He'll just go with whoever he thinks will win. He's best buds with the NYC mayor now.  Politics don't matter. Optics do.  And if Cornyn wins again, he'll be in office 4 years after Trump is gone.  Presidents come and go, senators live on.  I thought of that when John McCain, 8+ years after losing to Obama, and after his presidency, cast the deciding vote to save Obamacare.

Someday the story will come out about what leverage Mamdani wielded over him to completely bring Trump to heel, and I hope I live long enough to hear it.
