I had a Lincoln around the same time and didn't have beef with them except the dealer sucked.  Much happier in a different US car with better dealer service.

Having been in many Ford facilities the workforce is very conservative. As are most of the big 3

I doubt Bill Ford Jr has suddenly turned 180 politically. He's trying not to make trouble for his company.
