When you don't throw any harder than Matt, a hitter is going to salvage more soft contact hits that would be complete misses against a guy with harder stuff. So it's bad luck because they were able to bunch a few together, but it's also 'bad luck' that is a little more likely for Boyd a guy with better stuff.
