  1. Through 5, Greene with a dinger. Tork 2-2 and a bb. Mize gave up 2 in 4.2
  2. Nothing against Craig, but his voice always seems as if he has a frog in his throat. Like nails on a chalkboard to me. Since I have mlb.tv I would watch the opposing team's broadcasts. Shep and Monroe were just plain annoying to me. As were Shep and Morris. I thought they sucked, and was not surprised when Detroit's broadcasts were rated inferior. I like Gibby, but I don't think he fits as an analyst commentator. God speed to him. Keep him around. He is an iconic Tiger
  3. Jung optioned to Toledo after a 4-33 spring. So it's likely Ibanez and McKinstry at 3rd to start the year
  4. But yesterday the moon was blood red. Coincidence?
  5. What's Jacoby Jones up to? Victor Reyes? I'm obviously joking but I did look up Reyes and he had 202 hits, 111 RBI and a .905 ops in KBO last year.
  6. Who jinxed the Meadows family? Take it back!
  7. My father had a scrapbook of the 1955 Tigers so I learned about Bertoria over 50 years ago. My brother snagged the scrapbook and has it now. I used to collect cards of the players in the scrapbook, including Tiger opponents. A '55 topps bertoria was one of them. I remember liking the name Bullet Bob Turley so I had several of his cards.
  8. I believe I heard this on the Tigers territory podcast about a month ago - that Harris expects 2 top-100 prospects to consider trading Tork. So better than the haul they got for Flaherty. I don't see any team offering that
  9. Dave Kingman, there's a name from the past! Iirc only player to hit home runs for 4 different teams (2 NL and 2 AL) in the same season, 1977. I'd take that career for Tork. 400+ HR
  10. Also signing LB Grant Stuard to a 1 yr deal. I'm not familiar with him
  11. Plus he turned 21 this season. He's shown enough improvement this season to warrant a top half of nba center salary imho. With his passing and ball handling skill I believe he has begun to show a higher ceiling. If Det doesn't pay him someone will
  12. Looks like Rams are releasing Kupp. I know edge needs to be addressed, but I love Kupp's toughness and he might come fairly cheap
  13. I agree, good memories of Magic and Kelser. And Blaha seems more animated. It's been a tough decade for Detroit sports, but a new era is starting
  14. With his rapport with Cade and his ball handling and passing abilities blossoming, they need to keep him. He is a big part of the core imho. Plus, what is he, 21?
  15. On AZ boards they're bummed to lose Lopez and call him a "Campbell type of player." Looks like nice pickup. Brad seems to be banking on the draft for an edge
  16. Elite bat to ball skills. And I hear he is a cribbage savant
  17. Lions just signed DJ Reed 3/48!
  18. Saw this on FB, pretty darn funny https://www.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=1062039925968217&id=100064866573416&post_id=100064866573416_1062039925968217
  19. Scherzer is filthy today. 6 Ks through 3 scoreless innings. If he stays healthy, that 15 mil signing could be a steal. Of course he is getting paid by 18 teams this year
  20. Yeah, that sounds like what will play out
  21. 2 dingers on 3-3 night for Tork. One dinger opposite field, something he has been working on. Also, Mize, holy cow! If his command and splitter continue on that level it will be difficult to send him down. That's as strong as I have ever seen his stuff. And Montero did struggle badly first inning, but the next 2 innings he looked good, especially his change-up. He'll be back in Toledo but I see him getting a chance in the bigs soon. Maeda, Jobe, Cobb, Mize, Montero for 2 spots. Looks like Manning and likely Montero to Toledo. Good problems to have
  22. There will likely be plenty of slot machines, roulette kiosks and blackjack tables at the stadium, next to the in-stadium brothel and burlesque stage
  23. I recall toward the end of last season, with Maeda being used for long relief, Johnny K interviewed him and he was almost apologetic about his season. You could tell he felt bad about his overall performance. He seems to be a very humble guy. I have no doubt that he put in a lot of work this off-season to prepare. He still might be done. But right now he looks like their #5 starter
