I don’t have a problem seeing John Smoltz. And he probably wouldn’t have had the career with the Tigers that he did with the Braves, but seeing him still bothers me because I’m petty and irrational.
I guess I don’t get to watch this game. My local Fox affiliate is of course showing the Yankees Cardinals because those are two “real teams.“ And granted the Tigers versus the Twins does not showcase two “real teams“ but at least one and on FS1 they’ve got drag racing and on FS2 pickleball!
The Chevy ad that I’ve been seeing on mlb.tv where the guy at the end of the ad is wearing a Tiger‘s cap is definitely if not in California then more generalized in “The West.“ The terrain is more interesting photographically.
Winning two games in a row against a team we should reasonably expect to handle is not something our club has been able to do for some time. I hope the fact the Tigers are doing this again “means something“ and it’s not just one more point on a graph in the statistical ozone.
All the above average children of families from Lake Wobegon who drove two hours to this game will go home disappointed, but with a life lesson that will only make them stronger.
Morton is starting to put some good innings together. He’s at 51 tosses after three innings though I don’t know how long he’ll last or when he’ll start missing.
