Hinch has a real bug up his rear about Maton at 3B. Makes no sense at all. There are at least 3 better 3B on the roster. If you want to play him, fine. Put his asz at 2B.

Not to mention that if wants numbers, Maton's OPS at 2B is 756. It's 580 at 3B.

I agree he should be at 2B nost often, but I really doubt what position he plays affects his OPS much if at all.

This is cool, my favorite one of these gifts for retiring players was when a team(maybe Twins actually?) gave Mariano Rivera a rocking chair all made out of broken bats in honor of all the ones he induced over the years. I can't remember if they were actually bats he broke but either way I thought that was cool and creative.

I was surprised how bad he played that.

I believe it's hard to excel at multiple positions in the same season.  It's nice to have positional versatility, but there may be such a thing as overusing it.

If Greene is in CF, Vierling is probably in RF, Carpenter is in left there and maybe doesn't do any better. Of course if Marisnik were out there he'd likely have caught it. Baddoo? Who knows.

Parker Meadows on the other hand......

True.  I am thinking more of the organization's mantra of positional versatility in general.  If your roster is set up so that you have multiple guys playing all over the place, it may help you with offensive platoons but you also might be sacrificing defense.

That broken bat rocking chair from the Twins was absolutely fantastic.  I hope that whomever came up with that idea was promoted in the spot.
