A healthy Skubal and Misioroski in the playoffs would be lethal. The Brewers have gone all in for pitching before. Could see them in the mix for sure if Skubal goes on the trade market
Misiorowski is must see tv. Watching him now. He's struck out 7 of the first 9. Along with him Schlittler, Skenes, Skubal and others. Great day and age to see truly electric stuff until they need the knife
Edit: no-no through 5. 10k. 1bb. 64 pitches
Can't wait to hear Harris' spin. He played a role in the Giants winning 107 in 2021 where most players played above their baseline. 2022 they came back to earth with 81 wins. 2023 78 wins. I think Det is far below baseline to even out late 2024 through mid 2025. They'll get on a streak, and I think they'll end up above Minnesota. But that's it
In 1975 I was at loss #18 in a row mid August. I knew they were going to lose. I had a 2% reaction to this loss. No surprise at all. How many walk-off HR vs Jansen? Is that 4 now? Don't recall ever seeing this from a Detroit closer.
I would think there will be a minor market foe Mize. Would Det consider selling hi on Riley? Selling low on Keith? I still think they'll turn it around and have a chance at the Central. Cleveland is playing above their talent. But if not, it will be interesting. Probably only McGonigle is untouchable. I could even see Dingler being dangled.
Trade deadline is August 3. They have a couple months to turn it around. If not it should be a very active and interesting deadline. The odds Skubal gets dealt are going up by the game.
Det is 30-53 in their last 83 reg season games. Kind of a bipolar team. And I believe they have a strong stretch on the horizon, given several key players are about to return
It doesn't matter much what Det or other teams do. If Wemby stays healthy, along with Castle and Harper they're going to rule the basketball world for the foreseeable future.
