It's funny, one minute you say that you don't even know that they're police and the next you're demanding a higher level of scrutiny because they're police.  Can't have it both ways.

Yes we can

"who watches the watchers" ..."Quis custodiet ipsos custodes?" is a latin phrase which shows you how long it has been important in government of free peoples to have control over the people in charge of keeping order.

Those who think the po po shouldn't be subject to scrutiny do not have our best interests in mind.

What is this is obsession you have with illegal immigrants?  Do you feel this way about every law?  What about driving over the speed limit?

One foot in the rabbit hole. Russian propaganda works too well.

Why not?

Something about the way this discussion has turned makes me remember the guy in the Fenway neighborhood who used to yell at teenagers walking by and talking to 'shut up and get off of my lawn.'

He lived in an apartment building. He didn't have a lawn.

He does not want people who put on a sash that says "police" on it to be held under any standard of conduct. He also voted for Harris, under whom the police would definitely be held to strict standards of conduct.

Well first off, they are being held to standards of conduct, just not the ones you and the rest of the illegal immigration supporting mob would want.  The simple fact is that they are wearing clothing and identifying themselves in accordance with their agency's policies.   All of these talking points you illegal immigration supporters have come up with are just plain stupid.  But hey, you once saw a police officer in a blue uniform and silly hat give his name and badge number to someone so that must be the rules for all law enforcement officers.

Yup. It does seem like he's got a whole lot of animosity towards them.

But of course I'm obviously just part of that mob who wants no laws whatsoever, so I suspect my opinion doesn't matter.

Yeah, I've had it with the trolling and the intellectual dishonesty and the name-calling and the flat out lying. It won't end well. It never does.

Also interesting that the thinking is in black and white with no middle ground.
Totally colorblind there.

Just an aside, In Virginia's capitol of Williamsburg about 50% of the residents were African American. 50% of those were slaves. There were a number of free blacks.

If we were taught the truth in schools, the thinking on this might change a bit. In states like Virginia, North and South Carolina the economy was largely agrarian. Negros had been imported to primarily work the fields, but also many worked in homes. By the time the Revolution came around the system was imbedded in the regions economy. Also by then laws, mostly set up by the colonies legislatures and approved by the English governing body made it nearly impossible to free the slaves without bankrupting the regions economy. It was one of those impossible conundrums.
Yes the Washington's, Jefferson's Madison's and such were hypocrites and racists.  It took the Civil War to begin to change things.

BTW, I'm not defending it. Just telling the truth.

The funny thing is that this is the only issue where he does this.  He seems pretty moderate on everything else.
