I really liked the ending of company retreat. I got a few laughs throughout the series but the ending got me in the feels.

It ended up being a good season. I would definitely watch season three if they make one.

I'm currently streaming Scarpetta on Amazon Prime. Jamie Lee Curtis is really irritating on the show, if it was her intent, she does a good job. A little bit too much jumping from the past to the present, makes it a bit confusing. But it's worth a watch....but the books were/are much, much better.

I am a big fan of “Dead Loch”.  Season 2 just added - on Amazon Prime.

Anyone else see season 1, and now season 2?

I very literally laugh out loud at the dialogue and physical humor on this show.

yes it was. I was wondering how they were going to pull it off but I liked it.

Sometimes the obvious answer is the best one, rather than some crazy twist at the end, but if you tell the story correctly it can work.  Loved the Homer character too.

My only complaint is that Clark's ASL skills were too advanced for the limited amount of learning he had.  They did a good job at balancing the flaws but showing us why they have those flaws.

and having a son like Richard sure pulled at the heartstrings.  When they were on the bus after he acted out.... damn.  Been there done that.

One of the saddest endings ever.    It hit me hard, being an overweight middle-aged guy.   Feeling invisible.  Only difference is that I kind of like it.

Did Harbour wear a fat suit?  Someone with his girth should have a fuller face I think.

No, his weight fluctuated during Stranger Things.  I think he gained for the show, but there may have been some digital manipulation too.

On Hulu for only 10 more days -

Secrets of the Octopus.

It’s wonderful.  These creatures are amazing…. So damn smart.

Episodes are about 45 minutes long. Definitely worth watching a few.

I was really surprised to see this was being done by Vince Gilligan.  Wait that isn't as funny.  I was really surprised to see this was being done by David Simon.

Scene:  African American freedman is walking down an alley in the little town of Walnut Grove carrying his laundry.  Another African American freedman wearing a bowtie confronts him with a very stylish pistol.  They discuss how they are going to get revenge on Stringer after a brief standoff.

I haven't legitimately watched a TV series since Breaking Bad. I started watching Better Call Saul, and it was fine, but somewhere down the line I lost interest in it. I'm sure I'll see the end one day.

I was really upset that Gus wasn't the one that got the spinoff show. If there was ever a cooler villain than Gus, I don't know who it was.

Finish watching Saul then. That’s all I will say.  I liked BCS better and when I put on the AMC stories channel on Amazon prime I watch that. If it’s breaking bad I don’t tune in unless it’s an early episode.

I watched the first season of Cross on Amazon Prime. It's based on the James Patterson books of the Alex Cross series, which I've read. The first season of Cross was really good. The 2nd season? Not so much, way too confusing. Of course, IMO.

Better Call Saul is better and I’ll die on that hill.

Breaking Bad is about the arc from beginning to end. The character development is unmatched… But BCS on an episode-by-episode basis is just better.

I finished The Pitt season two. Excellent show but dropped down my list a bit at the end.

Not a knock on the ending, it was a good season finale. But to stay in BCS/Breaking Bad territory, you have to continue to ascend.

I disagree.    One thing that they can't do on that show is to have a "Crisis Of The Season".  To have some sort of Mass Casualty event ever year.  That would get old and very predictable.   It's like the cop show were suddenly someone from the squad's family is targeted.  It seems to happen every season on some shows.       No, The Pitt's wasn't as action-packed as the first season, but that's by design.    This season had two different kind of crises with the information outage and then the staff themselves.  The true "crisis" was a slow burn and I thought they did an excellent job of showing how the stress of emergency medicine effects people in different ways.   I thought the ending was really good because they didn't just answer questions and wrap it up - they showed the ongoing problem of it all.

Maybe around the 4th of July, I am going to put that season on and just let the whole thing play out in real time.  The whole season.  I won't just sit there and watch it all but I will have it running on 1 tv all day to maybe get a sense of things.

The real-life version of Dr. Robby was an ER doctor named Lorna Breen.   Read about her.  It's a devistating story.   I think she actually might be the inspiration for this show.    The healers need healing.

Even if there would have been no Breaking Bad, BCS would still be the best show in television history IMO. The fact that Breaking Bad existed simply enhanced BCS.

I think I could have put it better. The Pitt remains one of my favorite shows of all time. I liked the finale a lot, and I agree that not every season can have a mass casualty event. They did a good job making it feel like the end of a shift (where some characters just disappear when the clock hit 7).

It was just going to be a tall task to keep up with Breaking Bad. I thought Breaking Bad got better as the season / series ended. The Pitt stayed very good, but I just don’t think it quite matched BB’s level of television excellence…. For now.

No, no way.   The Pitt is an outstanding show but comparing anything to BB/BCS/Sopranos/The Wire in my book is like comparing a rookie to Babe Ruth, Willie Mays or Sandy Koufax.  It's just not fair.

I think TV really started to change with one show in 1981 - Hill Street Blues.    As far as I can recall that was the first cop show where the cops didn't always get the bad guy and sometimes the cops WERE the bad guys.   Maybe intentionally (Cheif Daniels, Sal Benedetto) or screw up with heart in the right placye (J.D.LaRue).  Then a couple years later came St. Elsewhere - where the doctors didn't always save the patient (previously the patient ALWAYS got saved). If you were a patient the first season of St. Elsehwere, you needed to update your will.    Then TV went to another extreme in the 90s where the bad guys becaume the lead characters and the writers got you to sympathise with them - and that's when TV got really good.  To black hat/white hat so much, just a lot of grey, really intense grey.

The editing on Breaking Bad, Better Call Saul and the Sopranos was as good, if not better, than any major theatrical film.    Face it,  Breaking Bad was basically a 60 hour movie.

By the way, The Pitt's next season is set in November.   So I am guessing that it will be Robby's first day back from his nervous breakdown/sabbatical - and he is going to walk into a bunch of unexpected changes and an emergency room that ran very well without him - which will cause an existential crisis for him.  I think Thanksgiving, and a Blizzard may be part of the backdrop and the mix of the day will be a bunch of homeless people finding shelter at the hospital and making up reasons to be there (only to find out they have real illnesses), along with a terrible icy road traffic crash and maybe a mass Food Poisoning scare.    Robby will not walk in as the Senior Attending right away as they will give him a few weeks to readjust.  That means Abbot has moved to Days,  Or Al-Hashimi has gotten her wish of two attending - herself and either Dr. Ellis (who will be a regular next season) or Dr. McKay.
