  1. Has Tork ever had a big hit with bases loaded and less than 2 outs? Seems like he always comes up short there
  2. Two of the clinics where I work abruptly closed shop 2 weeks ago. Dozens lost their jobs. We all take less pay because our clinics mostly serve immigrants and homeless. I'm retained because I am funded by one of the few remaining grants. Yeah, tough to hear anyone complain who makes a gazillion times what I make, and my job is always hanging by a thread
  3. I watched part of it but ended up watching the Tigers instead. Okorie should fill out more. Tough to assess from summer league, but he looks like he belongs
  4. That's a top 10 all-time interview with Valencia
  5. In May they lose this game. Jansen actually gets a save for that. Now take 2 of 3 vs Philly!
  6. JV gave an excellent presser today. Took me back as he was reminiscing. Would love to see him get a few decent starts in before it's over
  7. I prefer haiku But your alliteration Is most impressive!
  8. That last at-bat was fun to watch. After trading most of their starting team away last deadline, the Twins have had a surprisingly good year
  9. Certainly not. More from hearing teammates saying they are worried about him, and seeing a change in his affect and demeanor during interviews post being cut by Chicago. And part of it is a clinician's instinct. I say that as a licensed mental health professional of 37 years who happens to be a Christian.
  10. There is ground in the outfield, ground over the fence.......
  11. His focus isn't basketball right now. He needs to get himself grounded again, or perhaps pursue a career in ministry. I think he may also need some mental health supports
  12. That reminded me of David Letterman's ongoing joke he had about Terry Forster who always kept 6'3" 200lb on his baseball cards, when in reality he was likely pushing 300. Mickey Lolich used to say he pitched better with extra weight. And didn't CC Sabathia lose some velo when he went keto?
  13. I have a hunch that Harris might be buying bullpen at the deadline, not selling. Still a crazy risk, but their rotation is healthy and clicking - Skubal, Melton, Mize and Flaherty are all in a zone. Framber could get there. Keider is there to patch holes. Interesting next 3-4 weeks
  14. Great hitter. 14 year contract. Overweight. Only 27. Lifetime ops .848. I just have a gut feeling he might be a 32-33 cliff guy. Like you said, they had to or risk losing him. After watching Miggy I wouldn't have gone there.
  15. Vladimir Guerrero Jr's ops is .693 and his ops+ is 91. Think his contract will age well?
  16. That was 22 years ago?
  17. Montero's whip in 92 innings is 0.97
  18. Nice to see all 3 make it
  19. A+ game defense today, and props to Flaherty and Keider!
  20. How about a change of scenery trade of two former 1:1 draft picks: Tork to Minn for Royce Lewis Lewis has been a slightly better hitter, but has also had injury issues. Both tend to be streaky. Sometimes a change of scenery does seem to help. Recent example Andrew Vaughn. And Kody Clemens just hit his 15th dinger this year. It's a lateral move, but I'd be open to it just to see if a fresh start would help either of them. Both are FA eligible in 2029.
  21. I live in Minneapolis. I could see that working
  22. The Dodgers have 9 of the top 100 prospects per mlb.com. 2 in the top 10. 3 in the top 19. Max Clark sits at 13, Ranier at 41. Top 100 Baseball Prospects | MiLB.com https://share.google/iM8iHX0RjsdVCpRJC
