. He's from Florida and played at Alabama. Snow? Hee-hee...
  13. Who said that? Harris and Hinch said he will strictly be used as a SP. It even said that in today's article.
  14. This game is more important than many Lion fans realize. A Super Bowl contender opponent that is coming off a loss. Their defense looked horrible last week and I'm sure they will be foaming at the mouth to get back out there and prove themselves. Meanwhile, Detroit wants to prove they belong in a conversation as an elite team with Super Bowl hopes. A loss would bring up some negative talk from their "fans."
  15. Yesterday's Free Press said Tork had to earn a spot during spring training. Today's said the same thing about Jobe. Has to earn it during ST. So, maybe spring stats DO matter?
  16. Article in today's Free Press says Tork will have to earn a spot during spring training. I guess, now that the team is better, that spring stats really do matter. If he hits .150 with no power and a 30% strikeout rate, he'll be in Toledo.
  17. I'm actually thinking the Rams are a scarier team than SF. SF has no running game, their top 3 backs are injured.
  18. And every active NFL coach and every coach in the history of the NFL would have kicked the FG. 🤣🤣
  19. It sure was. Live, I said, nice catch but out of bounds. The replay showed a totally incredible catch and great footwork. Put that guy on Dancing with the Stars...🤣🤣
  20. As of today, that's what I see as our starting rotation. Jobe will probably start in Toledo, unless there are injuries. But he should be up here, in June at the latest. As for signing another SP? I would rather sign a closer who can miss some bats. Sign JV and make him our closer...😅😅
  21. Skubal, Olson, Cobb, Maeta and Mize. The Tigers starting rotation.
  22. Can you imagine if we had signed Flaherty for 2 years? He would have been even more valuable. And I really trust Harris now...we may contend this season.
