(Ratner was a friend of Epstein, by the way, so there's that). I have never owned anything Apple because they are so pretentious, but I can't buy that network - not even for a month to watch that show. Not even a free trial. That bums me out because it's Vince Gilligan and I trust Vince. **** Tim Cook - he's probably a Pervy too. In all honesty, the ruling class in its entirety is full of people corrupted by wealth, who are used to never being told “no“ and who do abominable stuff because there’s never any other adults in the room to stop them. In the early 1970s a supporter of the Black Panthers told me “everything you buy is produced by a pig.” At the time I thought that was an extreme statement, but 50 years after the fact, I see it was prescient. I would never tell other people how to spend their money, but if you don’t want to buy it, pirate it it then because Plur1bus is really good. Quote

My impression is that Tim Cook won't be in charge much longer. I guess he really botched a lot of A.I. oriented stuff and Apple has fallen behind, but trust me - the employees there are not happy about giving trophies to the dictator. 1 Quote
MichiganCardinal Posted February 6 Posted February 6 I totally called the latest development in The Pitt. I didn't think it would happen in that episode, but I just had a feeling that character wasn't on the same arc as Season 1. Quote
oblong Posted February 6 Posted February 6 I threw on Pine Barrens while I'm working and although i've seen it over a dozen times, have done full series rewatches at least 6 times... it still blows me away what a great episode it is. In some ways it might be underrated because of the scenes in the woods.... take those out and it's still one of the best. So much happened. If you like the show..... watch it again. I bet you'll be surprised like I was. Quote
StrangeBird Posted February 8 Posted February 8 After the abomination that was the final season of Game of Thrones, I thought I’d sworn off any future GOT spinoffs. Eventually I caved and tried House of the Dragon but did not find it compelling. However, the new show, A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms is terrific. It’s a smaller scale story, with episodes lasting only 30 minutes, but it’s a moving story with some compelling characters and a lot of humor as well. 2 Quote
Hongbit Posted February 16 Posted February 16 (edited) Wow. Just wow. Episode 5 of A Knight From Seven Kingdoms is a masterpiece. Did I just watch one of the best TV episodes ever? Maybe Edited February 16 by Hongbit 1 Quote
MichiganCardinal Posted February 25 Posted February 25 Rewatching Ted Lasso. Such a phenomenal show through and through. Just as good on the second watch. Quote

We started our first watch a while back and are making our way thru. I can see why it's so popular. I feel good after every episode. After Robert Duvall died I'm watching Lonesome Dove again. Watched it at the time when it aired and remember it being so good. And it is. What a stacked cast too. Plus Diane Lane in her early 20's isn't a bad thing. Quote
MichiganCardinal Posted March 6 Posted March 6 Another week, another master class from The Pitt. Quote
IdahoBert Posted March 7 Posted March 7 I’ve started watching the new series from Prime, a Guy Ritchie production called Young Sherlock. All the episodes dropped a few days ago. It’s fast paced and doesn’t dawdle one bit introducing the character, because you already know who it is, which is nice. It’s non-canonical in terms of classic Conan Doyle, and it’s based upon a separate book series, but in the first episode you meet Holmes’ brother Rycroft, and Holmes’ eventual nemesis Moriarity who is every bit as brilliant as Sherlock all within the first 20 minutes. It’s quite watchable. 2 Quote
oblong Posted March 9 Posted March 9 We've been watching DTF the last few weeks... it wasn't what I expected going in but it's decent. It's got Richard Jenkins in it who looks the same as he did 25 years ago when I first noticed him in Six Feet Under. Quote
oblong Posted March 12 Posted March 12 Watched Rooster on HBO. I liked it. Didn't realize until after that it's the same folks behind Ted Lasso, which made sense. Similar vibe. Funny and charming. Quote
MichiganCardinal Posted March 27 Posted March 27 If you’re not already watching The Pitt, I can’t recommend it enough. it might overtake Breaking Bad as #2 on my all time list. 1 Quote

What's # 1? (and yes, the Pitt is great. but Breaking Bad, Better Call Saul land Sopranos are my top 3 - because those were shot and edited like movies). 1 Quote

oblong Posted Sunday at 10:28 PM Posted Sunday at 10:28 PM Prime has a streaming channel of AMC shows and I routinely throw that on if it's BB or BCS. Even during that format it's better. BB was great and I get why some like it more than BCS. I'm not knocking it. BCS had more depth. Quote
Biff Mayhem Posted Monday at 03:13 PM Author Posted Monday at 03:13 PM Started watching “Jury Duty: Company Retreat”. The actors aren’t as engaging as the first season and some of the pranks are telegraphed but the guy who is the “target” is all in and I love his enthusiasm. I am enjoying it but I’m watching it through Jury Duty glasses so I’m a bit jaded. 1 Quote
Sports_Freak Posted Monday at 11:09 PM Posted Monday at 11:09 PM It took me 2 weeks but I just watched both seasons of Landman. I really liked the storyline and Billy Bob Thornton is a favorite of mine. It was a very well done job and I look forward to a possible season 3. 1 Quote

As was The Lincoln Lawyer. Both of those shows are based on Michael Connelly books, as is the show Ballard. Quote

Both of those shows are based on Michael Connelly books, as is the show Ballard. Older favorites for me are St. Elsewhere - first hospital show where they didn't save the patient every week, in fact if you were a patient in season one, you're in real trouble. I liked Hill Street Blues back in the day because the cops weren't always the good guys. Homicide: Life On The Street was a step above Hill Street Blues. Then, of course, there was The Wire, which tried to show the point of view of some bad people who had no other real opportunities in life. I liked Lost until it lost itself and got stupid. I think a smart way of doing TV now is to set a boundry and stay with it. We're doing five seasons - even if we're super huge, just five seasons and that's going to be the story arc. Lost would have been amazing as a 3-season show, but it went on for 6 and they were throwing WAY too many things into the show to fill that 6 seasons. Twin Peaks would have been maybe the best show of all time if it ended with 1 season. We were never supposed to know who killed Laura Palmer. But the network forced Lynch into revealing it. He regretted it immediately and I think he intentionally made the show so weird that only diehards would stay with it. Can you imagine how much more legendary that show would have been if they never revealed the killer? I think it was supposed to end with Agent Cooper leaving town to investigate the death of another girl in another small town. Quote

And it's not the "target's" fault. He's great, as you said. Of course, Jury Duty had the added benefit of being able to utilize James Marsden, which obviously is not possible here. Quote
