Edman85 Posted October 24 Posted October 24 Grocery delivery sucks, and I have only ever used it when I had COVID. It is marked up, and they routinely take liberties or struggle picking out produce. It makes me appreciate how much of a skill grocery shopping is and how much it helps me up my kitchen game. 2 Quote

This is beyond the writ of the Politics forum. You've gone too far with this criticism of our society. :--) Quote

We don't use delivery but the pickup and mostly only on non perishables. Soups, pastas, sauces, etc. Anything fresh we try to get from our local market, not a chain. The only thing I can't get her to budge on is she buys chicken breasts in the large packages because at the local place it's "too expensive". Trouble is I spend 15 minutes hacking them up because they are machine cut and there's always some bone and tendons and gristle still on. I tried showing her how much I cut off and the weight to balance the cost but that's a battle I won't win. Quote

I got a Weber last year and a griddle top and frankly, I've not used racks since then. I should have just bought a blackstone. The best chicken I've ever made is cooked on that. I usually cook them all on Sunday then we have have it for the rest of the week for whatever purpose comes up. Quote

Its a character flaw I developed from having a chaotic family with too many alcoholics. Quote

Haven't found this to be an issue with pickup. The store prefers you to pickup to having you take up the space in the building so they generally want to make sure you are happy with what you get. Of that doesn't mean any particular stores are not incompetent. Quote
Mr.TaterSalad Posted October 24 Posted October 24 Inflation is up to 3% and at its highest rate since January. We were told yesterday that Trump killed inflation on everything except beef prices. Quote

pfife Posted October 24 Posted October 24 Apparently the House of Representatives threw in the towel for next week already. Every day theyre not legislating is a good day for the world. 1 Quote
CMRivdogs Posted October 24 Posted October 24 Private companies have no business funding individual projects or government organizations. Tell me where in the Constitution it says “from the corporation or PAC for whoever we see fit” Funding should come from taxes, and if individuals or corporations are willing to pay to support vanity projects or government programs they should support higher tax rates. 1 Quote

Except when the people of Arizona's 7th Congressional District don't have representation because the person they elected, Adelita Grijalva, isn't being sworn in by Mike Johnson. Of course, she would be a deeding vote on releasing the Epstein Files. So we know why Johnson is not allowing Representative Grijalva to be sworn in. Amazing that any Speaker of the House even has this type of power. Any legislative official, at any level of government, from any political party, should be sworn into office in a timely manner post election. Quote

I know its hard for her to conduct business and stuff but the house being closed is awesome. It could be a 2 fer because being the last vote needed is a very powerful spot over maga mike to the point where theu haven't had a vote since early September. When they have to open she hopefully they swear her in and they do the doscharge petition. But her leverage is very strong right now, not weak Quote

I brought that up to a like-minded friend of mine, and he believes Trump timed his outburst specifically to coincide with the World Series, because my friend had seen the commercial running on DC TV back in April. As far as I can tell, Trump is using the machinery of government to stoke his base, keep them perpetually enraged, get us arguing and fighting among one another, so we stop noticing while he blatantly and openly steals the money we pay in taxes to the treasury. Trump is an agent of chaos and disorder, and the whole world is letting him get away with it. Following up on this: I am convinced that Trump is trying to set up for our national anthem to be booed by Canadians so he can market that to the red hats. “See? Just like the criminal Democrats and all the people who voted for them, Canada hates you and wants you dead.“ I would be surprised if that happened. Very, very surprised. I think the Canadian audience is going to cordially applaud for the American anthem, and then go absolutely nuts for their own anthem. Edited October 24 by chasfh Quote
